Awwwwwwwwwww. Growing up, my next-door neighbors had a pair of pugs. One of them was named Murphy. (The other was named Buttercup.) They were wonderful dogs. They are why I became a dog person. The Murphy I knew was a tough dog. One day he was lying in the driveway, and the husband accidentally backed over him. He didn't have a scratch. He lived many years after. It was a miracle. I still think of Murphy and Buttercup all the time.

@@Puggy-propellers Hello, Murphy and Paddington! It's funny, when I first moved in, I thought they hated me because they would always bark. That Murphy had a very raspy bark, while Buttercup did more of a "woo-woo-woo" thing, haha. I avoided them for months, but then one day went over with my brother. They just kind of sniffed me and then relaxed. After that, I would always go over to pet them whenever they were out. We would also bring them lots of treats. When our neighbors went out of town, we would let them out and feed them. I hope we still have photos of them. I will have to look. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
It sounds like you formed a special bond with Murphy and Buttercup over time, despite their initial barking! It’s wonderful how animals can bring people together and create lasting connections.
