Ben, I always enjoy the way you "take us along with you" on your reviews. You're well spoken, very detailed, and aren't afraid to laugh at yourself (which I appreciate). Fantastic job (as always) thanks for providing us with professional, informative, honest, and enjoyable reviews!!! I love your "Hardy Homestead Channel". God Bless.
I have had a 2024 GLS 450 for about 4 months as of this comment. I have a test drive scheduled for the 580. The 450 is wonderfully smooth, has pretty good fuel economy, and honestly is no slouch. But the there really is no substitute for the V8 - at least from my perspective.
Hey Ben, great review as always. I’m definitely team 580. Your feedback reminds me of what other reviewers on RUclips were saying about the Durango and how the base engine V6 it that application feels. The Benz’s Inline 6 may be fine, but I’m just a “V8 in big SUV” guy myself.
I love my GLS 580. However, there are a few minor issues. The auto start stop allows the car to roll back on the slightest incline. The cup holders are only suitable for the big gulp, because a regular 500 ml bottle falls over and if not capped spills into the phone charger. Very annoying
GLS with eABC > GLS = GLE with airmatic > GLE You used to be able to get eABC on a GLE, but not on recent models. Similar but depends on the option. GLE doesn’t come standard with air suspension (Airmatic) while GLS does. GLS can be optionally equipped with e-ABC on a higher trim like 580, but GLEs don’t have this option available.
@@stewartpark2306 that sucks! I also noted you can no longer order one with a v8... the 580, the AMG 63... all gone now for the turbo 6 = 450 / 53. Sadness 😔
The GLS 580 has plenty of power from the same AMG 4.0L V8, but detuned a bit. I don't think you'd need the GLS 63 AMG version of the car, unless you just want an AMG :D

Ben, did you know about the power increase from 483 to 510hp for this 2024 GLS580.

Thanks for this review. I think the 580 is my favorite SUV today. Also, the interior of this suv reminds me of the 2018 S Class.
Wow, ben this is a beautiful SUV and I love the color.
Ben. Thank you for another great video! You just help me make up my mind. GLS580 is for me!

Ben, do you find the GLS offers any nicer experience over an equivalently spec'd GLE? Is it quieter / smoother, or just a 3rd row of seats?
Just 3rd row
