I think I read somewhere that the torque converter stays closed or something like that which allows it to shift so fast. Someone correct me because I have a feeling I’m wrong
I could listen to that glorious sound for hours! I have a manual-swapped GS400 and it’s a lot of fun and everything, but the ISF is my dream car, hands down. I swear I’d rather have a FBO ISF than some flashy exotic supercar.
Man I feel like when Lexus produce a crazy fast car is just more exciting than German brands. Because you got the speed , luxury and most importantly reliability all together.
My first car was a gs400. I did basically everything i could do to mod it, bbk, tc, intake, exhaust, teins, volk wheels etx Inwent on the isf and now a gsf.. but the gs400 was the car i miss the most. Inhad the most fiun with gs400.. Isf is a very good car but back are very small for car seats so it had to go.
@@uz1144 I hear a lot of people say this actually. The GS400 is very solid, but by today’s standards it’s under-powered and too grandpa like. It would make a great daily driver while the FBO ISF sits in the garage during crappy weather. It’s too bad the ISFs are all inflated in price along with every other car right now…
@@ForwardMomentum well isf is about 14 yrs old too, isf / gsf are not too quick. I think the feeling is where its at. Isf would a great upgrade - but yes tgese days used cars prices are nuts.
I’m a true euro guy, but the isf is without a doubt my favorite Japanese car, v8 sedans are my passion and I feel like Lexus actually made something up my alley, I’d take this na v8 any day over any other jdm engine

I’ve learned quite a bit watching your videos and reading comments and your responses so I/we thank you for that!! I just got my 11’ ISF and still have my 07 AWD IS250 what an upgrade it has been in all aspects it’s crazy…the Borla cat back exhaust on it makes a nice deep purr and the VLAND taillights add a nice difference from the OEM and are easy to install. I’m keeping them both forever!! Thanks again for all this good content!

I love the ISF l. I sold mine and have been living in regret. The GSF has my attention now. I also love how the ISF community prides themselves on maliciously maintaining them.
This is one of few performance cars that only come with an automatic gearbox (no manual option) where I just don't care! That sound mixed with that gearbox just goes together so damn well! Love the sound of WOT out of the corners.
Love this brother. I currently have the money and credit to afford a lot of cars that people drool over in 2024 from a luxury stand point to a tuner toy. From type R Civic's, mk8 Golf R, M340i, 840i, rs3, c63, all these are within reach and more. But I just told the Wife, that I rather go for an IsF and make it my daily. I can get a luxury cruiser later. The F came out when I was in my senior year in high school, and while other people were dreaming about Stangs's, Wrx's, Camaro's, etc. I would spend days at a time looking up pictures and videos about the F. I will have one soon, and which ever I get, will never be sold again.

I think it's the fastest shifting non dual clutch transmission out there. Shifting in 1/10th of a second. Hard to believe this transmission existed back in 2008!

@@Boogieman_1989Garbageehhhhh the GR v6s are known to break 200k miles and much more with great maintenance, they wouldn't put it on their best selling mid size truck if it wasn't reliable. Also the gearing on the 2nd gen IS350s were wild for it being a 6 speed auto, tuned and FBO they're in the high to even mid 4 seconds in 0-60, plenty of great IS350 builds out there, just don't expect any high end power gains but they're still respectable cars. But I'm going to buy an ISF soon from someone local, I'm excited as hell for that, nothing beats the sound or the torque on the other hand
I want to see more on how you put the vehicle in gear & do your donuts. It looks like you put it in 1st gear, modulate the gas, & counter with steering wheel? When you roll out you switch to 2nd? The ending of the video actually worked out. I wanted to see what the steering wheel is doing. Thank you for posting!
Traction and stability control off, manual mode, 1st gear, break tires loose then modulate blips of throttle according to where and how much I want the rear end to slide. I’ll get better videos of sliding eventually.

