Yeah, I can imagine Darth Vader felt lonely without Padme and his mother after all those years. Then he hears the news his son is alive and some part of himself feel less alone.
I believe he also was happy, to find out he had a son, it gave him hope that he didn’t lose *everything* with Padmes death. Which is why he wanted Luke to join him and the emperor, instead of killing him.

What doesn't make sense? This: According to Lucas' "genius" writing, Anakin was told by the emperor that he killed Padme in his anger, not mentioning the children at all. Anakin probably made the, from his perspective, logical conclusion that she died while pregnant, shortly after he choked her. "So apparently I didn't kill Padme in my anger, since she still managed to go into labor afterwards." "Well, you see..."
MusicIs l0v Maybe they could have gotten rid of the “I have a son line” and kept everything the same. He would appear to be mad since he ‘found the culprit’ to the Death Star, but after the first viewing one would realize the true meaning.
Jacob J Yeah that actually might have been a great idea. Not only would they have thought that Vader was pissed off at Luke Skywalker, audiences would've figured Vader was also recalling back to that time where Obiwan told Luke that Vader had killed Anakin Skywalker. This would've made the reveal even more impactful that he was actually thinking about how he had a son instead. I still like how it went down though just fine.

To finally learn his family isnt completely lost, that Padme isn't completely lost. After coming to terms with being a monster? I love the voice acting for this, especially his line "he will be mine." to me he sounds like Anikin again when he says that, like there's a part of the old Jedai Knight coming to the surface for a second before Vader crushes it back down with "It will all be mine."
Can we take a moment to recognize that the glass keeping the room from the vacuum of space was very well designed to withstand the might of Vader's fury?
2:54 did you guys notice when Vader says “he will be mine, it will all be mine” his voice is a mixture of Vader’s and Anakin’s voice? It’s like upon learning the truth about having a son, Anakin comes back, that’s why In return of the Jedi, Vader’s aggressive nature is almost completely gone
2:52 'He will be mine.' Chills absolute chills. Just makes you wonder what would have happened if Vader had successfully captured Luke. What would he have done to make Luke 'his'? Edit:Hello so I was going through my comments history and I stumbled on this comment. So I just want to clarify that this comment is meant in a purely platonic sense. I really didn't mean for it sound so creepy. Anyway fare thee well.
Probably something along the lines of what Vader did with Starkiller in Legends; he'd train Luke hard but fair, and turn him into his equal, and even superior. There would be no rivalry or secrets between them. Vader would love his son, even if it's jack-booted Sith love, and Luke would come to love his father. They'd kill Palpatine, and while I doubt Vader could run the entire Empire on his own like Palpatine did, he could amass enough followers to start a petty Sith Empire under himself, which would emerge as one of several new powers after Palpatine's death. And eventually, Vader would either surrender the title of Master and Sith Emperor to his son, or Luke would kill him ritualistically for it, continuing the Rule of Two in a dynastic fashion.
God words cannot describe how much I would love an animated series in the clone wars art style about the events of the original trilogy, it would be perfect
Excellent Job-You would make a great film editor-You use of images to leave just enough to imagination is brilliant. These scenes would be great to actually film it
"I cannot belive that... the old creep with monster face and monster voice, wearing a creepy black cloak, shooting lightning out of his fingers, constantly talking about world domination,, who has ordered me to murder people multiple times.... has lied to me".
I LOVE he flash backs to Annakin and his memories...WHY didn't Lucas or Abrams consider this? Annakin could have had a far more interesting story being Vader..rather than being a cold hearted killer. I think this was the beginnning of the crack between Vader and Palpatine.
abrams only made movie 7 (9 is ot a jj abrams movie even visually and it shows). so he had no say in what happens before. also lucas didn,t care about the extended uiverse
I always thought it was incredibly stupid that Yoda and Obi-Wan allowed Luke to keep his last name. Incredibly stupid. Why not name him Lars? Or Amidala? No one even knew Anakin was the father, for Christ’s sake.
Because Owen and Beru would have a lot of explaining to do when Luke finds out that his Father last name is Skywalker. After all he grew up in the same area that his father did, everyone knew this father as Anakin Skywalker, step brother of Owen. After all it's not everyday that a slave is set free with the help from the Jedi's (qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi), they will remember that Owen had a step brother Anakin Skywalker. So if Owen is raising his nephew, then that means he's a Skywalker.
