Believe it or not someone posted their top 10 horror comedies on Facebook and did NOT include A&C Meet Frankenstein - probably the greatest horror comedy of all time.
I had many of these Castle films in my 8mm and Super8 collection back in the day and A&C meet Frankenstein was my favorite of them all and you did an excellent recreation here Hamiltonpl.
At the very end, when the cigarette rises into the air "by itself" and you hear the voice of Vincent Price saying "I'm the invisible man" and laughs. That was awesome. Wonder how much he got for the "uncameo"😂
This is great. I had thought about editing This Abbott and Costello movie to play like a real Frankenstein movie. Removing as much of the comedy as possible. You did a great job.
If I'm not mistaken, the guy playing Frankenstein's monster was Glenn Strange, who for many years was the bartender at Miss Kitty's Long Branch saloon on "Gunsmoke."
In that movie the monster was also played by Lon Chaney Jr.; A small part in the laboratory (around 6:13). due to a small accident that happenned to Strange. Chaney graciously accepted to replaced him.
I still have this reel - and I JUST bought a new projector! Now I wanna watch it again, as well as the other 20 A & C reels I have! (BTW - nice touch with the "film clack" SFX)
I used to buy these short 8mm movie reels when I was a kid, but they were generally without sound (my small projector had no sound available). But this is a really welcome addition to my Samsung library of movies since this is one of my all-time favorites. Thanks for the download!
I bought this 8mm film out from a monster magazine. I remember for a English class exam in high school I played it for thè class and they enjoyed it and passed my exam
My favorite A&C movie hands down ! Plus the fact i wenf into labor with my daughter while watching it at home around 11:00pm on a Saturday night. I would laugh at the movie then grunt during a contraction. My sister kept looking at me when I would geunt and I finally told her it was Hospital time. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Two comedy masters, a bunch of monsters and bad people...and, at the very last-The Invisible Man! What a movie! It's a fun frolic through danger and comedy, like no other! This movie gets a perfect 10 out of 10 score from me!
A great cast from the 1930's Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney Jr. And good ole Abbott and Costello 😅 A funny movie to watch with family and a tub of popcorn 🍿.😊
They intended to replace the monster's abnormal brain with Lou's so then he would leap through windows in fear rather than throw other people through windows... hmm. Nice clear picture though, good job.
When I was a kid I knew there was something off about the scene when Frankenstein pushes the table and started to swing his arms it was Cheney not Glenn strange playing the monster
Somehow during the early 1960s it seems that it was GLENN STRANGE’s portrayal of the Monster that ended up on point of sale items advertisements etc. Clearly A&C MEET FRANKENSTEIN was a huge fan favorite for Monster kids in the 60s. Glenn Strange played the ‘monster’ 3 times only in released movies - the other two were HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and HOUSE OF DRACULA. All 3 were mash ups with all Monsters…..
@@MeanMrMayo people have uploaded 8mm versions of other films that doesn't have the projector sound. I'm only asking if it was possible to get a 8mm version without the sound otherwise no big deal, just thought I'd ask. No need for the snarky attitude.

It's amazing how much they can fit into 8 minutes.
The Vincent Price one-liner at the end was icing on the cake.
Funny thing is, Vincent Price isn't in the film "Abbott and Costello meet the Invisible Man".
It may have been in conjunction with his role as the title character in The Invisible Man Returns.
It truly is funny and enjoyable! WF-😎🤩😉✌️👌😍
@@philipdefibaugh5683 Too bad. That would have been perfect.
A voice that is definitely missed what an amazing talent he had
I'd watch this movie on Channel 11 when I was a kid. Classic.
WPIX Channel 11 out of NYC.
LUGOSI was spot on in this film. Listen to the way he delivers dialogue. He was a master at his craft.

great job phil! funny how frankenstein walks right into the fire when he's afraid of it in every other movie-lol
Lol, so true

❤❤. Love Abbott and Costello movies! ✨🌟👏👏👏
For a comedy he sure had some great suspenseful moments what a great all star cast
I remember as a young boy watching this movie on the Early show every Halloween. 😊 Great memories.

Fascinating. I've always thought those old 8mm home films were neat
i remember buying 8mm castle horror movies at twin-fair & two guys department stores
Mine didn't have sound .
@speedracer1945 Right, I remember reading the subtitles, and the first time I saw this in tv with sound and music, I was thrilled.
If I'm not mistaken, the guy playing Frankenstein's monster was Glenn Strange, who for many years was the bartender at Miss Kitty's Long Branch saloon on "Gunsmoke."
Glenn Strange also played the Monster in House of Frankenstein and House of Dracula.
Marshall Dillion was the Thing from outer space.
@@speedracer1945 Yes he was. By the way, say hi to Racer X for me.

We use to pop popcorn and stay up late for these episodes LOL what a treasure
This is a great 16mm sound short castle made maybe 20 Abbott and Costello shorts from there movies. Bring back memories
Vincent Price as the Voice of the Invisible Man was perfect.
This makes me happy.
Thank you.
What a terrific job at recreating the classic digest from yesteryear
I used to have this one, but it was the silent version - one of my Top 5 favorite movies!
Me too. had the silent 8mm. Wore it plumb out!!!

Great Movie
This movie scared my mom BIG time when she saw it as a kid.
I too as a kid as I hid behind a chair everytime the monster was shown .
I had the super 8 silent version in the '60s
So did I
Wow great job thank you for your time
Thank you so much for this.
Loved this adorable movie, so Funny!
Top 3 movies of all time. My list
I had this on super 8 sound, I sold it on ebay in the 90s

Just one question. Is this a exact recreation (scene by scene) of the castle 8mm release? (Nice work either way)
It's pretty close but not exact.
Sweet.

If Imnot mistaken, Glenn Strange broke his ankle and Lon Chaney played the monster when he threw the lady doctor out the window.
You know if someone were to just get Lawrence talbot an almanac…
This is great, but the sound of the film chattering in the background is annoying.
And don't forget Vincent Price as Invisible Man at the on boat.😅😊
verey good film *****
DONDE PUEDO ENCONTRAR LA EN ESPAÑOL COMPLETA

Yep it wasn't Boris Karloff but the actor from a Western t.v. show.
Comment faire pour la traduction en français
I haven’t seen some of this from the film ?
was the familiar image of Frankenstein first inspired by this movie?

Appricate the effort but do you think it all at possible to upload a version without the projector sound?
That's what adds to the feel of those old days. Watch a DVD or Blu-ray if you don't want projector sound.

Was the Invisible Man there the whole time?
Yes! You can not see him in many scenes...
Wasn't it silent?
The version on which this re-creation was based on was silent, although Castle Films also released a 16mm/super 8 sound version of this film.

Why did Sam Chuck the hot broad out the window?😮 What would Marshall Dylan say?!!!🤓😎✌🏻
It’s tough being a bartender….. but it was actually Lon Chaney Jr - Glenn hurt his back and could not do the scene…
I never understood why it's said that Lugosi was the best Dracula...I don't find him scary or convincing at all...Lee was INCREDIBLE...
When did they call each other chic and Wilbur?
Throughout the whole movie
Lugosi was the best
Turn off that stupid projector sound
This isn't 8mm. It's obviously a 35mm print that you have reedited.
Actually no. Right off of the Blu-ray
