  • This next video from the Mokuhankan printmaking workshop in Tokyo is all about carving. Dave creates the block set that will be used to make the August prints in this year's subscription series: Embrace the Delight!
Bonus content includes a trip to his Ome home/workshop, glimpses of the Ninja who work/play across the street from the Asakusa shop, a (rare) segment on inlaying boxwood into a cherry block, and a selection of clips from recent live streams.
Update: the prints are now finished, and can be seen on their subscription page: mokuhankan.com...

I hate getting nostalgic, but I gotta say, seeing Dave work out of his own house at the 44:00 mark really makes me miss the old vids from 2013-2014 when he had the old Seseragi Studio. It was so peaceful seeing him work on the very first Jed Henry Ukiyo-e Heroes prints with just the sounds of rain, or running water, or birds chirping in the background. Good times.

There is precisely 0 need to apologise, Dave! As someone who doesn't have the time to keep up with your livestreams (They usually start at midnight, for me...) I appreciate the highlights.
And your uploads are always welcome, even "stock footage" as you might consider it!
Thanks and I hope your business is doing well.

I always feel like I'm being spoiled whenever Dave uploads a new video regardless of the type of its content. Had a series of rough times for the past 2-3 months and listening to Dave's voice and watching his carving work up close really feel therapeutic. Also, I think I can guess what the final print is going to be and I'm really looking forward to seeing the final product as well as the following updates of the print. 21:20 Also again, I love the reflection shot being perfectly framed on Dave's window/door of the "bad guy" actor being chased along the road before getting caught by the two kids participating in the Ninja party activity. The scene is funny while the shot appeared really artistic.

You're like the Bob Ross of Japanese engraving printing.

Dave, your channel has a Community tab where you can put out text posts to your subscribers, do polls, etc. If you were to use that occasionally, you'd help the people who worry about if you're still around.
