    There is definitely hope. I had a severe, debilitating case of hyperacusis that eventually went away. I still have tinnitus, but it’s very mild and doesn’t bother me at all. Every now and then, I’ll have periods of mild hearing sensitivity (usually due to very high levels of stress and exhaustion), but it’s never painful. All in all, I’m living a normal life now.

    The perfect step between silicone plugs and nothing is small cotton balls stuffed into the ears.
    Does a great job to filter out a few decibels for me and makes many situations more bearable!
    Just be careful and DO NOT make them too small, however, If they get stuck then they can be removed with tweezers!

I use Cowin E7 headset and just flick the switch and walk out the door, it makes driving and shopping easier. but I don't know what would be the step past that to try to move from having to have them to function outside my house. Hi Dr. Beb
    My tinnitus reacts to sounds , including my own voice. just only in left ear. or when i touch left side of my cheek, left side of my head tinnitus in my left ear tinnitus started at this moment. in quiet i dont have problem.
    I have no hearing loss. I have trouble handling louder noises now, but I guess it's mainly due to this tinnitus "spiking" under these noises. There is some tension in my ear but the sounds themselves don't hurt me - it's more like a constant discomfort.) in the moment of the sound and then goes down immediately. It's like it's „underlining“ the sounds. It destroys my ability to communicate: Whenever I speak louder, the tinnitus is „spiking“ under the more resonant syllables and letters of my speech.
    I woud like to ask you:
    In your opinion, is this a tinnitus related problem or a hyperacusis related problem?
    Tinnius in my ear starting when - i am tolking little bit loudly, poeple near me tolking loudly, voices in kitchen, plant, spoon,water in shower, fen makina, or when i cream my face i touch cheek or place near my left ear… bzzzz bzzz wushhh wushh 2 or 3 different sound in my ear.

    I don't understand how it's possible for anything to stop hyperacusis caused by certain external sources. For example i end up hearing a loud high pitch tone when my fridge compressor is running. The compressor doesn't actually make much sound but I hear it in a very amplified manner where it becomes a strong perceived tone. The difference between the minimal sound that is actually being produced by the compressor is nothing like what I end up hearing. There's a big wide gap there.

    • @whwh7339
      @whwh7339 2 года назад

      You need to protect against those types of noises for several months using earplugs. This video is actually great advice. You shouldn't be exposing yourself to the loud tone from the fridge at all, wear the plugs and muffs if necessary. You need to rest from that type of stuff before you improve.

      @@juancarlosnavas1 That's a common misconception. I have reactive tinnitus not well understood by hearing community. Only after I experienced long exposure to an alarm did I get this horrific condition. That wouldn't be the case with recruitment. My hearing tests are relatively normal within normal daily frequencies like speech. I do not require a hearing aid for hearing but have BTE aid for sound therapy with pink noise. My damage is mostly in high frequency ranges over 8kHZ.

      @@Ivy285 I suffer from tinnitus for about two years. Mainly in my right ear but sometimes it goes to the left ear as well. Hyperacusis for over a year. IQbuds 2 Max helped me immediately. You just have to adjust the "world IQ" in the app to your own needs. It's a blessing to me. It also helps with my tinnitus. It makes it more manageable. Like it blends in with the ambient sound around me. I have them now for a month. I'm going to buy a second pair so I can swap them on to go without waiting for them to charge. I also have low hearing lost (about 5%) in the high frequency. The IQ buds do help with my hearing lost as well.

    Thanks Dr. Ben. I guess its a bit confusing when a health organization like NIH says start slowly with white Noise, working way up more and more, and adamantly says NO EAR PLUGS, whereas here (and I have full respect to your qualifications) its kinda the opposite advice. I see positive testimonials from both sides. But I wonder what the science/evidence says? In my case, its a bit odd that I can listen to my favourite music on headphones - and regular volumes - and be fine...no pain, no "startled" response etc. and yet then walk into a cafe, take off the cans, and then be very annoyed/disturbed by the very soft ambient music being played and the voices of customers. I suppose there is a personal element to it and we all have to find what works best (in my case, also working to calm down my nervous system as I believe this is root cause).

