Wow. This was an amazing tutorial. I wasn’t even interested in sewing a corset before watching it. But you made it seem like something I could actually achieve. Thank you for making this video and sharing it for free so we can learn.
Thank you! I want to make an inset, boned belt for a purchased shirtwaist dress. The top of the dress ends way before it meets my waist. This was extremely helpful. You do excellent work. I, too, like to use long threads. You might try waxing it before you stitch. It will be easier to work with.
Hello! I watched your neck collar video and you mentioned that you like the ends in the back to come close to meeting when it’s on. For this pattern, is the intention to keep it a bit too short to meet in the front so you can see the lacing? I would love to make one of these as a gift for a friend, love this video ❤
Hi! Yes, that’s exactly right. I believe I made them about 3-4” smaller than the waist measurement to allow for the gap where lacing. Thank you for watching! ♥️
Hey! I don’t unfortunately. I do have a video on how to make a pattern for a corset neck collar and you could apply those same techniques to the waist belt. If you don’t have a dress form you could use the tape method on your waist assuming you’re trying to make one for yourself. And then just mark your lines as I show in the neck collar video. Hopefully it’s helpful. Here’s the link - ruclips.net/video/HyFSkJk2kiM/видео.htmlsi=McB9GVTFbjldy6kD
