Can I just say "spongemuffin" is the most adorable insult I've ever heard? It's simply bursting with sunshine and golden retrievers. I'm gonna teach it to my kids.
I've always Peter Parker's overacting was deliberate from the director, it's not meant to represent how a bad boy acts but how a unpopular kid like Peter Parker would think ta bad boy would act.
It’s like they didn’t even watch the whole film... EVERY character in the Fifth Element is over the top, the whole premise of the movie and it’s direction are over the top. Pretty sure that’s what the director was going for.
All of the Fifth Element was overacted. That was the entire point. Gary Oldman just did a better job of over acting everyone with the exception of Chris Tucker. That movie was perfection.
Yup. Everybody remembers three things about Fifth Element: Gary Oldman being goddamned amazing, Chris Tucker being goddamned obnoxious, and Milla Jovovich being goddamned sexy AND adorable.
The Violator was one of the best parts of film and calling Violator creepier than a clown should be....yeah Violator in the movie is very tamed from the comics who has done lot worse things.
I expected Nicolas Cage in The Wicker Man to see. "HOW THEY GET BURNED? HOW THEY GET BURNED? HOW THEY GET BURNED?" And what about Troll 2? "They're eating her. And then they're gonna eat me..... OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!" The fly on his forehead is acting better.
Does nobody realize that what makes The Room even more ridiculous is the voice overs? They obviously recorded the audio separately which doesn't sync up with the acting at all!
This is a weird list. Why title it as "'worst" and then state that the overacting was needed for the character? And then you throw in Spiderman 3, which of course really was terrible. I dunno, just an odd compilation, imo. It seems like you should've picked all performances that were like Tobey Maguire's to make this list a truly "worst" video.
How can you shit on John? That is exactly how the Violator is, he was probably the most accurate depiction in the entire show. Not even sure how it could be placed here.
I’ve seen people argue that the scene in Spider-Man 3 was purposefully cringey. WE as the viewer are so embarrassed because he is trying to be so cool and he is not pulling it off at all, but if you think about it. Peter Parker is a nerd that thinks this alien symbiote is making him cool, but he’s just a nerd, this is his version of cool. He’s so far away from cool that his version of that is this disjointed embarrassing mess.
Faye Dunaway did not overact in Mommie Dearest. Her performance was exactly what it was supposed to be; it conveyed Joan Crawford as being as selfish, over the top, melodramatic, abusive, narcissistic b*tch. I never considered the movie to be unintentionally funny either. In fact, Faye's portrayal reminded me of growing up with my own mom.
Spiderman 3 was intentionally supossed to be that way. It's supposed to portray Peter Parker being awkward and cringey, but to him he thinks he is being cool and edgy
Raul Julia in Street Fighter. although that should fall under "Best Overacting". he is absolutely over the top in the best possible way. he understood what the movie was and rolled right into it.
Half the world not getting that overconfident Peter Parker was _Intentionally_ funny remains an anomaly of film criticism. WIth all the pedestrians' reactions it couldn't possibly be more in-your-face.
You forgot "The Witches Of Eastwick"....specifically,the scene where Alexandra (Cher) confronts Darryl Van Horne (Jack Nicholson) while he's doing his laundry, and he goes full-metal daffy-duck apeshit on her. It only lasts a few seconds, but it's hilarious.
What other overacted roles should've made this list?
Dennis Hopper in Waterworld
Tommy Lee Jones in Natural Born Killers
David Caroeso in CSI Miami (or every other role he ever had)
Karen Gillan as Nebula in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’...
Almost every Nicolas Cage movie role
Dennis Hopper in Speed
Uhm ... 5th element is supposed to be over the top. Oldman's performance fit right in, I wouldnt call it overacting.
That's exactly what I'm saying.
Spongemuffin???
Can I just say "spongemuffin" is the most adorable insult I've ever heard? It's simply bursting with sunshine and golden retrievers. I'm gonna teach it to my kids.
It was genius! Thesbianism at its finest!!!
Agreed.
100% agree. Not sure why they thought he would fit in this list.
I've always Peter Parker's overacting was deliberate from the director, it's not meant to represent how a bad boy acts but how a unpopular kid like Peter Parker would think ta bad boy would act.
hmoham nothing points towards that narrative.
hmoham is exactly right. This list shouldn't include his role as from Spiderman 3. The scene WAS intentionally funny.
