- Nice to meet you.
I'm Coupy.
I'm a Japanese living in Japan.
I bought a very small camper that can be found in Japan.
It's called a K-camper.
I made a video of the event.

There are also channels with no talk, no BGM, and only environmental sounds. I made it with the aim of making a relaxing video.
I hope you can see it before going to bed or when you want to relax.

This kind of small camper vans i can see a huge market in Europe for them. Thank you for the english subs and the in-depth review. Really really nice.
I agree ! Kei cars must be selling in EU ! I 'll buy one at once ! I love it too !
Me too. This is exactly the size most people would love to purchase on the caravan / motor home market. I wish they would be electric instead of benzin motor.
huge market in United States as well. Not sure why we're not seeing these over here.
Not at that price
@@margemargie9891 hmm, i fail to see US as a potential market. The country is gigantic with large roads so a big car is fine. Unlike Europe where you have a lot of narrow roads
Wow, imagine having a group of like minded friends and each having a kamper vehicle of their own and arrange camping trips together.
Exactly what i was thinking.
Imagine having a group of friends who could all afford 30k us dollars...
Just buy a bigger vehicle and split the gas and all other expenses, its greener too haha
Imagine having a friend...
Sounds so cute
I wish we could get these in other countries. All of the campers are huge. This is so great.
Bit too tiny for most Europeans. Bed too short. 182cm is very short
It does look like a perfect vaccation vehicle for young couples! If the first row of back seats could be converted into regular passenger seats, it could even acomodate the entire family until the kids are bigger. Definitely something with a lot of potential in foreign markets, especially since k-cars already gained a lot of traction in smaller businesses.
The lack of storage would become a problem really fast for any sort of long term use/travel. Where to store food and cooking utensils alone would probable take up most if not all of the storage he has.
So while nifty for short weekend trips or something (a bit pricey to buy something like this for that) that's about all it's good for. Even a micro-camper you hook up the back of your car would probable provide more space.
It is cute though and if it works for him, then more power to him.
@@kamilpotato3764 Yeah I had the same idea. As a Dutch person I would not be able to sleep on the 'ground floor'. Top might be OK though.
And I couldn't ever stretch my back on the bottom floor without the top being raised.
A "XL" variant of this would be perfect for me. I don't need the gaudy US style.
@@kamilpotato3764 but the 'Second floor' bed was 210cm. so viable
I love the Japanese and their sensibility when they talk about objects.
Japan is the most macho civilized society in the world. Talking about objects
Yeah, they rarely sugar coat
Yes, I also saw this site which the guy has made practical additions to a similar mini campervan. Have a look here: ruclips.net/video/R1AokJ9lmP8/видео.html

Excellent. Lovely little motorhome.
Great car though I wouldn't fit in too easily with my 192cm.

Can we all just appreciate how this man just posted his video about his new car and now he has over two million views and almost 15k subs. He struck a market I didn't know I needed and I can't wait to see more! Much thanks from Canada for your review!
I join the previous speaker John from Canada and greet everyone from Germany from my caravan. It's just three degrees Celsius outside, but the weather is great. The sky is clear and starry.
people just love watching people who can live in their vehicles. I feel like it strikes some sort of desire in us to escape and meets the realms of possibility.
@@Hessi aha He isnt John is a meme. John Hammond was the old man in Jurassic Park
@@cIeetz Oh what? Really? I've only seen Jurassic Park, like, twenty times. You're so smart! Then I'm sure you can tell me what his real name is. Or how the fuck else I should address him, "Switcha". I'm also pretty sure that your parents didn't call you "Switcha" and that my surname isn't Hessi. Welcome to the internet. Everything must be new and exciting for you here.
@@Hessi If you are so ''experienced'' with the internet, you ought to know the basics.
''the previous speaker John from Canada'' is commonly referred to as the OP.
On social media sites, OP usually stands for "original poster" or "original post." The person who creates a post that others are now replying to, or that first post itself, is the OP.
So don't go being all nasty and patronizing when there is more evidence of you yourself being new to the internet.
What a cool little camper van. It looked very small at first, but once the popup was raised, it really did make it look a lot bigger. I also wasn't expecting it to have 2 beds inside, but it means you could leave the upper bed mostly made up, and leave the 'downstairs' for general living space.
The sink is also a neat touch, and having the camp stove under the seat means you can easily use this as a weekender, possibly even a week away without sacrificing too many creature comforts :-)
Nice review.

