She's pregnant and she sounds incredible and she sings in Finnish and you can understand every single word.
You can not praise her enough.
Im gonna get so much hate because of this but I personally had hard time to understand. Oh well, sounds amazing anyways.
@@mikkomahonen5050 It's kinda crazy how Floor can never do anything poorly according to some. If she sounds weird or not as powerful as usual the fault is always in mixers, recordings or whatever. :D Obviously she can never just have a bad day. XD Her Finnish is definitely not crystal clear and this song was really hard to understand even with knowing the words. I think some of it is just her singing style, even in English she goes so much technique first that it sometimes means words are not as clear as they could be (this is why classical singing often sounds a bit muffled or hard to understand). Her singing is technically awesome but sometimes I feel like people have these Floor glasses on the same way some have Anette hate glasses on, one of them never makes a mistake and one of them is always poor live. :'D Wish people would just appreciate the completely different styles these singers have, the other one as a technically great singer and the other as an awesome storyteller.
Harhamieli Anette definitely isn’t always bad, some songs that she sang, and still sings, are great actually. And everyone has their bad days.
@@mikkomahonen5050 - But isn't it always like that with voices higher up in the vocal range? The higher up in the Soprano voice you get the more difficult it is to hear the words they sing. Same thing with the Tenor's, if you listen to Jussi Björling's version it's not easy to hear his words either. Tommy Körberg has a lower voice so it's easier to hear what he is singing.
I agree. There're only minor pronounciation errors such as she pronounces "kiittäkäätte" with extra h's like "kiitthäkäätthe". Also, some vovel changes such as "uyö" at the end of "jouluyö" are slightly incorrect, too. Considering the time she lived in Finland, really good job though!
Finnish has words such as "hääyöaie". If you have troubles with vovels, that will be pretty much impossible to pronounce.
Just saw here singing this a week ago at the Heavy Christmas concert in Helsinki. She sings actually Finnish clean as a whistle, she is encredible. Today on Christmas eve the Heavy Christmas oncert was on tv. So you all have a heavy Christmas...we had 🤘🎅
@James Schwarz I'm not 100% sure but I think it's behind a paywall (or subscription or whaterver), so it would not be directly linkable. And anyway there was a lot of blah blah in it, preparing for the first concert, moving to the next location etc... interviews (and while they might be interesting, they would have to be translated first). So be patient, you'll enjoy your dvd as it should contain a full concert.

Imagine trying to sing with a medicine ball resting on your bladder. She is Wonder Woman. Freja must be about 3 years old by now. I bet those lullabies are worth recording.

Floor just finished up with this same group of musicians doing several shows. Raskasta Joulua means "Heavy Christmas" in Finnish. They do it every year in Finland. Marco also performs with this group.
First, bless those Finns who put a metal spin on everything even holiday music and make it sound awesome. Second, Floor just can't help herself from being fantastic as usual, 6 months pregnant and she is belting out in Finnish like there is no tomorrow and then works the crowd at the end!!!! Her smile and joy is so infectious the people who down voted this are all descendants of Scrooge!!!! BTW Mr. R & R Happy and Peaceful holidays and that kiss from Floor was meant for you!!!! I would love to see you as a Judge (Here comes the Judge.....(LOL)). You would be more entertainment than the contestants so they would never keep you, can't handle real talent!!!!
Not only pregnant but VERY pregnant. Only about two months away from delivery I think. It is amazing for any human to sing like that let alone with all that crowding and pressure on internal organs. Yet it did not affect her incredible lung power and control even one iota! She is truly amazing! ---- Language is Finnish by the way, not Greek.
Oh yes, she is unbelievably great! She is a god's gift to everyone who loves music!

That note was a B5. For perspective, she held a D6 (2 whole notes higher) for 8 seconds in Phantom of the Opera. I think we figured she was about 6 months along during that show.

Only a few hours ago I got to see the 2019 Raskasta Joulua tour compilation on TV and she sung this and many other songs - it was amazing. They are all amazing, all the singers.

So I've now seen Floor sing in Dutch, English, Spanish, German and Swedish , all flawless. She is exceptional.

You and me discovered Floor and the band right around the same time and from the very beginning I was hooked to reaction video’s. First from RVA and some others, and then you came around with your enthusiasm and your antics. I can’t look at or listen to Nightwish anymore without thinking of you losing your mind over Floor and the boys. Thank you for that. I have the feeling we went on this journey together and we still have so much to discover, with the new album coming out next year and the tour. I even have tickets for their Amsterdam show, this will be my very first metal show ever! I can honestly say that you have been a big part of my musical year last year and I thank you for that! Have a very merry Christmas and hopefully we can see your earholes explode at a live show next year!

Just 8 days ago I saw Floor singing this live in that same arena! with wet eyes. They had plenty of great singers in this concept. Marco Hietala, Elize Ryd from Amaranthe, Tommy Karevik from Kamelot, Bernie Shaw from Uriah Heep to name a few =)
I know this is little late, just found this, but I have heard her singing that twice in 2017 and 2019 and her Finnish has improved a lot! (lol this is the way how Finns listen their christmas songs :D)

Total off topic: I'm from Bosnia, but because of my love for Nightwish (primarily) and other Finnish bands I have, somehow, found myself learning Finnish language. Yup. One of the most difficult (grammar wise) languages on the planet. On the other hand Finnish is one of the prettiest languages, for me at least, up there with Italian. It just rolls of the tongue. But guys, talking to Finns now, could you make it a bit simpler - you now, like Chinese did? :)

Like you said besides all the singers in this project but the band too is just great. Super heavy compositions of both newer and older, traditional christmas songs from Finland and all over the world. I listen to these songs even in the middle summer because they are so good :-D You should check out more of them :-)

Yea, "sounds like Greek to me" is an expression used when someone doesn't understand something and also finds it strange or difficult. Meaning that it is not simply a matter of hearing french, italian etc a language you have heard of before and understand what language it is, you just do not speak it and do not understand what is being said. It could also be used when someone is explaining math etc to someone :) But thank you for pointing out that it is Finish. I am Greek and it sounded like Greek to me!!! :P (though I had indeed assume it was Finish)

To sing that incredibly well, being that pregnant.. We knew she was amazing but this takes it to a whole new level!
As a man, I can't possibly imagine trying to sing like this with a baby pushing on your diaphragm, taking up a lot of space you would normally use to breath while singing. It's like it's no big deal to her.
On another note, check out this pile of awesome cuteness: a band called Liliac made up of five kids (dad does behind the scenes stuff) doing a cover of Iron Maiden's "Trooper" complete with tee-shirts. The funny things, being pregnant is made with same adjective in Finnish, just with a different suffix (correspond to the prepositions of English). So, 'to be pregnant' is - olla raskaana in Finnish. We Finns literally say she is 'as (her) heavy' :)

fun fact: Simone Simons was pregnant during the retrospective anniversary Epica show when she sang the "Sancta Terra" duet with Floor. These are bands which don't get enough views. Lot of people don't know they exist(ed). but they are in my opinion all wonderfull! the 2nd one does not exist as a band anymore, but most of all worth looking into! the gathering is a dutch band who has now a new singer, but this was with the original one Anneke van Giersbergen. she is 1 of 3 best vocal singers of the netherlands, besides Floor Jansen and simone Simons! And the first one is a power symphonic metal band. Like avantasia, but more power!