Dean Holzapfel its not a contradiction. Vader found out about Luke and was going to find him and train him in secret to overthrow and defeat the emperor. Which is why he offered Luke to join him to do just that in The Empire Strikes Back. He played ignorant when the emperor found out so that the emperor wouldn't suspect Vader's plan.
He found out about Luke from Boba Fett straight after A New Hope and before Episode 5. You can see it in Empire Strikes Back when the probe droid discovered the rebel base on Hoth and Vader commands the invasion of Hoth. Vader says 'That is the rebel base. And I'm sure that Skywalker is with them'. When afterwards Palpatine tells Vader that he has a son, Vader plays stupid. That is a classic scene of relationship between the Sith master and apprentice - both are trying to fool each other. Palpatine wants a replacement for Vader, and Vader wants to overthrow Palpatine
I will say that most of the so called hardcore fans today sound like they never seen the original trilogy movies as they say stuff that's just plain wrong. In this case there's 2 parts that tell you Vader knew before hand. 1st is when they find the shield generator on Hoth and proclaims the rebels are there and Skywalker was with them. He was adamant about it and when rewatched it's almost like he was frantic with his wanting to find him. Almost like he had to get him before the emperor did. And second after being told by the emperor he didn't hesitate an option other than death. It was like he already thought this part out. Also makes sense that he killed off officer after officer as he had to get to Luke and turn him before the emperor could get him. He knew that was his son and even took his super star destroyer into asteroid field to get the bait for the trap. All before being told. This guy has it right.
In the original version of Empire, Vader doesn't say that to the emperor. Basically the Emperor and Vader already knew before the second film that Luke was the son of Anakin, which is why Vader was obsessed with finding him. It was changed by Lucas in the recent versions for some reason.
Hannah Skeldon Vader didn’t exactly have much time to process the revelation since he found it out during Return of the Jedi when he was fighting Luke.
And then in Empire, when the Emperor tells Vader that the Rebel who destroy the Death Star is the offspring of Anakin, Vader is acting like “how’s is that possible”
The emperor is in a very deep hole with Vader man I have the feeling Vader will want to kill Palpatine for lying to him about how padme died and like and Leia died with her
Actually speechless cause we know how much anikin loved anything having to do with padme after her death even her ship brough him memories and now after so long his heart started to beat one last time realizing he has a son and palpatine is a asshole :.( honestly why couldn’t Disney Just fucking make the movies based off the cannon comics like FFFFFF *flips table*
Don’t forget in esb vader gets confirmation form palpatine. I like to think he asked the emperor about Luke skywalker and if he is who he says he in and palpatine is thinking “well shit he found out. Might as well roll with it” and confirmed he is his son
Considering Anakin was conceived through the Force, he, his mother Shmi (who was killed by Tusken Raiders), and his son Luke are they only people in the galaxy to have the name Skywalker. Padme Amidala, while married to Anakin, never took his surname since their marriage was forbidden. Leia is a Skywalker by birth and blood, but has taken her adopted name Organa, and her married name Solo (or so I think she may have). And of course Ben Solo/Kylo Ren has Skywalker blood in him with the heritage of his mother, his uncle, and his grandfather.
there are like 7 billion people x 400 billion stars. It wouldn't be surprising to find someone with the same last name. Heck I got like 7 Lees in my class
I Wonder that How he find out the name of his son, Maybe Ahsoka told him before Vader descover Leia that Is his daughter. Then Anakin made a sad remorse when he Remember that he Attack for nothing Obi-Wan on Mapuzo and then nine years later he kills him on Death Star without ti find out about that Obi-Wan help Padme to give Luke and Leia birth as he didn't knowed that Ahsoka was on Padme's funeral.
Wonder how much more powerful Vader could have been if he wasn't injured from his fight with Obiwan? I can visually think of Vader being able own Sidious if force lightning wasn't his weakness.
Daniel Fitzgerald yes but Vader knew about Luke before the Emperor did. He was going to find and train Luke to kill Palpatine. When the emperor told Vader, Vader played dumb to keep his plan a secret. This is why Vader asked Luke to join him to defeat the Emperor.

