- This clip shows a few sequences from my way to and from work.
Unlike six months ago, ( • Riding the Solowheel t... )
I feel now very comfortable on the Solowheel riding over speed bumps, gravel, on and off side walks and so on.
this was the video that got me addicted. Not even a painful, long lasting injury and a three and a half year pause was enough to put me off EUCs. Today I am the proud owner of an Inmotion V10F, with 600km put on the clock by me.
I can hear the adds now, "All the enjoyment of jogging without ever moving your legs!"
Who else is watching this 2023 and owns a EUC for commuting? 10 years later ... amazing. Ride safe and with proper gear kids.
good night segway industry, this is much more efficient.
Oh wow! That's amazing. And I even work in the same City. Switzerland Brugg/Windisch. Awesome!
This was the video that originally got me interested in EUCs. I have been reading about them for a year now and bought my own one just three days ago. I have been practicing for about five 30-min sessions and can ride in a straight line for about 15 meters now - there is no longer stretch of smooth paved surface in my garden. Tonight I'm going to practice on the street for the first time.
Would you recommend it, after 2 years?
@@carlandroberts2358 would you recommend I ask Blackatalon53 a question after you've waited for an answer to yours for 2 years?
@@lincolnchains3731 Yes..... wait, am i allowed to answer you now or should I have waited another 2 years?
@@carlandroberts2358 LOL, yeah I would absolutely recommend it. I learned to ride a bit better, then I had a crash going down a curbstone that resulted in a badly rolled ankle that took more than half a year to fully heal. I quit riding for three and a half years after that, then started again and after one minute I rode better than I ever did before the break, to my own astonishment. I bought an Inmotion V10F and now I can ride competently and have more than 4.500km on that machine. I have done two 70km days and one 100km day too. Best tips I have: dont try to learn on a sh!tty 14'' wheel and always wear protective gear, especially helmet and boots
@@BlackTalon53 lol glad to finally get the answer, it was worth the 2yrs wait. Much appreciated
I dreamed of this last night. Now it's here! I'm PSYCHIC! AMAZING!!!
Fantastic video! First one I've seen which really gets across how practical but also fun they are. Not great conditions but the wheel took care of your commute and you kept your speed up throughout. I can totally see why you'd find it relaxing once you got used to it. I am so destined to own one of these, though think I'll be going for an Airwheel or IPS 111 probably. Tried Segways in 2012 and fell in love so this is the perfect compromise.
We are an authorized US Distributor of the airwheel - www.airwheelcity.com.
The Solowheel is much better than the Segway as you can take it anywhere easily.
SoloWheela Big time. It's why they really appeal to me. Also Segways are banned on the roads and pavements in the UK so can only be used on private land, which makes them next to useless (and far too expensive).
Michael Hall You have FAKE "Segways" on your website. I wouldn't trust anything you sell, and am reporting your site to Segway right now.
This could also serve as a shoe commercial. I like those shoes.
you ride it like really smooth
Gonna get one soon. Hope it functions just like in this video. Cool kicks also.
Thanks for sharing! I'm considering one of those!
Good. Wheels like this are fun, but the REAL importance is when they stop being JUST "toys" and start being genuine tools. My own wheels are used as short-range personal transport on an almost daily basis. Sometimes several times in a day. As short-range, personal transport they are utterly superb - I think of mine as a pair of "magic shoes" that I can put on, and suddenly I walk twice as fast, for well over 5 miles (10 in the case of my Rockwheel) with no effort. They're not ideal for all situations, of course, no single type of transport is. However there is a very definite place for them in the "transport scheme of things".
I did not know about the forum. I have now registered and sumitted a posting. Thank you.
I couldn't decide between a OneWheel and a Solowheel Xtreme!
Very cool; this could replace a LOT of cars, but they'd have to bring the price down a fair bit for a lot more people to be able to spring for one and get on the radar.
It does replace my car quite often
There are alternatives to the Solowheel which are half the price yet similar performance - in some cases having greater distance capacity. The technology keeps on improving and price will continue to fall I think. Check out the Airwheel, IPS and Rockwheel variants.
the maximum speed is 16 km/h
I just got one..... Get one of the new ones that has two wheels. They are more stable.
I don't think I'll ever be able to ride it without the stabiliser wheels.
Very tricky no wonder it hasn't caught on.
Looks exactly like the Airwheel.
you meant, Airwheel looks exactly like this right, because Solowheel is the original, the others are Chinese copies.
I got one to its called Hi Wheel Mac that was nice video so smooth the solowheel might get one great vid faster than jogging whos bothered to walk
Thank you! I also like this video. Nothing is sped up. When I do speed up videos I mention it in the description, a caption or I make it obvious by speeding up very much.
Solo wheel much more efficient than airwheel a lot more smoother on the road hard tyres and strong
Your videos are getting better & better. This one is awesome! Love the camera angle. Is any of this video sped up?
Great video, nice to see how comfortable you are riding the Solowheel on different types of road.
I just have my Solowheel for one week (today), and I think I have run about 40 km on it up until now. It is really great fun, and a great topic starter, but I am still using the practice band on the handle just in case and I still have difficulties with wet surfaces and small bumps and such in the road.
