All the people saying "mind your own business," that is not our traditional African way. We help each other and help people in trouble. Besides, Jesus Himself said treat others the way you want to be treated. If you were in trouble, you would want people to come running to help you instead of "minding their own business." This episode also sheds light on a societal issue of abuse of house help. The employer is supposed to sponsor the house help's education and training in exchange for their work (which does often happen), but many times house help are abused physically and even sexually. House help are people's children too.

I don't like Toyosi at all. She's extremely sanctimonious and hypocritical. Is she not the one that told Jenifa to take Dayo back? Then she wonders why Jenifer won't confide in her. She lacks empathy and compassion. Jenifa is not her child, she doesn't need the constant I told you so. Just be there for her after you've given her your warning instead of always lording it over her, as if you are better than her. Toyo wants Jenifa to save but has no issue begging Jenifa for money. Has issues when Jenifa calls her out about her dirty ways, but always wants to correct Jenifa. The friendship is not equal at all. Toyo never told her parents how she essentially pushed Jenifa into living with Sege and then wanted to be preaching about living with a man
And how are Soji and Toyosi blaming Dayo's behavior on Jenifa??? Dayo's family was deceptive about his issues and somehow, Jenifa should have known. Even if she dated him for 5 years, she would never have known had he not stopped taking his medication. Toyosi never defends Jenifa and Soji is blaming her just because Jenifa was operating on Toyo's wrong information and defending her. Nonsense

You’re so on point. Toyosi is not a good friend at all. And she always treats and talks to Jenifa like they’re mates. She is lucky that Jenifa is a nice and humble person that doesn’t bear grudges and keep malice like Toyosi.
I appreciate jennifa's morals of at least standing up for people who can't help themselves. It concerns me that you people say that she should mind her business. This is why there's so much wah-ah-lah in this world. Put yourself in this situation. What if it had been your own sister or daughter and someone abused them.. to the point of blood? Are you serious?! Who would they run to? And for those of you who are marriage minded, are you not concerned that these people who were abused carry the abuse spirit with them to harm your own children?. This is not right.
