    What a AMAZING show love the diversity in the cast and have been lucky enough to work with Jennifer Weber and she is a powerhouse beyond talented and shes just getting started I see so many more great adventures in store for her as well as for this amazing cast

      @@Listan1 Maybe. It does have some suggestive moments. It also has some lgbtq+ themes. I don’t remember that much from the show (only that it was amazing), but as long as you’re ok with this stuff, shoul,d be fine. You should probably look up some reviews though. I might have missed something.

    For all asking about how Shakespeare would feel about this, he lived during a time period of racism and misogyny. He would be screaming that (1) there's women playing his characters (2) there's black people and other POC playing his characters (or those that were inserted into his story) and worst of all (3) that a black woman is playing the lead. This isn't about him though, this is something to show how far we've come and to keep his famous stories alive with the times.
    So yes, he is rolling in his grave, and he can keep on doing so.

    I don't do "Broadway," but i did want to comment on the expansion of the types of Holiday Movies they are doing now, that includes the LGBTQ+ Community; & i think that's great. If Candice Bure doesn't like it, well suffice, her new Network seems to fit her to a GAF (great american fam).

    I don’t get the concept. Romeo also ended his life for Juliet. So how are they making him seem like the bad guy or that it needs to be “feminist”.

      I actually agree with you, in the Musical they never mention that Romeo’s feelings weren’t true
      He is just a guy who fell in love with a bunch of people before meeting the right one (and dying for her after 2 days of knowing her)

    eh, Juliet loved Romeo, her being this modern woman doesn't make sense for the time, she's not a city girl coming to New York trying to find herself, she would be soft not pushed out like how they are putting her, cute show for kids but nothing wow, I remember all the real takes on actors and story not just a fairytale look that broadway had, now anyone can make it

    They butchered R&J. No more love story, so Romeo thought Juliet was dead, so he suicide, Juliet wakes up and said “I’m not in love with Romeo, I want to date 100 other guys” wow!!

      They DID NOT butchered Romeo & Juliet. It still the same characters but it's a twist to the story. During these sad times of everything that is happening now, I think is brilliant in my eyes how Mr. Read wrote the story. If you want to be that technical about the whole thing and not into "CHANGE," then STOP being disrespectful by calling it R&J...how does that feel by me correcting you. "CHANGE is GOOD!" STOP living in the dark ages.

      The writer is Canadian, the show premiered at the Manchester Opera, and it's been running on the West End way longer than it has on Broadway.

      You're right, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. For one, women are playing some of his characters. Second (and probably even worse in his perspective) black people are playing his characters. Worst of all, a black woman is his lead. So yes he would hate this, but it just shows how far we've come.