What tire pressure are you running on your Solowheel?
Maarten van Maanen Riding 40-50psi - it feels sluggish with less pressure
Who would want to go to work? Just ordered mine.
awesome
great !!
i like your shoes :)
Hi there.
I have a question for you.
Did you ever took a flight with the Solowheel ?
What i mean is : can u take it with you as a carry on ?
I am getting one this week and also looking for the right bag or suit case or bagpack for transport, but all depends if i can take it as a carry on lougagge or not.
Thank you very much. you answers are very helpful.
Hug
Julio
do remember to wear protective gear like you are going for rollerskating for first timers,.
I WANT ONE.
You ride as a master,,,lot fo practice? I have it since 1 week (the airwheel Q3) and I coldn't imagine that it was so challenging to master it....advices?
Nice vids again! You should open Solowheel school to learn noobies like me ;)
nice
What kind of camera did you use to film this?
Nice shoes, send me a link to buy them plz!
What do you do when you get to school? Do you lock it next to other bikes? I'd be curious if someone tries to break the lock..
I am way past school days...
Does the weight of the rider affect the speed? If yes, what is the max speed when a 260 pound person is riding on it?
And, if anything happen to the tire portion, is it fixable or has to be replaced with a new tire?
Max speed is 10mph for security reasons. I don't think the weight of the driver has an influence.
Thanks for the answer. I will think about it.
I spoke to a company in Switzerland specialised in EUC and they told me these are not street legal. Did you get yours registered somehow or have you had any problems with the police?
Stefan Peev sidewalks
No and no
...Oi! Como posso obter um desse aqui no Brasil (Rio de Janeiro) ???
Is the solowheel and airwheel the same device? Looks the same.
While they look very similar, there are differences.
The Solowheel is the real thing, the Airwheel is a copy with cheaper parts (battery, motor, electronics)
Okay, thank you. It's just the Airwheel is begin touted as the real deal so all very confusing.
Hello Julio, this has been discussed in the forum of solowheel.info - have a look there.
Hello Donald
sign up for the forum at solowheel.info and I will be happy to answer your questions posted there.
how many days did you take for practicing?
+Restu S.H I started to ride the wheel in public after about 2 hours of practice indoors and in a parking lot.
It took much longer for me to feel safe in all conditions.
Wow 2 hours... I got that thing yesterday, and my body still won't balance...
Did you installed 2 mini-wheel while practicing?
I think, I'm a bit afraid to going fast... any tips please?
Restu S.H I did not use the side wheels.
Search for "learning" on forum.solowheel.info - you'll find tips there.
Thanks. But now I can drive it a little bit...
Still need more practicing when turning and starting. My brain could handle it...
ok i mastered it but the problem iis when im going forward my body starts falling back and my feet angle way up and it hurts how to i make it so my solowheel stays straight and doesnt keep leaning back yet im moving forward?
In Portugal in can buy a second hand car or a new motorcicle for the price of onde of those
And will that second hand car fit in your backpack too?
will it keep me dry in the winter?
Why would you need two cars to be used for the same purpose? The purpose of this is for short commuting in ideal conditions so I do understand its limitations. I'm not advocating using this when its snowing outside.
What is the tightest radius turn you can do on the solo?
Some people can turn on the spot or even reverse. I need a bit more space.
Fuuuuuutureeeeeeeee
Where can u get one and how much
where can i buy one of these????????
How fast can this thing go :)
The Solowheel goes 12 mph. The fastest electric unicycle you can buy goes 25 mph and does 30 miles on a charge
Donde lo comprastes
In the lab you can make up to 16km, in real life you make 10km with one battery charge.
WHAT ARE THOSE?!?!?!?
Electric unicycles - up and coming trend in personal urban transport.
yeah no shit sherlock.... BlackTalon53 i was talking about the fucking shoes dumb ass
dum ass yourself - who would be interested in shoes when you can see this amazing technology...
Well uhm i have one my self so....
Should I get this one or the IPS solowheel? This one looks more robust but I want to know the difference if anyone knows.
There is no IPS Solowheel. It's either or.
The original is called Solowheel and IPS is a copy. Get the original, you won't regret it.
Its called IPS unicycle model 111 or f400. The thing that got me interested on that was its 40km per full charge mileage
How far do you go on a charge?
up to 16km, in real life 10km (depends on driving style and up/downhill and so on)
where can i buy this?
What's the range on a charge? Thank you
How many miles will it go on one charge?
Think metric ;) That depends very much on tire pressure, weight of the driver and inclination. Under normal conditions the range is 10 km or more.
The manufacturer claims 10 miles. In real life it is 10 - 12 km depending very much on driving style and speed.
any weight limits?
How does it coop with high curbs?
Soniboy84 Some people manage to jump up high curbs - I prefer to stop or look for a lower edge.
That was a GoPro
HOW MUCH IN PESO
What model is it?
This is the classic Solowheel - the very first electric unicycle on the market
SoloWheela thank you
How is it up hill?
With 1kW under the hood there's no road around here steep enough to keep me from riding up.
cafrune I love to walk, but not on my daily way to work, it just takes too much time.
you needed someone to film......using just a camera stick....no good
if you have to ask you weigh to much
