  • Guys, thanks for watching. And I would buy this again. BUT, I did load 12 in this Maverick 88. And for whatever reason, had 3 malfunctions. The spent round successfully was ejected. And the new round appeared to be successfully in the chamber, BUT, the trigger wasn't resetting. So, I couldn't shoot the next round, until I cycled it again, ejecting a good unfired round. I need more experience shooting these shells. We'll do it again and see if it gets better.
Now, if this system (12 Gauge w/ adaptor for 1 3/4) was reliable, it would be great. This 20" Maverick 88 holds 12 in the tube. With one in the chamber you would have 13 12 Gauge shots. That is a lot of firepower. If you're shooting slugs, we are talking about 13 - 70 Caliber shots. We're talking serious energy coming out of the muzzle with serious capacity. BUT, I did this twice, loaded up with 12 and had too many malfunctions for me to rely on this. All that said I would buy it again. Not everything in a gunsafe is your go to weapon. Sometimes us hillbillies just buy things because we WANT them. No reason needed! Thanks again for watching.

Looks like fun. Would they do better in a semi-auto shotgun?

You know it might. Someone said I may be short cycling it. And that may be right since the trigger isn't resetting. And if it were reliable...having a capacity of 13 is serious business! But, over the weekend I am gonna give it another shot and we'll see.
