Living in Cambodia the last 2 years. It's so safe here, and I had travel all Cambodia in van, train, and my moto. Left my phone at Riverside, and a gentleman advised me. I went back and my phone was there protected by four several locals. I had walked all over Phnom Penh without any problems.

Phnom Penh is 🔥. I stayed in Koh Pich the neighborhood showed at 2:13 but I stayed across the bridge. Never got anything stolen, never felt in danger, house coming from Thailand and I think the people in Cambodia are ten times more friendly and people in Thailand our friendly.
I’m Cambodian American; I lived , worked , and raised my two children in Phnom Penh in the last 20 years. We haven’t run into any issue with healthcare and or crime. I'm Cambodian American living in USA have no debt everything being paid for. Me and my husband in our 50s but no intent to move back to Cambodia. Because we live there before it enough for us
I can attest to all of that though I left Phnom Penh 10 years ago for a hopefully more sophisticated life in Japan and found exactly the opposite. Cambodia is so much more interesting, exciting, cheaper and enjoyable on virtually every level, especially the variety of excellent food. My god I ate well! I would eat a different cuisine every night for $5. More people spoke English, certainly more than Japan, and I could have a house cleaner twice a week. Not in Japan. Here it’s just not a common thing. Japan is simply sad, cold yet a beautiful country, where Cambodia is the virtually the opposite. So much more dynamic and exciting. I paid $500 USD per month for my lovely apartment there and I still miss it enormously, yet it is definitely much safer here and houses are ridiculously cheap to buy…and we have snow and 4 beautiful seasons. Japan medical care is on par with Cambodia, I too would regularly go to Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok when necessary. Try Phnom Penh, it is fantastic!
Most people don't understand it's not that I hate or even dislike America. I'm just bored out of my mind and everything you want to do cost at minimum 100 dollars per person. I definitely agree about the car culture. I walk every day but rarely see anyone unless they're in their cars. I'm working on making my way to live in Asia. I will bounce around viet, lao, cambodia, Thailand and the Philippines to see which country I enjoy the most and after I'm tired of roaming plant some roots. Great video!!!😊

I've been to Cambodia 5 different times and years and enjoyed my stay each time. I will looking forward to go there for my next vacation. I've stayed 2-3 weeks at each time in various part of the country and very safe to be there. But I was told not to take out wallet, Laptop, phone, Tablet or any other valueable item during riding a motor bike. This is very standard proceeture for going to any foreign countries. Other than that, it generally very safe to go many places within country. Hotels accomomdation were 4-5 stars plus and affordable. Daily foods are high quality ,delicious and services are superb.
2:34 he mentions disconnected........is so very true. When you are disconnected within, you see so many negative. When you see positive. ...., you will be protected always. Just saying.....you all know better. Thanks 🎉🎉🎉
He's right about something don't yell in Cambodia. People will think you're rude, childish, and disrespectful. No matter how angry you are, don't yell or show any signs of disrespect. Cambodian people always remain calm, soft, and kind.If someone yells at me, I will never talk to them again.
My partner is Khmer (I'm an expat) and she constantly warns me not to hold my phone near the door in a tuktuk etc, though I've never experienced any issues myself. She has however had two scooters stolen since I've known her, so there is some crime. I also agree with you that I never feel unsafe here though.
I'm first generation American khmer and my first visit 20 years ago and it was different. I saw an old French guy have his bag ripped off his back. I saw a girl get her necklace ripped off her neck. I saw a guy get robbed at the ATM. I saw a guy arguing with massage staff after his wallet went missing. The tourist areas are trash. The Khmer people are mostly friendly, much better than Vietnam. The customer service is pretty good.
