I bought two used ones they've done me well. Definitely I'm looking forward to buying my first one but these two trucks have made it possible to build my company to the point where I can feel secure but if I buy the new one I'll have enough business to pay for it in my employees and the insurance and the workman's comp and the tax man and everything that goes along with having a company

Which trucks … what year … and if you don’t mind … what did you pay? I can’t afford a new truck … but maybe able too swing a down payment on a used one. Thanks brutha

So far they have proven a great deal and great buy. I agree a new truck is the best way to go but if you can't afford a new truck right away if you can get a used hydraulic dump truck to get you to where you can buy a new one for me it was a better decision. By the way I will be selling one of my used trucks to put a down payment on a new one by September that's the goal!!

The newer the truck, the more EPA crap they bolt onto it. Newer does not mean better, it just is more to fix with all of their computer crap on it that goes out more.

Buy the best suitable truck you can, for the budget you have. Remember sometimes the message is more beneficial to the message than it is the receipts. His info is great, but I believe sometimes its more of a sales pitch than anything. Used is fine to start, do your research, hire a mechanic for a pre sale inspection, ask a truck repair shop their advice on what years and models to shy away from or to seek.

You also have to consider the full coverage insurance is going to be 2-3x more than standard liability.
If you are going to spend a small fortune on a new truck, make sure you are an LLC so if your business goes bankrupt, they won't take your house. It will also lose 25% of it's value when you drive it off the lot while costing 25% more than the sticker price with interest. You would be so upside down on an $80,000 truck after 4 years. My credit score is almost 800, but I would never risk that for piece of mind or motivation. Even Uhaul keep their trucks in service for 10-15 years.

CLASSIC MISTAKE IN BUSINESS ! Buying new is what a CPA would tell you to do. Instantly a new truck becomes a liability and your behind the eight ball for a loss, UNLESS, you keep it and do not have employees beating the crap out of it. THIS GUY WILL GIVE YOU EVERY EXCUSE ON A CHALK BOARD AS TO WHY YOU SHOULD BUY A NEW TRUCK. Take out a loan on a new truck for $80K, you already lost almost $7,000. in sales tax, then DOC fee's, and all the other fee's of a new vehicle. Every month you have that same dam payment for the next 5-7 years, right out of your pay check. When your 3 years into it, you would be admiring the guy that bought a used truck the same time you did, at a 1/3 the price, and has already paid it off, while you owe another 2-4 years left of payments. That is what makes a great business man, when you own all of your equipment, drive it yourself and maintain it, it will make you a ton of money over the fool that cant make the payments because he has to charge too much for each job, and the competition owns their truck, so can be lower in price to get the job.
I owned all used trucks, except for one. A new truck you pay all the heavy purchase taxes on it, pricey registration and higher insurance, much less the newer trucks take DEF fluid which is another expense.
I owned 5 used trucks, all cab overs, all Isuzu's, and had little to no problems. The major rule of buying used is CONDITION inside and out and buy from a n "Owner operator". If the truck is beat inside or outside or both, STAY AWAY FROM IT. No one takes care of an engine if they beat their trucks up on the outside.
CPA's and business dumb people always think that the more you pay for a truck, the bigger the write off. How IGNORANT. Every penny you pay for your truck, COMES OUT OF YOUR PAY CHECK AND PROFITS.
Keep in mind, this guys brand new trucks in 5 years, will be at half the value they were when he bought them. Not only taking a loss on the taxes you paid on it, but the depreciation. If you paid $80K for the truck, you will be at $40K when you sell it, especially if you have an employee that trashes it by the way he drives. Another mistake in business is that by expanding and getting a ton of trucks, only means you owe a huge amount at the end of the month to pay all the expenses out of profit you could have been putting in the bank if you owned one truck and made more money per job.
Employees cost alot, especially when they are beating on your equipment.
BUY USED BUT BE SMART ABOUT IT. THIS GUY IS THE TYPICAL MENTALITY OF A NEW CAR SALESMAN. He convinces you that your expenses are going to be higher than your payments on a used truck, so buy NEW. WRONG ! Used this guys advice to see the mistakes most business people make, and do not repeat theirs.
Every used truck I bought was paid off in about 16 months or so, and everything after that, was pure profit, because my registration was low, I paid Zero tax because it was not from a truck dealer, my insurance was lower and I did not take the depreciation that a new truck takes, my trucks were worth the same or more than what I paid for them, and didnt lose at the sale.

What is the exit strategy if you buy new and things don’t work out how you expected (such is life)

    • @JunkRemovalAuthority
      @JunkRemovalAuthority  2 года назад +1

These things are in such high demand if you were to buy one and operate for a year you'd could turn around and sell them for what you originally paid for currently. Wait times are about 7 months now due to cab/chassis availability. And if business didn't work out you wouldn't have put many miles on it.

Hey Lee, thanks so much for the info.
I will be coming from Canada with my family and more than likely on an E2 visa which allows me to go into the states through means of business.
I have an opportunity to get into the USA (Florida) through Franchise or my own business idea.
I am wondering if you could help me prepare a plan for starting up a junk removal business if I use your marketing services???
Also, what do you think about starting this junk removal business up in west Florida (Sarasota, north port, Bradenton) areas?
Please let me know how you can help me as I need to leave communist Canada soon and don’t know if getting into the states through a contractual franchise would be the best way, I just don’t want to be tied to paying all sorts of royalties and rules they impose on franchise owners.
    Please let me know 🙏🏼

This guy is doesn't know the difference between an asset and a liability anything paid off is definitely an asset for your bottom line $$$ his theory doesn't make sense to me if I'm just starting out I don't need an $80,000 truck to haul trash / junk.

It's all just a sales pitch to get you to buy their trucks. Don't listen to this video. If you're just starting out buy a used truck in good condition. Learn how to work on it as you go. They aren't that difficult to fix. Buy a gas truck. Easier to fix. When your business builds and you have a stronger client base, then look into getting a new truck.
