E' mancato nel 2003, quasi dimenticato. Nel 2007 per Pavarotti (giustamente) si è mosso il mondo intero. La cultura deve rimediare: intitoliamogli una Piazza o una Via vicino alla Scala!
In this era of opera recession , we should all like mature audience we are , admit that they are all absolute joy to listen and they all had immense admiration for each others and we should respect them all for that atleast , especially knowing how much hard work is to be a singer of highest order while interpreting a character on stage and even regular singing .

Corelli, Domingo,Pavarotti all superb, but lets not forget the genius that wrote this masterpiece. Puccini was an incredible composer to think of and create the operas that we still enjoy 100 years later.
Corelli for 153 times Calaf...Pavarotti only 2 or 3 time s on the theatre..(specially in concert Nessun Dorma)...Domingo very hard to sing the high notes..for him was very difficult..he is not a big Calaf...for this role hear CECCHELE,MARTINUCCI,GIACOMINI BONISSOLI they are all very good...but the nr 1 is always the greatest FRANCO

Volpi sings that aria is too great, what you can cry. Found there is 1 guy analyzed his singing, he wrote, what Volpi covered even a middle! What a technique! Mutant, monster!!!
@@Monnarchmonnarchy Volpi was a true master. He used mezza voce` falsettone, diminuendo. My mother and father saw him in Rome IN THE LATE 1930S. My father said the vibrations in Volpi's voice traveled further than any tenor he ever heard. Corelli said that Volpi was truly a theatrical tenor. There is a " Bianca Al Par'' here on You Tube where I think Volpi's voice could be BEST represented by what my father said. I think Volpi, Corelli, Del Monaco, Filippeschi, Zenatello and perhaps Martinelli & Caruso, could be in a category of Vocal phenomenon's

A very old technique recordings, not live perfomances can't showing their full abilities! Caruso just singing straight deep dramaticly, but what if his voice was different? Very interesting, who knows... But today, operatic singers definitely others! They are all so bad, lack techniqally, you don't need even to compare them with monsters on an old records, you can hear a deffects in modern singers without any comparising!

@@pompeoterrinoni3790 caruso era un grandissimo tenore e ha mordenizzato molto ( rispetto alla sua epoca) tutti i ruoli da lui interpretati quindi tanto di cappello a tutto quelli che ha fatto ... Comunque come calaf non può essere stato il migliore: Caruso é morto nel 1921e puccini ha iniziato a scrivere la turandot solo nel 1923 la prima dell' opera apparsa postuma e con un finale posticcio di Alfano ci fu nel 25 o26 ora non ricordo ma comunque molti anni dopo la morte del Grandissimo Caruso! Se si riferiva invece al tenore nella sua completezza questo é gusto personale.... Quando si parla di certi livelli.....

Met on Demand has four different versions of opera. I have partially watched two of the versions. And I must say that this scene here is much better than either of those I watched. The directing and the staging is so much better.
To put one's life at risk for sensual pleasure and love in the presence of one's father is such a specific psychological state to be in, yet Puccini (and Corelli) manage to capture it with such precision that it blows my mind!! Both are great geniuses!!

For all star opera singers it must be thrilling to bring such joy to people. I recall in particular Joan Sutherland's final performance at Covent Garden, all the cheers and warmth, even the Prime Minister, Joh Major and his wife standing in ovation. Dame Joan showed such humility and genuine gratitude for the warmth of her reception. To leave the stage surrounded by such plaudits, is beyond words.

Pavarotti cracked tenor, he ruined his voice on dramatic repertoire. He can't sing a Nessun dorma in any age!!! Too light and lyric!!!
