HEY TECH!!!!!!!Glad to see you back!!You just don't know how much you helped me in DARK SOULS.........Love ya man and can't wait till you post more vid's for DS2!!!!!!!!You are F'ING AWESOME!!!
thank you for this! i'm doing a bkh only run on scholar, so i cheese the dragonrider without using a weapon and use those souls to buy a branch from melentia in the forest. got all the way to the bkh without attacking anything in about twelve minutes. never been so excited about a new character haha! thanks again for the idea!!!
Or you can buy the claymore, go back to majula and run all the way to heides tower of flame, run past the old Knights, go into the dragon rider boss room (you can make him fall off in the water or kill him easy) rest at bonfire, use souls to hold claymore, follow the path, run through the felxile sentry area, ring the bell, drop down, the first building will have a great sword in there and a breakable wall to get a royal solider ring, watch how to get overpowered in 10 min (melee) video
When i tried to get the dragonrider to fall off, I failed, but fore some reason he turned back on me and just ran off the ledge on the other side himself, as if he felt sorry for me.
Don't know if anyone said this, but the cat sells you Allluring skulls for 300 souls, you can get two of them to agro the enemies in the gate to a bit far away by throwing them 2 times
If you want EVEN MORE goodies, after this is done, take a Homeward Bone and port to the Tower of Flame. I highly recommend continuing on to No Man's Wharf as it contains a Greatsword, Royal Soldier Ring (very important for melee) and other goodies with nothing but your torch required. Follow this from about 7:00 on ruclips.net/video/NJeA96pR2ps/видео.html
Thank you for this. I did not want to wait to use a claymore. Also, I never actually made it to the branch of yore. I accidentally fell through some wooden planks and got SUPER lost, but ended up finding another branch, so I used homeward!
Just a heads up, on the part where you are falling down the area with the catwalks you say you have to run and jump. That is incorrect. You can just roll off and land on the bottom part easily. I do it every time.
This seems like it would be better for veteran players who want specific items to build a specific character asap rather than a new player. The Drangleic set (armor, shield, greatsword) after the pursuer is amazing and will easily carry you to the point where you would naturally come across all that stuff and beyond, and its really early in the game as well since you fight him almost immediately after the Giant boss if you want. Plus you would get a nice early game ring (ring of regeneration) along the way as well. This seems pretty impractical and out of the way for mediocre stuff. No offense.
Graet video if anyone is haveing trouble with the dragonrider what i do is watch his feet and when his left foot the one on ur right side touches the outer most circles line i run and jump the corner sorta i fell a lot just running then u land inside and falls super easy 100% of the time also if u start with a bonfire asthetic u can do it again for another 33000 souls
I forgot about the lever in the waterway and I never knew I could dual-wield in this game. I think I get more confused by this game than I am afraid of its difficulty.
Yay Tech, you're back and with a great first DS2 guide no less. I made a bee line for the Claymore with my second char because the moveset is excellent... went the longer way though to Earthen Peak for a Branch, because that is also my Sunbro char. Your way is much faster and easier though (1 less boss) P.S. Any live streams coming up? I miss those.
I missed the sublime bone dust because the Old Knight with the mace fell off the ledge of the map. This seems an unreasonable way to lose an incredibly valuable item.
Hey TPR. I'm on NG+ looking for a DS2 easy mode akin to your brilliant DS easy mode. I found having ATT50, INT/FTH 50s is OP and I can see it going to NG+7. I never had to use melee/bow with this build. I'm WAY overleveled, but I was doing tons of coop and getting so many souls on NG+ that it was easy to level up quickly. I see these HUGE weapons buffed, but my sunlight spear, GLS, GRS, RS doing more damage! Miracles and hexes seem the way to go. I wasn't impressed with sorceries, but I haven't gotten CSS yet.
Hey TPR. I finally beat the game so I'll be watching all of your DS2 videos as I didn't want to see any spoilers. Was wondering if you'll be doing a Dark Souls 2 Easy Mode--your DS Easy Mode helped me to beat DS on NG+7!
I am still looking for easy mode. I think a combination of the BKH plus magic or bow will do the trick but I have to play the game several times with different characters and strats to confirm. BTW congrats on beating the game. Favorite and most hated boss? Most difficult?
