Damn that was clean inside. Those pistons must have had a recent visit by someone. That shim brings back memories of my first 1950s vehicle babbitt bearing bottom end rebuild. Shim/measure/repeat forever. Quickly learned to appreciate modern insert bearings :) Cheers Bud
@@ontariovintagetractor so I bought an old 1950 WD narrow front. She definitely has a fair amount of leaks. I power washed the engine and tractor as best I could. On the engine, it looks as though the head gasket is seeping oil out in the back of the engine, the valve cover gasket, and the rear main (the flywheel cover is dripping oil when engine is running). In your opinion, is it worth pulling the motor and getting an engine stand to do all the seals? My radiator is bad too, and needs to come out.

I was surprised at the insides for sure ! Thanks for watching
Putting that pan back in place on the tractor is a pain ,but can be done.
Absolutely, I’ve done it both ways , engine was already out so it made it easy
Hello, can you give me details of the exact gasket material you use to make your F gaskets?
Just Carquest gasket paper should be able to go into any automotive parts store and ask for it

There's a lot more to do to install the rear main seal and pan gasket.
I’ve only don’t about 10 of them that don’t leak

I always put my end gaskets in a soup can overnight to make them take the u shape.
That’s a good way to , I usually set them in the pan with the engine upside down and leave it over night , I’ll try the soup can
..I just finished doing this on my WF. I haven't fired up the engine yet so I don't know if I have any leaks. Here's hopeing.