They set out to make you not like him because he had the symbiote. They did the scene and you didn't like him. How is that overacting?
hmoham agreed...but was still overflowing w the cringe
hmoham exactly
Gary oldman was perfect in the fifth element..
the ROSS PEROT voice was spot-on!! not taking the piss out of him he's always known for LAAAARGER THAN LIFE performances!
Absolutely. He hit the intended tone of the movie perfectly
Loved him in it
It’s like they didn’t even watch the whole film... EVERY character in the Fifth Element is over the top, the whole premise of the movie and it’s direction are over the top. Pretty sure that’s what the director was going for.
G C Agreed
Gary Oldman is Great in everything. EVERYTHING!
Also Violator was meant to be disgusting and annoying though right?
yes it is based on a comicbook
I loved Gary Oldman in Fifth Element! hahaha
First role I saw him in.
The fifth element is an epic movie. And Gary Oldman is a big part of the reason. One of my absolute favorite actors. Over the top all the way. Great.
He played Zorg exactly as the character was meant to be. He has yet to fail in a performance in my opinion.
I'm guessing you have never seen Tiptoes.
And how was Peter Parker's act "unintentionally funny"? It was obviously supposed to be funny in a cringy sort of way.
I thought Malkovich was great in Con Air
The best part in my opinion
Why is the footballer Neymar not on this list? He is the worst for overacting in anything.
Riccy R hahahaha
yousuf khan you clearly dont get the refrence. where have you been this summer
👍😂
habboninjafoot619 Oh no, you didnt..TELL ME YOU DIDNT CALLED IT SOCCER!!!
Just keep Rolling Rolling Rolling !
Malkovich was the best actor in the movie! Leguizamo was also great...and Gary oldman is brilliant. Fucking love The Fifth Element
Children who put together these lists do not know anything
valgehiir absolutely
Even I agree, I didn’t find Oldman’s performance to be over acting...they could’ve added Jodie Foster’s performance in Polanski’s Carnage..
Yeah, what is the problem with "Spawn" and "ConAir"?
Михаил Банов none that I see.
All of the Fifth Element was overacted. That was the entire point. Gary Oldman just did a better job of over acting everyone with the exception of Chris Tucker. That movie was perfection.
ExMachina70 Exactly!
Agree whole heartedly. Epic movie. Epic actor. Awesome.
The Fifth Element is a gem of a movie that can never be duplicated. It is one of my top favorite movies.
Bruce Willis was practically catatonic compared to the rest of the cast, heck even the hotel/resort staff seemed quite animated.
Where is Nicolas 'Not the bees' Cage?😎
I never mis-filed anything! Not once!! Not ONE TIME!!!!
Im a vampire im a vampire im a vampire ...
*Nicolas! Why is that so fucking difficult to understand??
Calvin Candie My bad As an Indian I always wrote 'h'. Corrected.
The Wicker Man.
Jeremy Irons in Dungeons and Dragons (spazzing) : "LET THEIR BLOOD RAIN FROM THE SKYYYYY"
I did not hit her ! I did naughtttt... Oh, I Mark
PlayGrounds Channel hi*
I use that line all the time and it's sad how few people get the reference
"Anyways, how's your sex life" haha most random question ever for a coffee shop scene.
The clown from Spawn is the man. He crushes that character; he's like the right hand to the devil.. the dudes attitude is spot on
ya I thought it was great, think his portrayal still holds up as funny and terrifying as hell. Overacting done good.
Looper is full of virgins that's why
Seriously no Neymar!!? That man is by far over qualified for this list.
How the heck did Nic Cage NOT find his way onto this list?? "I NEVER MIS-FILED ANYTHING! NOT ONCE!! NOT ONE TIME!!!!!"
Cage owns this list
It's nearly criminal that he didn't make the cut. I think we should launch an enquiry.
How can you have an overacting montage and not include William Shatner......
now that is a legitimate question
I still have the nightmares after hearing his version of Mr Tambourine Man
*_KHAAAANNN!!!!_*
But I love how Gary portrayed Zorg
i dare say he was one of the best things about that movie... do idk wtf Looper is going on about...