TechPhantomReviewer You were a godsend with DS--your advice of DEX/INT with Great Scythe crushed all even on NG+7 (I'm Domino on your blog)--indeed, it's probably a lot of research you did to find out the amazing formula, so it will take time to figure things out for DS2. I was strangely strength based (45) b/c the Havel's great shield was a godsend, and I beat the game with the lowly bastard sword +10 with no buffs used. I have used only three hints when I got truly stuck the entire game! I used the bow to lure enemies out so I had some dex thrown in. Didn't use any spells/miracles! This build is not going to cut it in NG+ I don't think! I'll start a new play through with the sorcery class, but put all the points into strength, agility to get through NG (since that worked for me), and then on NG+, put all the points into INT/ATT for more offense. I think with range spells, I don't need to invest in DEX since they can pull out enemies just as easily. Indeed, the bastard sword +10 was rather good for NG, but I can see it being weak for NG+ forward, so I'll definitely look into the BKH with magic as you recommend for this new play through. Did you get to use the Great Scythe? I'm not sure if it's OP in DS2 as it is in DS? Hmm...there are so many bosses, I love all the boss fights so I don't have any bosses I hate! I kind of liked the executioner chariot since that was a puzzle. The most difficult was probably the Ruin Sentinels melee--it literally took me almost 30 minutes for the one successful fight. I was VERY patient which did the trick! Then I saw someone power-stanced two clubs and knocked them out in less than 5 mins on a really low SL, LOL!
pretzels713 Thank you! I'm on NG+3 and I totally agree. STR for great shields, and I rely on Dark Orb, lightning spear variants. I don't even use melee since hex/faith is rather OP!
Did it! Dragon slayer and the fall are for sure the hardest parts of this. Took me I little over an hour.... Damn knight's put glue on his feet since this video came out or something?
I believe they are bonus items if you had a special version of the game. They aren't anything spectacular though, so don't feel like you're at a disadvantage without them
I find all three of those weapons pointless, IMO your better going to iron keep to farm a black steel katana or sinners rise and farm a royal guard greatsword
Hi! Just started playing DS2 last night and after I finished creating my character, I didn't get all those weapons just like you did. Did I miss out on something? Haha.
someone please help. i have version 1.10 and the scholar of the first sin edition. and it says you can buy fragant branch of the merchant melentia for 12,500 but she doesnt have it ? am i to low level ? ive beaten the old giant boss and the dragonrider boss ?
How did you get those items after making your knight? I would really appreciate having heard what you did because I believe that would help me through my run :3
ikr? I keep looking at Phantom's sites to see if he posted any more DS2 videos--I love his commentary. I'm hoping TPR will do a no bonfire/no death run "easy" mode so that we all can get those rings, LOL.
when i am done recording Darksouls 2 my video comes out all weird looking with random little light glitches every where. i have a video of this, although it is just a test not a real video. ( I DID NOT USE A MIC FOR THIS) Vegas pro will not work with Dark Souls 2!
Yikes! I remember how scary your DS videos were b/c you thought outside of the box and tackled Quelaag first and picked up all the soul items there, LOL! So I was nail biting when I saw you go to Heide's Tower and Black Gulch, very impressive! I tried so many different weapons, and nothing had the speed and power of the Bastard sword--I even felt the Claymore was too slow. I think the BS+10 can clear out the mobs, and for harder enemies and bosses, use magic for NG+ and beyond? I remember I did the same with the Great Scythe in DS, clearing out the mobs with it, and then used my most powerful spells for the bosses (CSS, HCSM, Dark Bead, Power Within, Crown of Dusk, TCC, etc).
Those are pre-order weapon sets that you can download. They are in the game for anyone to pick up later and most of them are not that great to be honest.
