I hate that the writers made her end up with Damon, like sure they were hot but they were extremely toxic and just made Elena become an unlikable character - Stefan was always a better choice.
In season 4 she said "I didn't sleep with Damon because of the sire bond,I slept with Damon because I'm in love with him" when she said that put a huge whole though my heart and my emotions I had was gone I was soooo devastated that I wanted to break my tv lol

Julie said IF NINA HAD NOT LEFT, STEFAN AND ELENA WOULD HAVE BEEN ENDGAME, LIKE THE BOOKS. She also said who she had paired up as endgame with other characters. Very interesting
It's the doppelganger magic/curse thing. I think they we're gonna make them born exactly 500 years years after each other. I guess it turned out to be an unnecessary complication. Plus it would have been hard to prove Tatia's birth date. And then the whole Silas/Amara/Tessa storyline wouldn't have made sense since Tom existed and Stefan wasn't 500 years older than him.
Yeah, I imagine that was why they deleted that scene mentioning her birthday. They probably changed their mind about her age, so the scene no longer fit.
To be honest I stopped watching the vampire diaries after Elena chose Damon over Stefan,but then I thought maybe Elena and Stefan will find their way back to each other so I looked it up and they were supposed to find their way back to each other so I continued to watch vampire diaries and they it was bullshit (because Stefan and Elena didn't find their way back to each other) I got devastated and it freaked me out but I got to the end where Stefan died and I was even more angry😡🤬
