Good observation, and thanks. The weights given here are misleading. It's a shame that this keeps happening with RUclipsrs who are supposed to give us truthful information to help us choose a product. Bad video.
Ahhhh i didnt realize the single tent wall was also 5000 hh. I thought that was only the flysheet which is why i wrote it off. Thats awesome. Im a hooped bivy guy but this would be more comfortable when im not needing to stealth camp
I am getting 3.07 lbs on the PRO version when you add fly sheet, and footprint. If you leave that fly sheet behind, it looks like water could easily come in with you. I still don’t see how this works on slickrock. My freestanding tent weighs 2.7lbs. Let see a 1p version - then i might bite.
For what it’s worth, I have pitched my non-free standing tarptent in places that stakes don’t work by utilizing rocks or whatever else was around. I imagine a 3lb free-standing tent costs a lot more than the tent in this video? If not I’m curious which tent.
I like this design a lot. Those sealed waterproof zippers are a huge plus and sign of quality. That zipup boot or wet clothes area is perfect, nothing causes condensation more than damp clothes inside the tent and that solves the problem. I gotta see a winter camp in this, but more importantly I gotta see it used with hammock, that's just wild. Very versatile tent and great job showing it off. 👍
not in the 3 season setup you can have a cookong area using the 4 season fly. shocking how so many people are concerned about cooking and eating where they sleep 🤣
Great video because you've shown all its problems. Its a tent thats ok at a lot of things but not great. That 4 season fly would be gone in anything over 20mph winds. No area to cook in and you cant think that fly/canopy would be any good in more thanba light rain and light wind. The price is what you might expect for the fabrics and quality of build but there are sooooo many other tents that already do the job perfectly. It looks to me that they are trying to come up with a new design for the sake of it. As for used with a hammock I'm afraid i cant comment on that as its not what i do.
the fly buckles to the tent along both ages 8 buckles in total it aint going anywhere plus it attaches to your stakes at the end. its funny that people are all so concerned aboutnthe cooking are. simply put the stove outside the tent a few rain drops are gonna affect your boiling water lol. its unkike anytent ive ever used and lacking vestibules is a minor downfall your gear shouldnt be on the ground in a vestibule to beging with
not unless tou use the 4 seaspn fly. enlugh ventilation in this i believe its wontcbe a problem but time will tell i need to get this pit in some weather yet
Nice try, but this tent has no vestibule - it's a complete deal breaker for backpackers (in the rain you have no place to cook your meal and enjoy the camping) we are waiting for the second edition of this tent 😀
@camping_guru_uk it definitely could but having the the shock cored tensioners I think it would allow thebwater to escape and spring back. my hammock system is the same way with shock cord tie outs I will get back to you once I test it
Tarptent moment DW but slightly heavier and slightly more expensive. Innovative design but alot of dodgy marketing, like you need a hammock for it to work like a hammock. The weight is only for the tent nothing else. Etc etc
more expensive then a tarptent moment dw 🤣 not even close they run what 500$ ooo not to mention duties and customs on top of that to get one to my doorstep in canada etc etc.... 😉
@@JTDOutdoors right now they are selling for $354USD (with crossing pole) and the Wind Anchor Pro is selling for $369usd after the early birds are over. Each country has their own issues with imports.
@Dewain-it6gv useless comment 100%. their websites in the description there are multiple pricing options. or are you used to having everytging done for you????
I think those are more of a water resistant zipper. A true waterprrof zipper costs around $400 alone. I have them on my drysuit for scuba diving. The zipper is literally the most expensive part to replace on a dry suit. Maybe..sealed againt weather...or weather resistant would be a better way of describing them? Cool looking tent, really informative, Thank-you for the video.
Definitely wont be throwing your back out hiking that little fella around.
Good video
Thank you Jeff.
@JBOutdoorsAndMore Thanks Joe. it's deffintly a solid option for backpacking and nowxthat I've got into canoeing I think it'll get a lot of use
That is a seriously awesome looking tent. I'm not gonna lie, I kinda want one after watching this!
thanks buddy its gonna be a solid little tent i think
The weight of the complete set you show is much higher: 1750gr or 1350gr for the pro all inclusive!!!
👍

That's an interesting tent.
Thanks for sharing!
@Anndyinthewoods it definitely is looking forward to trying it out this weekend. canoe trip or hike not sure yet lol
Take a look at the TarpTent Rainbow, Double Rainbow and Triple Rainbow. The arch is on the better side.
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@RAYANDERS-w4t very welcome
Nice
Looks a lot like Tarptent Monument series, but half the price and lighter weight. Great that we have more competition out there.

full kots heavier yes. tents water proof and seem sealed without the fly sheet 5000mm no different then sleeping under a tarp youll stay dry

You have nearly a two pound tent. If made in Dyneema, it would be a worthwhile shelter.

Right, I absolutely can never enjoy camping without the luxury and safety of a vestibule. 😂😅😂
bark said it all for me 😂
@BarkEater obviously he didn't watch the full vid or would have seen the fly convert to a full awning 😅

The rain fly doesn't cover the whole tent
its for 4 season use the tent itself is completely water proof as a single wall tent