Jesus, the amount of rage in that room must be so thick youd choke on it. (not a force choke pun.) I love the voice acting for this, especially his line "he will be mine." to me he sounds like Anikin again when he says that, like there's a part of the old Jedai Knight coming to the surface for a second before Vader crushes it back down with "It will all be mine."
Can we take a moment to recognize that the glass keeping the room from the vacuum of space was very well designed to withstand the might of Vader's fury?
i feel at this point anakin started to come back slowley but surely
Jesse G yes so do I. That's why I think if he had learned about his children sooner he would have come back to the light sooner as well
Boba Fett understood that name meant something to Vader. Definitely was wise on his part to leave when he did.
Funky to hear Vaders knuckles crack. Since he has none.......
Dirk Otsen it was the glass cracking
It was the leather cracking
It's really touching when he says (he he will be mine it it will all be mine) and then my heart breaks for him
I think Sidious knew about Vader's son after the first death star was destroyed.
mikey1974 hetfield of course audio is knew. He even told Vader in the Empire Strikes Back "The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi."
I wouldn't be surprised if he knew in Episode 3
Justin Okraski Oh Please. Now you're being just being ridiculous.
Jamal Vines if Vader knew that Obi-Wan hid Luke and Leiah why didn't he not go after them and kill them?
Jamal Vines only Luke kept the last name Skywalker. Not Leiah. What'd you mean by UUUMMM?
When you are so angry you trigger red alert in the star trek universe.
sixyears Behold The Power of the Force and the Star Wars Universe. 😂
*At this moment palpatine knew......he messed up*
Better than the entire movie of the Last Jedi
Oh how much I would've loved to have seen this on the big screen. It would've been such a captivating moment.
It wasn’t creepy to me, I know what you meant by it.
I can't wait until they eventually do a live shoot of this just to get the real voice, the real emotions.
Star Wars: A Star Wars Story
Brilliant idea!
Brilliant, Brilliant!
Having this in the movie would've spoiled the biggest surprise in movie history.
I want to know what he might have think of Leia being his daughter. We all know his relationship with her was WAY worse than with Luke.
bails faulth imo
i have a son??????!!!!! hishe voice
And this is the moment where Vader started to accept the name "Anakin Skywalker" once more (despite of his denial).
We need a "Darth Daddy: A Star Wars Story"
Great job on this! Chills the whole way.
I would love it if, they made a film based on how Darth Vader found Luke is his son.
I think he put too much effort into cracking the glass. A simple NNOOOOOOOOO!!! would have done the trick.
This is honestly extremely depressing and emotional
Aren´t those Alarm Sounds from the Enterprise? ;)
I love how you included the "reveal" theme from Empire Strikes Back.
This scene in a Film Would be Amazing
Calling it right now, this scene will be added into the new “kenobi” series
You called it wrong
Oh when that hit him. He probably would have reach all the way to the Emperor's Thrown room and simply snapped his neck through the force.
Because he was with his uncle en aunt. Their last name is skywalker
Jimmy Bruh
No, the uncle and aunt are Owen and Beru Lars.
Okay
Because Owen and Beru would have a lot of explaining to do when Luke finds out that his Father last name is Skywalker. After all he grew up in the same area that his father did, everyone knew this father as Anakin Skywalker, step brother of Owen. After all it's not everyday that a slave is set free with the help from the Jedi's (qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi), they will remember that Owen had a step brother Anakin Skywalker. So if Owen is raising his nephew, then that means he's a Skywalker.
But Obi-Wan did know Anakin was the father?
"Anakin is the father isn't he? I'm so sorry.."
Didn’t the emperor tell him in empire strikes back? The offspring of skywalker comment, and Vader is like that’s not possible.
Anthony Daubs yes he did. There have been a ton of stuff in these new comics that take place during the OT that contradicts things in the movies.
Wow he was very pissed off when he found out Palpatine lied to him. I wonder how he felt when he found out he had a daughter too.
Hannah Skeldon Vader didn’t exactly have much time to process the revelation since he found it out during Return of the Jedi when he was fighting Luke.