I deleted all my socials, but I do have a fb account just for car groups and market place. I do plan on making another pov video this year. This time it will be in the mountains where I moved to recently. I haven’t been able to compare dragy data fairly considering I’m at altitude now, and before I was at sea level. As far as the tune though, I love it. Loi worked with me on 7 different revisions until he got the fuel just right. 7400 rpm red line now, converter stays locked, shifts are much more affirmative, and the low end torque picked up between 2500-4500 rpm is the biggest difference imo.
Really happy to be getting on of these in the next 7-10 working days. MY10 model bone stock. Plan the following; RR-Racing Tune PPE headers (RHD) True dual exhaust custom built RR-Racing intake kit. Will be documenting each step with dyno and 1/4 tests
@@Highlander1432 Mine was the cheapest from a dealer in the country at $42,000. It has done 145,000km or 90,000 mile. Getting later models with less than 100,000km or 62,000 miles the prices are $60,000 upwards. That is a huge difference. One MY13 here with just 60,000km or 37,000 miles is $74,000...... Mine has a number of cosmetic issues that are easily fixed. biggest issue is the valley leak but that will be done under warranty.
You needa do some weight reduction on those tree fresheners jk haha. The ISF looks super fun especially with those turns v8, light nimble, fast sounds amazing. This was a true sports car by Lexus. I have the 4is is350 It's a great daily, but this looks like it's on another level sport wise. might get one in the future who knows the prices are crazy rn for these.
Hey brotha. I’ve commented on your channel before I just test drove my first ISF and I noticed the transmission was pretty slow and somewhat jerky when driving slowly in manual mode is this normal?
You can’t lose buying one stock or with bolt ons. I’ve owned this for almost 3 years and put 25,000 miles on it. The only thing I’ve had to have done was the valley plate reseal which is pretty much the only guaranteed issue you will have with the ISF. Other than that your ownership will consist of replacing brake pads, rotors, tires, and oil changes.
Hey man! Im looking at potentially buying an ISF in the next month, and I’ve got a viewing with one thats 08’ fully blacked on a nice set of 19’s with an RR tune but fully stock besides that. Its sitting on 105k miles with a good service history with regular oil changes every 4-5k miles and has had trans and diff fluids replaced aswell. It’s selling for 14.5k USD which is very cheap compared to what you can get these for in the US I’ve heard. They don’t seem to have appreciated as much here in New Zealand as they have elsewhere which is super lucky. Any thoughts? Thanks!
How did you managed to put 285 in the rear, I did a square setup on mine with RPF1 18x10 +38, It has 275/40R18, and i'm rubbing. (I'm dropped on HKS Hypermax) Tire's are Nexen N Fera Sport R

Yes I have the oem lsd diff. Rr didn’t tune the trans as far as I know. I have tune from loi Tran now and he tuned the trans and it shifts even better.

Drive her harder/more aggressive. Headers also are the biggest NA power gains for this car. I went from 388whp on dyno jet to the next day with headers 423whp.
Ik I'm late to the party but hopefully you'll respond but I just bought one recently and it's got the same setup except I have sikky headers and stock suspension I'm running stock tire size and it spins like crazy ik you listed the tire size your running but is that on stock rims or aftermarket because I plan on keeping stock wheels but need a bigger tire size for sure so was wondering about performance with those tires? I Read some forums about this but not sure exactly what size width and profile would work best on stock rim
Depends on the year isf you have. The later years had wider oem rear wheels I believe. I’m running 19x9.5 wheels in the rear with 285/30 firehawk indy 500 tires. Stock tire size isn’t wide enough for fbo for sure I understand. I believe widest you can run on the 9” wide oem rear wheels is a 275. I want to say 2012+ wheels are 9.5”

Yeah that's what I've heard I have a 08 so looks like I'm going to have to go with a 275 rear and I plan on getting Michelin ps4s so it should hook up with those especially since the current tires are all seasons and they only have about half life left... Yeah the first time I hit it with the stock tires and the fbo setup that thing was all over the place I was like WoooooooW 😂😂. I love the car you can't beat the sound power and reliability of these things there's AWESOME!!!

Clean car. Keep it for as long as possible. Things are so hard too find in low miles & good condition. Let alone year too.

8 speed autos are the best! The shift fast, are super aggressive and just give GREAT performance overall from an automatic transmission!

