I have lifted mine, wheels, bullbar and winch, take it on the beach and in the dunes everytime I'm home from work, very capable cars as you no all to well
We're looking at the MUX as an option for our next car so thanks for this video. A bit of narration or review at the same time as the video would be really helpful
I love the red emblem on the front. Mine turned up today from Thailand but no screws or washers. Don't suppose you can remember the size? Keep the videos coming so I can do more Mods along with you.
Hey Nick it’s looking really good. After about 10,000km on my automatic D-Max I’ve only just worked out that I can take off from traffic lights in 2nd really easily when I’m not carrying a load and it seems to get going quicker this way. I was just wondering if it’s the same for your MUX ?.
LowRangeNick yes I would normally prefer to let the auto do it’s thing which is why I put it back in auto as soon as I get moving. I only do it cos I’m in Sydney and everyone’s in a hurry + coming from an FG Falcon it seems a bit slow in comparison to get through the gears. I was thinking that it might be designed so that you can do it, I remember my dad speaking about really old vehicles that had a very low first gear that was only intended for taking off with a load and wasn’t needed for normal driving.
I reckon the MU-X is a gem Nick. Can you do a video on what you would do if you had to replace the MU-X with another? Would you still go for the same bits fitted in the same order, or perhaps re-prioritise things a little, spend less here and more there, omit that, but add this etc.? You are in an excellent position to do that since you have built and used the vehicle and know it intimately now, and we know what you want to use if for given the videos!
I wouldn't change anything haha or even the order. I knew exactly what i wanted. I have had quite a few 4wds previously and built them all up for Off-roading. The mu-x I thought about for a long time before buying and also before picking accessories. So i had a plan 😊👍
@@LowRangeNick I have just found ur channel, will be looking at a new (probably used) car over the next year or so, thinking of going 4wd and really like the look of the MUX if u don’t already have a video about it, would u be interested/able to do a vid explaining why u chose the mux and what additions u added and in what order u got them, also what u chose each addition for specifically... basically so I can see why u chose what u did and if I think that’s an option I would like/need for my own purpose? Also is urs an automatic? It seems most of the mux’s recently made are all auto? I’m wondering if they are still good for proper 4wd ing as I know it used to be “better” to have manuals, maybe I’m wrong as I’m new to the scene but that was my understanding🤷♂️ thanks 😊
@@JakeDogg-RIP Hi Jake! Check out my 50,000km review video. I go through everything I have fitted and also talk about my favourite mods. Autos are great for offroad!
Great compilation !! With these descents, are you always relying on the Hill Descent ? I have found it really effective and just wondered if you mostly use it. I got myself the Provent system from Western Filters....just need to get around to installing it ! Cheers for the great MU-X related content.
I dont use the descent control at all, i have tried it a few times and it works well but I would rather be in full controll of what the vehicle is doing. Just my personal preference. 😊
Hope you can live with a question from UK? Is the running gear the same as a D max? Because the open diffs on mine spin on the slightest bit of damp grass....unlike my old Rodeo with an LSD....You seem to have so much control in those three wheel manoeuvres-Respect due
Hey Jason! They are still open diffs front and rear. I usually turn traction control off because it doesn't work very well. I do want to get front and rear e lockers though. 😊
@@LowRangeNick Sounds good! I worked around Boulia, Bedourie, and Dajarra for 15 years so if you head that way let me know I can give you some local knowledge. Been to Birdsville heaps but not for work. Its an awesome little town and heaps of stuff to do in the area around September with the races. 👍
Hi, what do you think of MUX open diff and its traction control,do you get much wheel spin or problems Im wondering how it handle towing a boat in medium rough tracks and slippery conditions.? thankyou Tacey
The traction control doesnt work off-road very well. I usually turn it off when tackling challenging tracks. I have installed a rear e locker which has transformed how the mu-x performs off-road.
Wow dude, you have opened my eyes to MUX. Didnt realise these are beast off road.
No diff locks! They are great offroad 😊

I have a video of the badge install, you might get an idea of the size of the screws from checking that out. I can't remember the exact size though. 👍

Mine is the same, i mainly leave it in automatic mode unless off-road though and let the transmission do its thing 😋

Hey man, great video. Just wondering if you install any locks yet, for instance, rear diff lock. Thanks
Thanks alot 😊 The mux is open diffs front and rear. I do want to put e lockers in it eventually though 😊
Nice video. what under body protection did you use. does it also cover the transfer case
Thanks! Just standard underbody protection with the AFN front bash plates that come with the bullbar

Only thing wrong with the MU-X is outer CV joints are like butter, otherwise it likes to be modded and goes well off road.
