I'm not sure that I understand your questions, but I'll do my best to answer them. You can place a suction catheter down the lumens of the DLT to clear secretions. You can also place a fiberoptic scope down the lumens to confirm placement.
That´s very kind of you. I will give a lecture + workshop on DL ETT placement to ICU and anaesth trainees. Your video would be part of self-learning educational material.
I Do have a point of question. In this example you have used a non carinal hook dlt. In case you had used a dlt with a carinal hook, would you have performed the same rotation directions and insertion technique?
You are no Joke TEACHER ... wow ! ! But, what do you prefer as a technique to insert it? Thanks a lot From south east of Baghdad - Kut city / Wasit With Love and Peace CA2 Iraqi Board in Anesthesia and Intensive Care ! An SDN little member too! :) @DrAmir0078
i dont understand the use of double lumen tube...if it ventilating the both lungs...how surgeon will perform the surgery...? n why it is called as single lung ventilation??
You can use it to ventilate both lungs or a single lung. You can’t see it very well in the video but where he is clamping there is a bifurcation there. Once you clamp one of the bifurcations it cuts off air flow to that lung. Without the clamp, you are ventilating both lungs.
Wonderful no one ever said about the port closure technique in any lecture ! Thanks
Excellent! This is how you explain an instrument! Thank you!

Of course you can! Just out of curiosity, who is your audience?

Did we also inflate the non functional lung or the lung which is going undergone any procedure??
You inflate both lungs immediately after the tube goes in, but during the surgery, you only inflate the lung that is NOT being operated on.
Thank u sooo much
well presented
