How and Why to Upgrade Your Porsche Turbo Diverter Valves

- Upgrading the diverter valves on a Porsche Turbo has been a first step modification upgrade for nearly 20 years. In this VR Vlog video we show you how poor the stock diverter valves work on this tuned Porsche Macan GTS. We decide to upgrade the stock valves with our Agency Power billet diverter valves. These new DVs feature a spring and piston design. The spring is stiffer providing the car with better boost response and helps hold the tuned boost all the way to redline.
These valves work on the 996TT, 997.2TT, 991TT, Cayenne Turbo 955 957 958, Panamera Turbo, Macan S GTS Turbo.

Thanks for the video very informative. I have a 2016 turbo Cayenne. And I think my diverter valves are at the throttle body. I’ve posted several pictures compared to other cayenne and nobody seems to recognize my set up and I know it is a factory set up. Any additional info will help. I’ll see if I can attach a picture.

2014/2015 3.6turbo model same issue?
Hello, I have a 997.2 turbo and I have a problem. When I accelerate half the throttle I hear sneak noise ... Could it be the diverter valve? Another thing that happens is the car does not rise turbo pressure. When that happens, I have to turn off the car and turn on again. Have you seen anything like this?

Sounds like a boost issue. It could be the diverter valve or could be a boost leak from one of the boost hoses.

is this comes for 2017 panamera?
It fits the 2016 models, but we have not confirmed fitment on the 2017 model, unfortunately.
Any options for an atmospheric diverter valve?
You could plug the return hose and let it vent atmosphere
Vivid Racing would that decrease power? Or creates problems?
@@RubenSegura You can probably run vent to atmosphere as these dont have MAFs like the older 996TT so should be a problem.
Dude no way. I have white 2013 turbo. I’d love to start modding it and I was thinking you could divert out bc no maf!
Would it have been easier if the front bumper was taken off?
A lot harder
I replaced mine by removing the bumper cover and yes, it frees up a lot more ways to get at them. Makes them much easier to see inside there to know what to do. Doing it from underneath requires you to do a lot of it by feel and if you haven’t done it before I think you’d be really frustrated.

Did you "zip tie" those new diverter valves in place?
Bob Neary I believe I used the stock hose clamps. Space is so tight that when connected to both hoses they don’t move.
do GTSs have turbo??
I believe all Macans are Turbo in-fact if not in name.
Why they’d don’t work in 997.1 turbo?
997 Turbo uses boost recirculating valves aka BRVs.

Did this fix the issue shown in video at 00:40? You don't really show partial throttle after only WOT.

It does fix the modulating boost under partial throttle.
@@vivid_racing did you watch the video I posted? Mine happens at 80-90 throttle as per video and sometimes at wot
I did, diverter valves should fix that issue due to the spring in the stock valves most likely being worn.
ok I would say that this fails in the "how" but more of a success on why. every video on any instructions leave out the most important part -- actually how to remove.... so bad.

The factory installed spring works for most applications.... are you serious??!
This is a compleyely nontechnical video, it is misleading and fails to explain the purpose of the diverter valve and more importantly it fails to explain down side of installing a diverter valve that does not open when it should (under vacuum). Worst of all you fail to mention the spring rates and how to know or teach yourself which is proper for the specific application.
For only $250 you can destroy your turbo because bubba recommends the swap.

Believe or not, when i swapped oem with forge diverter, i found waters in the oem diverter. Lucky i got the hybrid version. Never seem 15 on sport mode with oem! Best mod if u really know bout ur own car!
What you recommend for getting the spring rate correct? I see the Flat6 motorsports diverter only has a single spring offering...thanks
i went for ebay rxk hybrid 2 for $120, no different than flat6 and others!
