I think your list is pretty accurate, definitely love the legacy spino. I recently scored the large electronic Spino from JP3 on ebay for a decent price, definitely a top contender for my favorite. I actually prefer the paint job on it over the legacy, especially comparing them in person. I'd definitely recommend the JP3 one for Spinosaurus fans if they can manage to find one that's affordable. Love all my Spinos!
What I don't understand about Mattel's Spinosaurus crisis is that they advertised it back in April a few days after the toyline's first wave came out, yet it's only out in retailers in the UK... and in the US the only chance we had to get it was the very limited time slot it was available on Target's website and only a handful of people got lucky. It hasn't been restocked since. The US has a such a high demand for it but for some reason Mattel keeps being secretive and nobody is stocking it. And yet??? They keep advertising new things like the Quest for Indominus Rex set, the Slime line, and the Interactive Blue and they made those available to everyone almost right away. Mattel is making amazing Jurassic stuff but I swear the way they are marketing and distributing some of these things makes absolutely no sense.
Bret Buckley I can’t find a Spinosaurus in the Phoenix area anywhere. I had a Target employee look up their database and no Target store in a 250 mile radius has it in stock. He was more baffled then I was.
What's also baffling was the amount of bogus rumored release dates. I heard it was the week of Fallen Kingdom's release, the last week of June, then I heard July 13th, then it was July 27th - maybe August 6th. That time frame I asked a Target employee to scan the item code and she told me "yeah we're not getting this thing in anytime soon." We're now 3 weeks into September and it's still an ongoing mystery. I simply do not understand what is taking so bloody long for Mattel to put this thing out in the US.

But wave 2 came in very inconsistently...and now we already have wave 3 attack packs and some people are finding Zia and the Mercenary w/ Ankylosaurus. Like???? Where is everything else that was supposed to be released months ago? I have a hard time believing they cancelled it, looking at how high the demand is for it in the US, and a lot of American collectors are losing their patience and forking over $60 - $70 by giving into scalper prices overseas. Either Mattel is playing games and taking their sweet ass time releasing it to American buyers, or Target is being stubborn and not moving enough shit to the clearance rack to make shelf space for it.
The lost world spinosaurs and JP3 spinosaurus represent what we thought the spinosaurus looked like during that time. Today now we know it walked in all fours and ate fish more than other dinosaurs

Sorry to say but the reason why the lost world spino looks like that is because before jp3 spinosaurus was thought to be a tyrannosaurus with a sail and long arms so that was accurate for it's time until jp3 came ofc
Having the animatronic one as a kid easily seals it for me completely biased but I do think it is the best one. The mattel one for me just looks off the scaling and sculpt doesn’t look correct to me
Maybe so but I still feel it was different enough to be included because its legs were not hard plastic the whole body had the rubbery feel body and and the fact that I can move with remote control egg versus just pressing a button on the body of the toys. However nice video

I finally saved up enough to get my first JP Spino figure. I got the aqua version of the JP III Re-Attk one, it's actually harder to find then the brown one. I find it to be one of the most accurate Spino figures I've seen accept of course for the scale. He's way to damn small compared to my Baryonyx and Ceratosaurus modules from the newly released Fallen Kingdom collection. Buti stil love the middle none the less. P.S. If anyone has seen the show Dinosaur King the colour palette of the aqua Spino is very similar to the one in that show. Coincidence?
The Lost World: Jurassic Park Spinosaurus may not be the best Spinosaurus in the Lost World Jurassic Park Kenner toy line because of it’s inaccurate reconstruction, but I believed that it having four fingers would look more powerful if it was in the actual movie. The Lost World Spinosaurus figure itself looks too small inside it’s cardboard prison so I kinda wished if they made the tail longer and the figure a bit taller

Well they most likely didn’t have the fossils from the elongated snout and only had the back of the head but just thought it was like a trex until baryonyx was discovered but still believed it had a short snout until the early 2000s
My argument for the Lost World spino is that they never knew what the spinosaurus looked like, that it had a long snout. So, I guess you could say the toy is outdated.
The lost world spino has the different head because at that time a Spino Skull hadn't been discovered. The original villain of JP3 was Baryonyx but it's suspected they were promted tobchange to Spinosaurus because a skull was finally discovered not long before the film production began.
Olly's Props it’s skull was discovered they just didn’t have enough of it and stromer thought it would look like a giant trex with a sail when he discovered it anyways so that’s what it was always drawn like that in book until after jp3

The 2001 animatronic and Mattel ones are the best for sure. Forgot to mention the infrared remote control Spinosaurus from the 2001 line. Having all the big ones that one is the worst but it is one. Also old lost world one just shows how much we have learned about the creature in a short period.

The best spinos in my opinion would be the mattel and animatronic since those fit into scale the best and the re ak attack spino is just meh I don't love it as much as many do it's just too small and can't stand well

Yeah it is a bummer. They still haven’t hit retailers in the US and getting them online is a real pain.
What I plan on doing is to wait until around Christmas and if it still isn't in stock, I'll have one shipped from the UK.
