Sure, Spiderman and Xmen at the time were THE MOST successful superhero movies of that time before DC released Batman Begins. What superhero movies were trying to do then was to adopt a formula like The Matrix. Slow motion, bunch of CG, dark, and action packed, but you cannot blame Ben Affleck for Daredevil. Look at where he is now, he matured since his previous acting days, he did Argo rrally well, Gone Girl is incredible and I believe he will be a great Batman. Give him a chance and cut the guy some slack.

They also waited to announce it so the kids wouldn't be in school. according to jen garner they announced it 8 months after the split, so by this interview they were about to make the decision.