Yup. Everybody remembers three things about Fifth Element: Gary Oldman being goddamned amazing, Chris Tucker being goddamned obnoxious, and Milla Jovovich being goddamned sexy AND adorable.
AZIZ LIGHT!!
Oldman's laugh when he opens the crate and discovers he's been tricked is one of the best "reveals" ever
I know this music.......
Let's change the beat..
"You're tearing me apart Lisa!"
Never get tired of watching this clip! 😀
why isn't Nicolas Cage in this list???
Ikr? He defines "overacting"
@@dontbefatuousjeffrey2494 ummm no, he defines can't act
I thought JL in Spawn was the best part honestly.
Sideshow The Game Freak I don’t know why he’s on the list lol
I loved con air and it's solely because of John Malkovich.
Come on, the best part was obviously Steve Buscemi!
"I did not hit her. I did not, I did NOT! ... Oh, hi, Mark!"
hylianchriss Best~
hylianchriss :dubstep in bg: bwawaeawawawa
The Violator was one of the best parts of film and calling Violator creepier than a clown should be....yeah Violator in the movie is very tamed from the comics who has done lot worse things.
griz312 That's exactly what i was thinking the narrator clearly hasn't read the comics lol
griz312 yes his role is supposed to be DICK and he did fair job in it.
Gary Oldman was perfection in Five Elements
valgehiir I saw you in an apartment
valgehiir now Gary Oldman's performance in Dracula, that was overacting.
Sky Andropoulos “Vinds! VINDS!!!@
I expected Nicolas Cage in The Wicker Man to see.
"HOW THEY GET BURNED? HOW THEY GET BURNED? HOW THEY GET BURNED?"
And what about Troll 2?
"They're eating her. And then they're gonna eat me..... OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!"
The fly on his forehead is acting better.
You're tearing me apart Looper!
Cyrus The Virus. The only reason I can rewatch Con Air anyday anytime.
I came here for Nicolas Cage. Where is he?
YOU'RE TEARING ME APART, LOOPER!
"I'm scaring the little girl?!" from Langoliers will always be #1.
DesolatorMagic
OMG that novie^^
Scared the hell out of me as a child.
😐😰😰 I haven't seen the Langoliers in over 16 years, you brought back some memories here buddy, thanks.
Does nobody realize that what makes The Room even more ridiculous is the voice overs? They obviously recorded the audio separately which doesn't sync up with the acting at all!
Yeah , pretty sure we realize lol
Jim Carey is the whole list
Are you mistaking Jeremy Irons for Carrey?
but his overacting is so good that its funny
But his overacting is funny
Burdii Ako true I can’t argue with that 😂
gyunexx nope
Should be titled Best Overacting of all Time
Fifth Element wouldn't have been as amazing without Oldmans' performance, though.
That cheerleader scene from spawn is great
Anything with Nicholas Cage!
I love Malkovich and Oldman's over the top villains!
The Fifth Element is perfection.
Mommy Dearest is not over acting. That scene is by the book which was written by Christina Crawford.
Faye Dunaway was robbed of an Oscar! I am entertained every time all the way through!
Gary Oldman was one of my favorite things in Fifth Element
Tommy Wiseau: The Man, The Myth, The Legend
I loved Gary In the 5th Element. He was spot on!!!
No Nic Cage? Like the man never misfiled anything, not once not one time
Screw that, "EEEEEEEEVVVVVVERYONE" is one of my favorite Oldman moments
Blahas Colostomy Bag “Zero stones, ZERO CRATES!!!”
John Travolta in almost anything...especially Broken Arrow. Also, no mention of Nick Cage? Really??
Gary Oldman in 5th Element is cinematic genius!
Why is this called the Worst of overacting when a lot of these roles were so entertaining?
No Nick Cage in Ghost Rider 2?
"SCRAPING AT THE DOOOR!"
Zorg is awesome
Well, it's a movie list but Winona Ryder should be here for her overacting rampage in Stranger Things
No mention of Nick Cage at all?
Zorg was 10/10.
Cyrus the damn virus haha this man is genius
Fela Andries Chavo killed more people than cancer 😆
Yup. I always thought that was john malkovich's best performance.
