Suggest you get a nylon head for the tire mounting instead of the metal head.. nylon is so much better for big wheels and wheels you're scared off scratching.
@@jaycar06ify , And he got it when he cracked that spoke 😂 It's no doubt a learning curve!! It was for me too 15 years ago! Lots of lubricant, valvestems in and then we put it on!🤙
I can give you some tips. When you take the tire off start at the valve stem with both tire sides. When you put it back on start opposite of the valve stem. If you put tires on used wheels clean the old rubber with wire brush because there may be air leeks. And the balancers needs to be calibrated every time it's been moved or bought new. Maybe there are instructions for that.
Girls like Bobby is rare . Mostly girls cry when they get gifts like designer bag , shoes and all that . But Bobbi cries when she get new rims and car parts . Youre like a real life Letty . Massive respect to both of you . Hello from Malaysia 😊
remember to align yellow dot on tire with valve stem that shows where you need to be when fully aired up so you don't need to use allot of weights when balancing. picked up 18x9 Marquee 3259 Black Red Inner Extreme Concave Wheels for my talon.
For mounting tires make sure the TPMS sensor is under the head when dismounting and opposite for remounting, it helps avoid breaking the sensors which happens sometimes if you're not careful
Just became a member of the Subie community with a 2021 WRX. Surfing through channels and this has become my favorite. Because the information and that crazy ass garage.... But y’all have that Dom and Lety type relationship!!
to calibrate the tire balancer you use that black thingy sticking out ( 6:54 ) and you put it on the outer side towards the spokes then the inner side closest to the machine then you shoulb be good. it usually beeps at you when its calibrated for each side
Put the stick weights in the barrel just behind the face of the wheel to do outer weights, that’s what I always did at work. Also you want to start with outer weight over inner but everything else looked good. One more thing when your popping the bead make sure it pops all the way in. Don’t be scared to press the sidewall
the outer is referring to the other side of the barrel (closest to the face). not sure what kind of machine it is, but there may be a knob that measures the width of the wheel to get an accurate balance.
Not bad for first time tire installation, balancing is a bit of a weird concept at first but once you understand it its super easy! On your tire machine you should see different modes for different types of balancing. For most wheels that you're gonna play around with you are gonna wanna find the balancing mode where you use sticky weights on the insides of the barrel of the wheel. From there use the little arm to position where you place your weights and then go off of what the machine tells you. Im sure theres also RUclips videos that can explain far better than I can.
ruclips.net/video/sH4JNdrLbmo/видео.html heres a video better explaining how to use tape weights. Most wheel balancers are typically the same in how the task is done. I really hope this helps you out! Practice makes perfect!
Just a tip, next time you need to put valves in while the tyre is on, use the de-beading arm on the tyre machine to push and hold the tyre back. Love the channel 👌👌👌
Hey Devin, amazing videos and your motivation to learn new things is incredible. Couple of tips for mounting and discounting tires plus balancing wheels: - duck tape is your friend for expensive wheels and low pro. Every time you’re scared that something is going to scratch up the wheel wrap the instrument with duck tape. DONT WRAP DUCK TAPE ON WHEELS XD. - tire lube only on tires! If you add the line to the lip (or rim) of the wheel it’s going to make things super difficult and you’ll have the duck head slip off. - you a big boy! Use it to your advantage! Let all your weight hang on the tire in order for it to stay under the duck head when mounting. - you already have a lot of comments about the tire valve stems so you Gucci on that. - if you’re feeling spicy use two tire irons but its “recommended” not to do it since it’s “dangerous”. - can’t say much on the dismount since you did everything correctly - tape weights can go on the inside and outside of the wheel rim however you can possibly change the setting on your balancer to where it becomes static and weights go in the middle. However, highly recommend to not do that XD And that’s pretty much all I have to say. Appreciate your work and hopefully you’ll end up reading this comment 🤙🏽
Just a heads up, usually its good practice to put the valve stem close to the “duck head” when unmounting so you don’t break the sensor. And across from the duck head when mounting
6:42 , you have the hammered weights locations selected, you need to make the little red leds on both sides of the inner barrel to put sticky wheel weights on the inside. The way you did it, it will vibrate. Just a heads up
Awesome wheels and tires, I love her STI. I have a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek the same color, Cool gray Khaki looks great and not many cars on the road has that color. I bought my Crosstrek to take on my camping and fishing trips, cant go wrong with Subaru.
pro tip when mounting tires with larger side wall. just throw the tire at the wheel to pop inside of tire over outside bead of wheel. also line up dot on tire opposite of valve stem
if you use the shovel on the side of the tire mounter you can move tire from the bead and pull the valve steam through that way and also you can use the stick on weights on the inside of the barrel just behind the spokes balance the inside of the wheel
The inner and outer for the balancing weights are inner part of the rim away from the spokes or outer part nearest the spokes on alloy wheels. Outer for a steel wheel would obviously be a hammer on weight.
You don’t need to remove the liner. Just cut a portion off where it’s rubbing. Trust me you don’t want to remove that liner. The engine bay will get super dirty super quick
Have to clamp the wheels on the machine not from the inside but to grip the wheel itself between tire and wheel. Lock the duck head so it doesnt move when taking tire off and pulling tire over the duck head.
The inner and outer is the wheel it’s self. For example the outer it’s the front of the wheel (front lip) and the inner in the back of the wheel( back lip)
Car looks great, the thing about no fender liners is all the sand on the road from the plow trucks gets inside the engine bay and makes a mess and water can also find it’s way into headlights my friends g37 hid ballasts stopped working a few months after he took out his liners lol
bro i almost cry seeing you mounting the tyres ... tought that you will scratch them. you need some lessons but you´re in the right way ! nice chanel ! sorry my inglish xD
For a guy who knows a lot about tires and works in the tire industry and that also knows how to dismount, mount, and balance easily I saw a few mistakes but I get it that he's learning. But there are somethings that Devin did and if I did some of those things my manager would chop off my hands.
And on the balancer that stick comes out towards the wheel and in there is a balancer or measure that measures only that spot that you put it up against
Looks good on the car. 😍 Only that mounting job 🤦🏼♂️ You have to get the inside of the wall sitting on the top of the head on one side en the other side you have the Outer side of the wall under the "ball" of the head. Not Both under the head, you wil cut a tire and damage the wheel (like you already did) The nylon part on the head is to protect alloy wheels. For balancing you dont have to stick the wheelweight tot the outsider, Both inner and Outer is on the barrel side. One to the inner Line of the wheel, the other behind the spoke.. Hope you Read this and it is any help for you. Good Luck 💪😉👌
Highly suggest a nylon head on the tire machine the metal ones scratch wheels and rip tire also just a heads up do you don’t break a tpms sensor on dismount have the sensor under the machine head and on mount have it across from the head and watch out for it while breaking the bead
As a tire tech , always put the stem under the duck head , take your time with wheels . If you had a robo arm , it would be way easier to work on tbh .
Tpms sensor always under head when first removing tire ( less chance of cracking or breaking sensors ) on install I do like 4/5 o’clock on tpms sensor to where head is
Devin next time your putting on new tires on new wheels or just in general new wheels not to put metal on metal put some cloth or towel between the contact points and when putting the tire on the wheel also put a cloth between the metal bar tool
You should not mount alloy wheel like that. If you have plastic heads or not for alloys you mount them on the outside edge, like you did on the new ones, not the inner wall like you did with stock, otherwise you can scratch them. The inner is for steel wheels. And for the balancing, there is no outside weights for alloys, both you put them inside
I need a girl like Bobi. You’re truly blessed bro.
Suggest you get a nylon head for the tire mounting instead of the metal head.. nylon is so much better for big wheels and wheels you're scared off scratching.
I use to mount tires and I was going to recommend the same thing
Literally having an anxiety attack watching that 😂

