Galaxy Note 5: Black Screen Issue / Can't See Screen / Display Wont Wake Up- No Problem

- Easy Fix! If your Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 or S7 is experiencing the black screen issue and perhaps you can still see some LED lights come on/off or even hear text messages or phone calls coming in then a simple hard reboot should do the trick. This will not delete any data or anything. If you still have issues then comment below and I will give you several more methods to try.

dude your a life saver, keep getting this issue over and over along with horrible freezes. Sent it to a repair shop twice per Samsung's request and they "couldn't" find anything wrong with it. So upset they wont give me a replacement and honor the warranty. Thanks, now I know how to handle this recurring issue
OMG, you are officially my 2016 Santa Claus! Called Sprint to end up with an apt on Monday, the day after xmas, so I wouldn't been able to take any photos or respond to any well wishes, did exactly what you said and now I'm back in business! I thank God for RUclips and for you as well. Can't thank you enough and I will gladly be canceling my apt for Monday and doing something more valuable with that time and I will be mentioning this on my Sprint survey. Who needs tech support that can't offer any support, all they had to do was goggle it and find wonderful you and help customers without running them around like LA Lakers, lol! I tried this method but won't fix it. I end up fixing it by the " release battery method", I first drain the battery with the drain app from play store (every now and then the screen reappears, I took the chance to install and run the app), after the phone turn off because of out of power, I restarted it a few more times until it can no longer be turned up. Then I pressed and hold the power button for one night (with a rubber band and USB stick) to release all the remaining power. Next morning I recharged and started the phone, the black screen problem no longer appears ever since. The theory behind this method is that it will release the excess from memory, which is what's causing the black screen problem.

It doesn’t work. My cell screen has been off for 10 months now
wrong, it actually worked. I wasn't sure if my touchscreen broke, the led or whichever part. I think it was possibly from the screen brightness % all the way down, and couldn't see the screen in order to raise it, but this actually worked right away first time. I don't think it would work if you actually have broken hardware. But for issues like what I was having, it was amazing. I was getting so mad cause this happens a few times for each phone ive owned and I am not sure how to fix it. I even tried using okay google and having it brighten the screen, that didn't work.

i'm having this issue on my note 5 for the last two days. I can see the notification lights and both lights at the bottom but can't see the black screen. I can also hear msg notifications in the background.
I took it for repair and a guy told me that I need to replace the LCD. Do i need to do that or is there any alternate fix?

Second time a encounter this BUG
Theory:
After Factory Resets and install apps
No issue
then after trying to change Themes
1 or 2 days i encounter the problem
i try to drain and recharge and the phone back to normal again
Then i decided to reformat again
After a month UPDATE pop-up
I updated NOTE 5 XTC to latest update
Then i try to change Themes if the bug is gone
BUT It happens again and now i can't fix it
Flash Firmware or restore back-up on Smartswitch not work
I manage this to memorize the function for DOWNLOAD MODE and powering OFF my phone without display
Please help if you have any idea how to factory Resets my Phone ?
I can't memorize the Recovery MODE ..
I try it many times doesn't work at all without display.

press and hold for a longer period of time than displayed in the video here. I did it and it worked. It took about 5 seconds of press and hold but it started working.

same thing happened to me on nougat as well. I am thinking they did this shit on purpose. I did it before with the first fix, now I cant even get to see the screen to do it now. They do this shit on purpose I swear.. 900 dollars.. Down the drain, I had the case and everything. Still actually paying on it. They got me fucked up.