Con Air was great
Oliver
It was but cage was just unnecessarily overdoing things and his accent was weird
Put tha bunneh back in tha box
+Rafael Cage is the one doing the overacting in almost every movie he's in
Oliver dam right
Con Air is my ultimate "guilty pleasure" although I don't really ever feel guilty. I defend this movie, to the pain! 😉
Elizabeth Berkley's dancing and "sex" scenes from Showgirls, waaaaaaay over the top.
I can't believe they missed that one!
“Oh hi Mark”
You're tiring me apart Lisa!!!
😂 🤣 🤣
I’ll watch Gary oldman in any roll
Especially a HAM roll? See what I did there?
lol you got me
Gary Oldman....overacting! How dare you!
Nic Cage can filled the list easily.
Gary Oldman was absolutely brilliant in The 5th Element. His performance was the best part of the film!
"Rhythmically shuffles down the street flashing finger guns at pretty women" LOLOLOOLOL
Oldman was brilliant, half the time I watch that movie for his character lol
I’ve seen people argue that the scene in Spider-Man 3 was purposefully cringey. WE as the viewer are so embarrassed because he is trying to be so cool and he is not pulling it off at all, but if you think about it. Peter Parker is a nerd that thinks this alien symbiote is making him cool, but he’s just a nerd, this is his version of cool. He’s so far away from cool that his version of that is this disjointed embarrassing mess.
Faye Dunaway doesnt play Joan Crawford. She channels Joan Crawford and that shit is awesome in every possible way.
Paul Giamatti in San Andres.
They put an academy award winner in an action movie it made him look silly.
"The beeeeees ahhhhh the beeeees!"
Oh they're in my eyes! My eyes! AHHHHH!
Why is Cyrus the Virus even in this list?
This video was actually kinda underwhelming
Branching out a bit: on TV, Scandal has the worst overacting. It’s like they’re doing a play and the audience they’re playing to is in another state!
Faye Dunaway's performance is a masterclass.
You forgot the infamous "Worst Dead Scene Ever" from Karate Girl and Nicholas Cage in the "Not the bees!" scene from Wicker Man.
You guys are out to lunch on your 5th element assessment. Completely baffling to hear your take on it.
Jason Meadows People who bash Mommie Dearest clearly haven't seen what Joan Crawford was like. Joan overacted irl.
How about stop talking so much and show the actual scenes?
I have learnt something: I was sure the Peter "bad guy " Parker montage was supposed to be funny. What do you know...
Spiderman 3 was intentionally supossed to be that way. It's supposed to portray Peter Parker being awkward and cringey, but to him he thinks he is being cool and edgy
I don't understand, all of these performances were AMAZING for the roles they played, how is list called the worst?
Raul Julia in Street Fighter.
although that should fall under "Best Overacting". he is absolutely over the top in the best possible way. he understood what the movie was and rolled right into it.
Gary Oldman doesn't overact, the acts the appropriate amount every time.
"Ohhhh nothing makes me sadder than the agent lost his bladder in the airrrrrrplane!"
Overacting is when a professional has to play a part that includes a character having to act
No matter how cheesy the movie was, John Liguizamo was *amazing* as the clown and the best part of that whole movie
YOU'RE TEARING ME APART LISA
Half the world not getting that overconfident Peter Parker was _Intentionally_ funny remains an anomaly of film criticism. WIth all the pedestrians' reactions it couldn't possibly be more in-your-face.
Where the hell is Nic Cage? NOT THE BEEEEESSSSS!!!!
Oldman in State Of Grace, Pacino in Devil's Advocate, Fox and Wilson in Back to Future 2, Jim Carrey in everything , Penn in everything so many more
Gary Oldman is one of the GOATs
Basically every Nic Cage movie could be on this list
Every list about overacting absolutely HAS to include at least one Nicolas Cage entry...
Dude where is Ian McDiarmid for Revenge of the Sith? "I AM THE SENATE!"
Haha! "Still better than amazing spider-man 2" glad you snuck that in there.
You sir have no idea what you're talking about.
That scene from Spiderman 3 is one of the best scenes ever seen in a superhero movie.
Guess I'm the only one who thought the best part of the Spider-Man trilogy was when Peter grew a sack and turned into a bad boy.
Obvious that you completely misunderstood The Fifth Element. Oldman was amazing in it. It sucks that he hated it though.
Tommy Wiseau is overacting?
You're tearing me apart, Looper!
You're tearing me apart Lisa! 🙏😆😂🤣
