Thanks for the video, Ottawa.🙂 I'm glad that you are able to make some boards to your liking! 🙂 Remember that God loves you and He wants you to love Him too and to keep His commandments. 🙂 Thanks again, Ottawa! 🙂
Thanks for the video was considering buying this for milling wood. Use alaskan granberg mill with 660 and ripping chain. Milled cherry no prob but did a 26 in ash and god that was alot of work. Usually never mill anything bigger than 18 or 20 in. Considering a bandsaw mill the chainsaw mill is back breaking work but this PM14 is pretty nice.
I also have a ms661 with 42" bar and 881 with a 64" bar. Definitely more work but this mill js only good for 14" log, maybe a little bigger. I hope to have a bandsaw mill one day as well.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for linking me to it. The cut speed isn't much different from an Alaskan but you sure do save your back. Also eliminates the some times fussy initial first cut setup. Appreciate you.
Thanks!! I also have a couple Alaskan mills with bigger saw. The 881 with biggest bar at 64". I got this little mill to make dimensional lumber. It's a little easier than my granberg edging mill. Just having fun milling using different mills!!

No one else is around. .am dthere is a guard for the recommend bar which I is ,20". I'm using a 28" bar so I took the guard off. I am also being careful. It would be very hard to cut yourself while your pushing from far away. But yes, accidents do happen
Thats 1 way for a few boards, not worth going cheap having so much wiggle, pull, and high maintenance. A cheap bandsaw mill is way, way better and not much difference between costs just after 6 months use with time spent on maintenance and setup times. Spend the extra 1 to 2 k to avoid the nightmare.
You can't bring a bandsaw mill in the middle of of no where. That's what this mill was meant for. I understand what you're saying but this is for a different purpose.
@@ottawamilling Our logging company ran Pioneer for a long time. Those P51 was torque monsters. I'm still bummed out and it's been probably 40 some odd years ago.

Just the right chain.
Awesome cool wood cutting ❤
Thank you!
Norwood sawmill beautiful Fren 💪👍
That is pretty sweet, have a wonderful day.
Thanks! You too!
Thats a right smart of fire wood you have in the background
Damn look at the firewood I first thought it was a stone wall lol
Ha!! Ya. Lots of firewood. There is always lots!! :)
Nice cut
Thanks!! :)
Nice video
Thanks!! :)
Btw, what powerhead are you using? I could see a bit faster cut with a shorter bar pulling less chain.
Stihl ms661. That bar is 28". Recommended is 20" I think. It's just what I had !
Please give me the link where I can see more Norwood and see the prices too thank you very much
This is the Norwood Web site. norwoodsawmills.com/en-ca/products/portamill-pm14-chainsaw-sawmill?variant=45330464571713
Looks easier than snapping chalk lines and free cutting with a chainsaw.
Yes, much easier!! :)
Those planks were not heavy enough to affect the saw . And I am not sure what you mean by not being able to adjust the cut
good
Good cutting
Something better than the ladder though , anchor the ladder down good
This was a temporary setup. The ladder is ow on some huge cants now to stabilize the mill.
Norwood Sawmills makes and sells them. Model.is PM14

All chainsaw mils are like that. There is a lot of sawdust. This is made to bring in remote places.

The bar is not long enough to sag. But I do see what you mean. This mill is made by Norwood Sawmills.
Yes. This mill is made to bring places where you cannot bring a bandsaw mill.

Probably work better with a Husqvarna. 😊
Possibly. I've only tried it with my ms661 and ms881. I do have a smaller Husqvarna, the 365 special but I only use it for cutting limbs and stuff.
Gonna try one Tues with a ported Echo cs800 I'll let ya know what happens!
@@rustyhaven1211 If you could find an old P51 Pioneer.
The first time I milled, it was with a homelite xl-76. It did work!

I will be installing it on some square cants to make it more rigid. It's perfect for milling lumber in remote locations.