+parker61202 You do realize that you need stats to use weapons....right? Course a naked newbie isn't going to be able to use these without leveling first. Also, the starting class "Knight" is nothing more than just a pre set amount of stats to start with and after that they are all the same. So saying the knight sucks with these doesn't make too much sense. Good luck sir!
what a total waste of time, claymore is only a small bit better then boardsword wich u already have, the bkh u need twinkling titanite 2 upgrade wich u dont get till well into the game, plus upgrading claymore u need titanite shards and chunks, wich again u dont get till well into the game.as ds messages go.. POINTLESS :)
Half of the things you said weren't true and the other half was barely readable. The Claymore isn't a mediocre weapon, it can carry you through the entire game and is also a decent weapon in PvP. The Broadsword on the other hand... Yuck...
Yay Tech, you're back and with a great first DS2 guide no less. I made a bee line for the Claymore with my second char because the moveset is excellent... went the longer way though to Earthen Peak for a Branch, because that is also my Sunbro char. In scholar of the first sin you can skip the gutter by killing dragon rider and buying a branch from melentia in the forest of fallen Giants
Anyone think The Gutter is reminiscent to Blighttown in Dark Souls?
Xavier Cremeans reminiscent or no, I hate both those areas...
HEY TECH!!!!!!!Glad to see you back!!You just don't know how much you helped me in DARK SOULS.........Love ya man and can't wait till you post more vid's for DS2!!!!!!!!You are F'ING AWESOME!!!
Excellent commentary!
Keep it up dude, you rock!!
"bald females"
whatever floats your boat mate...

died to the mace guy 5 times but did the boss in 1 XD
When i tried to get the dragonrider to fall off, I failed, but fore some reason he turned back on me and just ran off the ledge on the other side himself, as if he felt sorry for me.
Thanks allot! This is the kind of cheese that make the souls games so tasty ;)
you take a "little bit of hit"? DUDE?! You almost died! xD
My dragonrider was bored of my shit and just gladly ran off the platform
Nice video dude. After about 30hrs into the game I had a glitch and my save file was corrupt. So Im starting over. Your vids will help!
Don't know if anyone said this, but the cat sells you Allluring skulls for 300 souls, you can get two of them to agro the enemies in the gate to a bit far away by throwing them 2 times

can't wait to see more dark souls 2
dude, this is exactly what i needed, i had DS prepare to die and the claymore and black knight halberd where my two favourite weapons
This seems like it would be better for veteran players who want specific items to build a specific character asap rather than a new player.
"with the dragonrider what i do is watch his feet" just count 7 steps.
I forgot about the lever in the waterway and I never knew I could dual-wield in this game. I think I get more confused by this game than I am afraid of its difficulty.
cool, i wanted to get that halberd and was farming in aidas keep and nothing, thanks for this
SPOILER:
After killing vengarls body, you can buy his shield, simitar or normal sword
you can buy all vengarls stuff
danielmhfu
Well, you get his Sword/Scimitar from killing his body and then buying from him and the helmet from talking to him
thank you so much man :) i was really confused with that part haha
great guide. thank you
Awesome video dude thanks
Dude u helped me A LOT thx very, VERY MUCH ^^
Do you really need the ring to do this or is it just to make this easier?
Yay Tech, you're back and with a great first DS2 guide no less. A much easier way of explaining the dragon rider cheese trick is wait for the boss to take 6 steps then run past him
Yikes, ultra greatsword requires 28 str base.
So therefor if you want to dual wield powerstance it, you need 56 str.
Powerstancing requires 1.5 str and dex so it would be 28+14 which is 42. So to powerstance that's 42 str and 15 dex
42, you times the requirements by 1.5

I missed the sublime bone dust because the Old Knight with the mace fell off the ledge of the map. This seems an unreasonable way to lose an incredibly valuable item.
Tech, I can't thank you enough. This has allowed me to kick the **** out of the early-game (the bane of my existance) =D

Hello Tech. Good to see you again posting videos. Are you going to do live streaming?
I remember in ds1 that you said to farm darkroot forest.
I don't care for those weapons but the helm and gesture are ssick
This is probably a stupid question, but how did you get all of those items when you started in the Things Betwixt?
Chris Johnson did you find it out? i'd like to know too :)
I believe they are bonus items if you had a special version of the game. They aren't anything spectacular though, so don't feel like you're at a disadvantage without them
I find all three of those weapons pointless, IMO your better going to iron keep to farm a black steel katana or sinners rise and farm a royal guard greatsword
claymore is much better than royal greatsword.
