Very nice Graham ,steam under the wires ,had the pleasure to dispatch the flying Scotsman on platform 5 when I worked at Clapham junction ,love the smell of coal etc especially as it was a chilly autumn morning ,all the best mate be safe Mark 😊😊
Yep mate, I do like the sounds and smell of a steam loco myself. I was going to build a layout with steam. Then I woke up and realised I really new even less than I do about 80's diesel & electrics. 🙄 one of my favourite places in the country is the Seven Valley Railway. Still it's nice to have a few on the layout in the guise of heritage running. All the best Mark, keep well, Graham 😊👍
A great model to your collection Graham, bar the teething problems. Just like the real Flying Scotsman Graham, costs a fortune to run it. Looks a really nice model though. The, steam is a nice touch too, be a bit of a crowd pleaser should you get any guests visit the loft too. Just need some black clag for the diesel locos now😂 Well worth the wait. Thanks for sharing Graham.
Cheers Mickey, maybe a bit self indulgent, but I have been thinking of adding an up to date dcc Flying Scotsman. This more than fits the bill. Be it quite a bit more than I thought. All the best Graham 👍 🙂
Great update, Graham on the flyingscotsman shame about no stayalive but a beautiful hermitage loco for anyone. Look forward to the next layout update, Graham. Take care and happy modelling
No Stay alive in any of my HM7000 locos, never had a problem! I keep the wheels as clean as possible and run a track cleaning wagon around the layout, which I guess you’ve already done! Enjoy!😊
I hope there not destined to become shelf Queens, The last three Hornby steamers I`ve bought, Two needed parts gluing on. there seemed to be a few models discounted down, I did grab a 60 from rails for £120, Mind you time to save the pennies for GETS, are you going this year.
Yes, I shall try to attend GETS this year, but I've got a very busy week leading up to it. You'll be very lucky to get a bargain at GETS though. Best stalls for me in the past have been Dapol and Ellis Clark. Cheers 😊 👍

Yep I do keep it as clean as possible and get no issues from normal dcc chipped loco's. I guess my layout is a very complex one though. Cheers 😊 👍

@@WHP1980s Yeah I got some 5 pound mgr`s last year, I go mainly to meet everyone, we have the youtubers meet up at 11am on the balcony
I sadly missed that last year as I went on Sunday. Will try to make it for the Saturday this year, but it could be a tight schedule to make. Atb 😊 👍
You're best off sticking to Diesel & Electric locos. Less with Tractors!!
Heritage steam loco's only. Class 37s' are my favourite tractors 🚜 👌
