I like the idea of journaling to get thoughts out of your head, but then putting art over them. I love making handmade journals but I’ve been reluctant to write serious things in them. I don’t want to burden my children with them when I’m gone. But the artwork feels like a way to unburden and then put the past behind you. Thank you for sharing your work.
Thank you for your comment, I relate to this so much. 💖 Creating art on top of your words, in a way, seals them onto the pages forever, and no one ever has to know what you’ve journaled about. I love scribbling because it allows me to get my thoughts out quickly-there’s no pressure, and no one can read what I’ve written-not even me! This way, my scribbles can peek through my art. Starting with journaling and adding layers on top creates a safe space where you can be completely honest and raw with your emotions, without worrying about anyone reading them later. Plus creating the art will make you feel much better as creativity always does, so it really is such a beautiful process. ❤😊
This looks like such a fun page to create!!! Love the colour scheme. What’s the moppy brush you’re using to add water before the green inks? Looks like a nice brush 😂

Thanks so much Liz! It is a really lush watercolour brush 😍 I really love it and it's a really soft one so brilliant for really soft blends as well!