@@Boogieman_1989Garbageehhhhh the GR v6s are known to break 200k miles and much more with great maintenance, they wouldn't put it on their best selling mid size truck if it wasn't reliable. Also the gearing on the 2nd gen IS350s were wild for it being a 6 speed auto, tuned and FBO they're in the high to even mid 4 seconds in 0-60, plenty of great IS350 builds out there, just don't expect any high end power gains but they're still respectable cars.
But I'm going to buy an ISF soon from someone local, I'm excited as hell for that, nothing beats the sound or the torque on the other hand

I want to see more on how you put the vehicle in gear & do your donuts. It looks like you put it in 1st gear, modulate the gas, & counter with steering wheel? When you roll out you switch to 2nd? The ending of the video actually worked out. I wanted to see what the steering wheel is doing. Thank you for posting!
Traction and stability control off, manual mode, 1st gear, break tires loose then modulate blips of throttle according to where and how much I want the rear end to slide. I’ll get better videos of sliding eventually.

I deleted all my socials, but I do have a fb account just for car groups and market place. I do plan on making another pov video this year. This time it will be in the mountains where I moved to recently. I haven’t been able to compare dragy data fairly considering I’m at altitude now, and before I was at sea level. As far as the tune though, I love it. Loi worked with me on 7 different revisions until he got the fuel just right. 7400 rpm red line now, converter stays locked, shifts are much more affirmative, and the low end torque picked up between 2500-4500 rpm is the biggest difference imo.

Getting later models with less than 100,000km or 62,000 miles the prices are $60,000 upwards. That is a huge difference. One MY13 here with just 60,000km or 37,000 miles is $74,000......
Mine has a number of cosmetic issues that are easily fixed. biggest issue is the valley leak but that will be done under warranty.

Hey brotha. I’ve commented on your channel before I just test drove my first ISF and I noticed the transmission was pretty slow and somewhat jerky when driving slowly in manual mode is this normal?
yes this is the torque converter that needs to lock if you are bringing it to redline or close to it, shifts are within .1 seconds.
Just wonder about your experience of owning the ISF, did it have any problem at all? Should I purchase a stock or modified one?
You can’t lose buying one stock or with bolt ons. I’ve owned this for almost 3 years and put 25,000 miles on it. The only thing I’ve had to have done was the valley plate reseal which is pretty much the only guaranteed issue you will have with the ISF. Other than that your ownership will consist of replacing brake pads, rotors, tires, and oil changes.

Hey man! Im looking at potentially buying an ISF in the next month, and I’ve got a viewing with one thats 08’ fully blacked on a nice set of 19’s with an RR tune but fully stock besides that. Its sitting on 105k miles with a good service history with regular oil changes every 4-5k miles and has had trans and diff fluids replaced aswell. It’s selling for 14.5k USD which is very cheap compared to what you can get these for in the US I’ve heard. They don’t seem to have appreciated as much here in New Zealand as they have elsewhere which is super lucky. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Yes I have the oem lsd diff. Rr didn’t tune the trans as far as I know. I have tune from loi Tran now and he tuned the trans and it shifts even better.

I think the ppe dual exhaust system sounds good with headers. Idk how it sounds with stock manifolds.

My 2013isF seems like it doesn't downshift as fast as yours but I'm not sure :c I took out mufflers, resonator, and 2 cats, with rr racing tune.
Drive her harder/more aggressive. Headers also are the biggest NA power gains for this car. I went from 388whp on dyno jet to the next day with headers 423whp.
from your experience do you think 255 michelin ps4's on the rears are good enough?
Depends on power mods, driver, and suspension set up. I wouldn’t run 255s on mine, but I drive it like an ape.

Ik I'm late to the party but hopefully you'll respond but I just bought one recently and it's got the same setup except I have sikky headers and stock suspension I'm running stock tire size and it spins like crazy ik you listed the tire size your running but is that on stock rims or aftermarket because I plan on keeping stock wheels but need a bigger tire size for sure so was wondering about performance with those tires? I Read some forums about this but not sure exactly what size width and profile would work best on stock rim
Depends on the year isf you have. The later years had wider oem rear wheels I believe. I’m running 19x9.5 wheels in the rear with 285/30 firehawk indy 500 tires. Stock tire size isn’t wide enough for fbo for sure I understand. I believe widest you can run on the 9” wide oem rear wheels is a 275. I want to say 2012+ wheels are 9.5”

Yeah that's what I've heard I have a 08 so looks like I'm going to have to go with a 275 rear and I plan on getting Michelin ps4s so it should hook up with those especially since the current tires are all seasons and they only have about half life left... Yeah the first time I hit it with the stock tires and the fbo setup that thing was all over the place I was like WoooooooW 😂😂. I love the car you can't beat the sound power and reliability of these things there's AWESOME!!!