    Dr.Ben I used to use headphones I full volume for like 15- 20 minutes regularly. I don't have any hearing loss or something but when I sit in a quiet room without any fan or AC I can feel the tinnitus. And whenever I keep full volume of the phone it feels like more annoying than before. Can I get benefitted by desensitization therapy? Is this a big problem that can't be cured ? Please help me with how should I proceed.

    Excellent video ! The only problem is once you go via those steps something happened …. It is always unexpected like loud car, loud motorcycle passing at your left-hand side on the road siren firetruck Dogbark. .. not sure how to save yourself from those events ? Also, if you have trauma induced, tinnitus and the sound sensitivity, is there a believe system that you will get damage even with safe sounds because you’re hearing cell is 0:30 0:30 much more damaged than normal people is it true?

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for your kind words about the video! One helpful tip is to always keep a pair of earplugs with you-in your car, bag, or anywhere easily accessible. It's also important to know that having sound sensitivity or tinnitus does not mean you're more likely to suffer damage from safe sounds compared to others. Your hearing cells are not necessarily more damaged, but your brain may be more sensitive to certain noises.

    Hello doctor,
    I think I'm suffering from this. I also realized that I'm not producing ear wax or little ear wax on my left ear. Everything started when I had a walkie very close to my ear a couple months ago. After that I’ve been feeling a fullness sensation or ear pain every time I hear a loud noise or if I go to a concert on my left ear. Also, my left ear feels itchy or wet like if it was leaking but nothing is coming out from it. I don't know if my Hyperacusis is related to the fact that I'm not producing any wax on my left ear. I went to the ENT and the doctor said that the ear discomfort was due to TMJ. The last symptom I've been experiencing is a little tinnitus on silent spaces. Any advice doctor?
    Thank you,
    Gustavo

      It may be quite true.... coz sudden loud noises like dozens of cars honking at the same time flare up my hyperacusis for atleast a week.... these weeks are truly imparing coz can't really tolerate birds chirping the stuff... give them atleast a week of rest and slowly introduce low to moderate sounds over the month to improve your acusis

      It's possible that your hyperacusis worsening recently could be related to the healing process from the ear trauma you experienced three months ago. t's essential to continue monitoring your symptoms and consult with your PCP to make sure there are no head injuries from the ear trauma

    Hi Doc.
    I had what it seems to be tinitus (sharp pain as a knife and sounds with the sensibility to all noises, even standing in front of a computer with 10% volume was a pain in my ears).
    Over a year it seems to be gone, only exception being that when I hear sharp noises, in musing, people voices, etc. I still have only the sharp pain in my left ear). Since then, two years have passed, but this issue still persists.
    Is it possible with some sound therapy or medicamentation to fully remove my left ear sensibility to sharp noises? I work in office and sometimes I need to use my headsets for meetings, but I cannot do that. Or if there is any headset who can remove the high intensity noises? It could be helpfull if I can use the headsets to 20-30% of volume.

    Hello, can anxiety cause hyperacusis? I went through a very traumatic period of anxiety in 2016, over time it led to tinnitus in the left ear, in addition to other unpleasant symptoms, hyperacusis appeared slightly in 2019, I barely felt it. In the last 6-12 months I feel a lot of tension in the jaws, I have bruxism and tension in the neck and traps. The tinnitus in my left ear is mild. I think that the pandemic, some current personal problems and others from the past not overcome may be the cause. I have started practicing meditation and yoga, I gave up coffee and anything else that might make me more nervous. My audiology doctor thinks my case is clearly due to anxiety. It is true that when I am on vacation for example and more relaxed my symptoms go down. What do you think? Excuse my english level. Thanks!