Boy, I wish it were easier to bring these little vehicles over to the US.
There are A LOT of people who would love european/japanese vans in USA
I do too but american needs are for bigger cars and fact our roads are bigger. I can see european market do well with this.. from the small roads.
@@meh4062 because people is bigger.. as in WallE
@@meh4062 No, it won't pass European safety regulations. Van designs such as this were phased out in the 90s. The front crumple zone is literally the footwell.

"Let's check the second floor"-WHAT?! This is such an adorable car.
Very cute, I was waiting to see where the toilet was, I half expected him to lift up the base of the passenger seat to reveal a hidden cassette toilet!
A lot of the Japanese campers do not include a toilet as (culturally) the idea of toilet in their car is quite abhorrent (or at least unacceptable). Modern campers are starting to include them, but for the Japanese, toilet use in public is not an issue. Most (or maybe all) establishments are quite hospitable in that respect. And most campers also do not feel the need to provide shower facilities because of the many onsens and sentos in Japan. In fact, my suspicion is that the Japanese get a camper, and then go and visit as many onsens as possible (their version of a "pub crawl" except with Onsens and over a few days at least). At least, that's what this non-Japanese has sort of figured out (or speculated). My dream is to caravan in Hokkaido. But....
Its not a toilet its stove
what a nice way to burn your butt
With all those windows to cover, maybe a separate closet would be better.
A 5 gallon bucket a 13 gallon trash bag and a nice wooden toilet seat.
Thanks for the translation, I wouldn't have watched this otherwise.
This is a unique and very interesting vehicle.I am Glad i watched this video.

I love this van, it is so small and full of character! I would love to customize it entirely. And for only 35-40k aud, that's really impressive pricing for the campervan market.

After watching many videos on American camping vans and trailers, I was surprised that the table was not part of the bed setup. Now, I wonder if the table can be used in another location too.

This is the Tiny House of campers, an ingenious design, as I would expect from the Japanese. Put a portapotty in, and it's pretty livable, for one person, anyway. The sink can be used for rudimentary washcloth bathing. The poptop is great for a feeling of spaciousness. I stealth-lived In a Westfalia VW poptop van for several months. This would be luxurious in comparison. Add a mini fridge and you would be good to go! Let's see ... 3M yen is what, in dollars? $26,632.58, not too shabby. Now, is it available in the US? Well, probably not until it's 25 yrs old, although they could be made USA-compliant if there's a market. Could be.
Mini refrigerators working off propane, I think are the only practical ones..
Needs to be on 24/7
If you replace the pull-out faucet hose with a longer hose, you can take a outdoor shower.
I could see someone working out how to get a toilet and even basic shower setup that can be put away.
This thing definitely setup better for that kind of customization than the average work van and people still manage to do such improvements with those.
@@InfernosReaper seeing as the worktop is quite low i'd just wee in the sink
It would be so good on gas! Parts of Canada now 2.09 a litre or $7.91 a gallon. I have a truck and camper won't be going far! About as big as my camper for my short box, sleeps 3, but has a 3 way fridge and 2 burner stove, cupboards bigger. A yeti compact fridge would work or Aplicool. I really like his campervan! We are short would work for us. Everything is extra large in North America! All I can think of is the gas mileage it would get, love driving stick shift too!

probably not road legal in the US. unfortunately. hasn't been built to the US spec.
It’s gonna be a hard sell in USA because a Kei car is built with a max of 660cc engine or 64 horsepower, that’s smaller than most motorcycles here. Highway driving would be worrisome today, even though the VW Bus of the 70’s had similar engine power.
Agree!!
@@SteelHex There are older versions from the 90's now (not K cars though) that are diesel powered and they struggle to maintain highway speeds but they were build with 4WD and sit higher.
It's hard to get them legal in some states though and there are import issues galore as you mentioned and it takes like 20 years sometimes before it's legal to even import them. (See the Toyota Hiace camper)
Though for some people like me... I could never fit in something like this since I'm 6'3", I have enough issues fitting in US made RVs that are made for us taller people.
@@SilvaDreams I’m 6’4” and I would not fit either. Though the upstairs sleeping space would be perfect. I love sleeping higher up and on harder surfaces, along with the extra space I would love it up there. Anywhere else in that cabin would be extremely cramped though.

Powered cooler and toilet under rear seat would be great! Could get away with sink washes but could always have a solar shower a d fill it with warm water!
No need for toilets or shower in Japan.there are free clean public toilet everywhere, plus 24/7 convenience store toilets on almost every corners. And cheap onsen (~¥500) easily accessible, onsen are natural hot water spa or public bath (sento). Japan is the best for van life.