Laserbeak316 For sure he was smiling behind that mask
We Definitely need a Darth Vader show just so I can see this in Live Action.
Is that Star Trek sounds lmfao
And then in Empire, when the Emperor tells Vader that the Rebel who destroy the Death Star is the offspring of Anakin, Vader is acting like “how’s is that possible”
it's called, playing dumb
Darth Vader...
YOUUUUUU ARE THE FATHER!!!
Choice 1: Vader be like “NOOOOOOO”
Choice: Hey Everyone I HAVE A SON :P
Really well done with The sound and music, they should make a scene like that and stick itInto one of the prequel films.
One way to really destabilize Vader would be to suggest ANAKIN Skywalker never died. That some jedi had taken that name to restore hope.
The emperor is in a very deep hole with Vader man I have the feeling Vader will want to kill Palpatine for lying to him about how padme died and like and Leia died with her
Goddamn, that was perfect. Nice job.
2:23 and on or so... I believe that is the Red Alert from Star Trek m8... great video though gave me chills
Interesting would be if he said on the end: Nobody will take him from me!!
this video is awesome, you can fell the surprise, the tension and even vader fury and hatred, to whoever made this congratulations.
Yes, Darth Vader found out he had a son. And you know what he did? He started giving out cigars. He's proud of his son.
I would pay to see this in the Obi Wan Kenobi series
I’m really hoping they involve this scene in the Book of Boba. Would really do justice for an incredible scene from the comic books.
I was counting on the glass to fracture with the bounty hunter sucked out into space, and Vader still standing there saying, “I have a son!”
Don’t forget in esb vader gets confirmation form palpatine. I like to think he asked the emperor about Luke skywalker and if he is who he says he in and palpatine is thinking “well shit he found out. Might as well roll with it” and confirmed he is his son
it is hard to see his pain in the heart
wait, I HAVE A DAUGHTER TOO!? THIS IS.. WONDERFUL
are they the only skywalker i the whole galaxy
jorden Wangdi yes, though his sister is also one, but doesnt take the last name as skywalker
KaioConnor what about Shmi's parents. I know we never met them but she still has parents that were also Skywalkers
can you please take the time to learn how to speak english
pardon
the music would've been much better by itself without you stomping that coke bottle filled with bubble wrap at 2:20
“God damn it now I gotta pay off all those years of child support”
there are like 7 billion people x 400 billion stars. It wouldn't be surprising to find someone with the same last name. Heck I got like 7 Lees in my class
Ye lol
:45 “NO, THATS NOT TRUE, THATS IMPOSSIBLE!” “NOOOOOOOOOO!!!”
The amount of loneliness and heartbreak... and then boom his son shows up it must've been too much id probably break down.
1:19 Did Vader's robotic knuckles crack or was that the window starting to crack? 😂
Yes.
This would be amazing to see in live action
You shoukd do more bro was awesome!!! 🤘🤘🤘
You can tell Vader is shook when he is like “oh shit I forgot I have a son”.
He didn't know he had a son.
The Emperor has some explaining to do.
Nicely done
Wonder how much more powerful Vader could have been if he wasn't injured from his fight with Obiwan? I can visually think of Vader being able own Sidious if force lightning wasn't his weakness.
The moment Anakin starts coming back. The moment he finds out he has a son,
Pretty sure Palpatine told Vader in the Empire strikes back about Luke.
Daniel Fitzgerald yes but Vader knew about Luke before the Emperor did. He was going to find and train Luke to kill Palpatine. When the emperor told Vader, Vader played dumb to keep his plan a secret. This is why Vader asked Luke to join him to defeat the Emperor.
lurasman Which comic did you read about this pls, sound cool ?
Retarded ???? I ask very nicely, I don't want to take time and money to buy and read bunch of things that not what I'm looking for. Who know if it's featured in some other series or not, may be, not saying Canon or Legends ...etc. Respect people ask you for help !
Mizuki Ishihara ignore the troll
Fred News Learn grammar.
I started breathing in sync with Vader lol
This video is freaking perfect.
And he learns that the emperor lied to him......
If that window had shattered and Vader was blown out into space - he would have flown back - just like Mary Poppins y'all.