Nice video, this is really helpful.
This should also work to get the red rust scimitar in sotfs right? Because vengarls body was moved into the area?
Hi! Just started playing DS2 last night and after I finished creating my character, I didn't get all those weapons just like you did. Did I miss out on something? Haha.

You can just speed run skeleton lords for the branch which is very easy
Nice info for getting the branch early, many thanks.. Just not looking forward to another Blighttown rage run :p
How did you get those items after making your knight? I would really appreciate having heard what you did because I believe that would help me through my run :3
You get those items if you have preordered the gane
Oh.... FUCK.... Should have pre ordered it....
YouCast Clawsgaming They´re not that great don´t worry about it.
YouCast Clawsgaming Nope, they all suck and are pretty much useless.
the mace you get with the pre ordering is actually pretty good...
Thx Tech i really like your videos and did this today with a couples of try but i made it :P Thx man :)
Have anyone notice the beginning knights look shit and doesn't look like a knight at all.
hej phantom:
please more videos from dark souls 2, 'cause i love your videos!!! (if i have a wish: a sorcerer easy mode)
ikr? I keep looking at Phantom's sites to see if he posted any more DS2 videos--I love his commentary. I'm hoping TPR will do a no bonfire/no death run "easy" mode so that we all can get those rings, LOL.
Nooo why did they change the claymore into the 14th century style. The later style that is seen in Dark Souls looks a lot better
when i am done recording Darksouls 2 my video comes out all weird looking with random little light glitches every where.
i have a video of this, although it is just a test not a real video. ( I DID NOT USE A MIC FOR THIS) Vegas pro will not work with Dark Souls 2!
how do u get those weapons early in the game when u first start
Excellent, thank you. Subscribed.

the homunculus mace is good for a starting weapon
These weapons suck for knight always says using wrong and bring stats to 3 per hit
up your stats and read the weapons requirments
+parker61202 You do realize that you need stats to use weapons....right? Course a naked newbie isn't going to be able to use these without leveling first. but you can find the greatsword in no mans wharf
without a torch this is legit impossible if you dont know where to go
very hard path for halbert...
For the first boss you just have to wait until he has done 6 steps in front of you before you go
Hay tech what is your ps3 name
Thanks a lot...
what console Is this on
U can buy one from melentia for 12 g's
Manny Quinn?
Damn! I just started and farmed souls to buy Ring of Evil Eye from a cat!
Money (souls) wasted :/
The effect stacks, you can wear both rings at the same time for the effects of both.
Or at least that's what I have been told.
I was told, nearly officialy that rings don't stack, neither in DS1 as well as in DS2 :/
MarkaNLNL Then you heard that from a noob
JustSomeGuy if you wear the loyce set from the crown of the ivory king dlc and that ring, being a female the effect stacks
K
7:20 all my hours that goes for nothing.....
cemlat man its pretty easly you enter the mist on right look at him feet. him come to you wait 6step and u rolling
pre-order items.
Like as soon as you talked to the lady and made your class
OR... just cheese dragonrider and BOOM! Greatsword for free in no mans wharf:)
there are actually 4 types of Knights
Yeah, so they added a dark spirit... That was annoying.
what a total waste of time, claymore is only a small bit better then boardsword wich u already have, the bkh u need twinkling titanite 2 upgrade wich u dont get till well into the game, plus upgrading claymore u need titanite shards and chunks, wich again u dont get till well into the game.as ds messages go.. I am glad everyone is enjoying this video. I will try to do a live stream either later this week or next once my new "beast" PC is set up.
TechPhantomReviewer
Are you going to play DS2 on yr beast PC as well?
I'm sure you have noticed by now, but bows are super viable in 2, I'd like too see you replicate yr DS bow only run in DS2. That series inspired me too play the second half of 2 (only because that's when I found the bow run series) using only a bow, some of the bosses were a fight, but I did it in the end...
TechPhantomReviewer Does that mean we have to wait until April 25 for more videos since the PC version won't come out until then? PC is obviously the way to go, but too expensive for me, LOL!