The pure shock on Devin's face when Bobbi said no to the ceramic wheels was priceless !

Bigger wheels really make the change🔥, it look much better now

need to make girlfriend into a fiance already.. stop playin'

Game changer comment
There is plenty of time, no need to rush
@@Tony-tk4ht true I’m only 24 and divorced, right person...right time matters a lot
Always start at the stem when dismounting to avoid breaking the sensor. Then start mounting opposite of the sensor.
Devin bro mad respect for you bro getting your girlfriend wheels for her is the cutest thing you have ever done
Learning the hard way I see you always put the valve stem’s first I worked with wheels and tires for 3 years take my word for it
"why are you going poop?"
Devin asking the real questions these days...

New to the channel and Bobbi's too, and enjoy this one as you surprised her with new tires. She is like my wife emotional over everything

Adjust the factory camber bolts up front to get that last little bit you need. Don't damage the body work just to get it to fit.
The black really compliments the STI's color
I just ordered $80 of ceramic coating using your code. I hope it helps the channel and I'm happy to support!
Suby be lookin amazing! So crazy to think this thing was crashed in the front end and looks this good now! Keep up the amazing work Devin
Thanks for always hooking up Bobbi's cars. It's beautiful!
Lube is your best friend when mounting a tire, valve stem at the red dot for optimal balance. Bus tire guy for Goodyear
Just a heads up, usually its good practice to put the valve stem close to the “duck head” when unmounting so you don’t break the sensor. And across from the duck head when mounting
Bobbi and Devin are for sure couple goals!

Drilled rotors look so good behind black wheels. Grey-Gary looks good.

if you use the shovel on the side of the tire mounter you can move tire from the bead and pull the valve steam through that way and also you can use the stick on weights on the inside of the barrel just behind the spokes balance the inside of the wheel

2 levers or a rim clamp to keep tyre in wheel groove as it goes on!!!

When you are mounting the tire you start whit valve steam out from where you start for the tire to not hook up on the valve.
