    Steven did say on discord 07/02/2022: "For clarification, any amount of corruption allows a player to drop equipped gear upon death. The higher the corruption the greater the chances.

    I'd be willing to try out Tibia's approach, but I feel like it's just too overcomplicated. Especially if you consider that people are already confused even with the current corruption system design.

      @@megamcee it is simple. People attack you, you can attack them back unflagged.
      If people have killed too many innocents, they are permanently flagged for a duration of time.

    I think Server mergers and how they handle them is gonna be very important for ashes long term health.

    I never played tibia, but that system doesn't really fit in ashes cos there's no corrupted gameplay loop, there's no Corrupted nodes for red players.
    I think gathering ressources on non-affiliated lower level possible alt and never fight back is going to be meta. You don't care about the xp dept cos it helps you stay at a low level, and the ressources you drop don't matter cos you can go right back, while the red player has to leave the spot cos he'll be bounty hunted. So the green player always wins in the current system.
    You could also bait people to turn purple attacking them on a low level alt so they think they have a chance and have your friends gank him as soon as he turns purple.
    I think Alt characters in a social pvp mmo is very bad, it'll make the corruption system impossible to fix. And one of the main reason that you would not want to kill every noob you see is that you want to keep a good reputation on your server. Imo there should be 0 name change, 0 alts, only 1 character. And if there's alts they should all have the same name as your main character.

      Your suggestions sound very limiting to me.
      They would need to change corruption within nodes for sure for this system, but corruption nodes have been said by Steven he does not want them to exist. So that would be a very minimal change for a strong benefit to the system in my opinion.
      The corruption system and skull system are very similar already minus the node interaction which I mention in the video.

      @@LlewdLloyd My main problem is that alts are going to break any corruption system and make the social aspect of the game fall flat, even professions are locked to 2 maxed out but if you can have alts set up in every node for every profession what's the point.
      And once you give alts to people you can't ever take them away.

      @@rudged Being a citizen of a node is account-bound, not character bound. You can also use other nodes who have grandmaster profession buildings built. This was talked about during the AMA with Nyce, Jamie, Sunny, and Vlhadus.
      The leveling difficulty in the game will make it so alts, while viable and good for the people that no-life the game, will not be easily accessible to master in every single profession by alt-character creating. Honestly, if someone has however many characters it takes to get all professions maxed then they deserve that in my opinion.

      ​@@LlewdLloyd Account bound node is good, I didn't know about that.
      I disagree that you deserve it if you take time to level them all because then why locking it to 2 on main character ? It defeats the purpose even if it takes a while.
      We'll see how it plays out, but for me alts take away more than they offer, and once you give alts, it's over you can't roll it back.
      In pvp mmo people also use alts to just log on and scout hot spots risk free. There's a huge list of drawbacks but nobody talks about it.

    I think a lot of people will try the game
    Pve players included
    Because they are bored and want to try the flavor of the month
    And because the barrier of entry is really low
    Just 15€
    But a lot of them may leave

      Maybe thats all Ashes of Creation needs to get people hooked. MMOs, not even once...
