I'm from Wyoming and just can't believe that some asshole like this would do something so bad to a living animal. True hunters would NEVER do this in anyway, shape or form.
What’s most horrid is that this guy felt comfortable enough to take this wolf he ran down and wounded to a dive bar and continue to torture it for his amusement and the amusement of his drinking buddies. Speaks volumes about the type of people in Daniel, Wyoming.
Good for you for calling this bastard out. As an avid hunter, I did not, and do not want to, see that video. The description is enough to make me sick.
What he did echoes with his daily life. It doesn’t affect him. He’s not a hunter but a psychopath. No empathy for suffering. If you have none of that, then you’re a monster.
What that poor young wolf was forced to endure should break the heart of any decent human being. The fact the torture was permitted through various laws and loopholes, makes society just as guilty. All must rally to end this legal cruelty and the unethical unfair chase war declared on large predators in Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. Wolves have a critical role in the ecosystem which is way out of kilter with their native prey due to myths, fallacies, and special interests. Wolves have as much right to be here as we do, if not more. They cannot afford, nor due they deserve, what all is being done to them. All wildlife should be treated with respect and compassion. It makes us more human, derivative of humane. Thank you for speaking up.
I don’t know but this guy probably has an evil background of pet abuse, child abuse, wife abuse. He should be investigated by child services if he has kids. They are at risk. Studies prove that anyone capable of torturing an animal is capable of harming a child. Social services need to investigate. Then there is the bar. The bar is a lowlife creepy dirty hovel, and needs to be shut down over this.
Amen brother,100% agreed, you nailed it... My wife and I ran across your tracks last year in eastern Oregon... You had a battery problem at camp,we were able to get you going again ,and meeting you that one time we could tell you were good people, God bless you my friend ,and your wife... keep up the lifestyle you love, and fight for it before it's gone...
This type of animal cruelty happens more than you think. Running down wolves, coyotes or other wildlife with snowmobiles has been going on for the past 50 years and it is considered to be a form of sport and entertainment. People also release their dogs to chase down wildlife and claim it is a form of exercise for the dogs. Unfortunately when they do it during the winter the already malnourished animal can die from the exertion. Wyoming knows all about this animal cruelty and more but they turn a blind eye because wildlife is big business. If you think Wyoming Fish and game is about protecting wildlife, think again. It is about dollars coming into the state.
Anyone willing to treat a living being like that is a psychopath and should not be freely roaming society, this is some seriously twisted shit I can't imagine he's only done this once
Wolves are Keystone species, and they are much needed!!!!! I could not fathom hurting, hunting, or even trying to domesticate these magical animals. Thanks Ray!!
Look on the bright side - Cody walked free, which means he's free to roam all those vast forests and wide open spaces, y'know, all the kinda places where wild animals live, including wolves, and where a guy could easily get lost, or be the victim of an unfortunate accident , so, Cody, keepin my fingers crossed for that...
The man at the mic has it right, growing up on a farm I was told at a very young age that if you have to kill something then kill it, nothing should have to suffer , even when hunting if you don’t have a kill shot, you don’t shoot,
Amen , What we are going thru in Montana , Idaho , and Wyo. just to keep a season on Wolf's , and this jackass just made it harder for us law abiding sportsman and Women to justify hunting and trapping .
There is justification for hunting, or even worse, trapping, which in itself is horrible animal abuse. Cody Roberts behaviour comes from a culture of people believeing "it's okay to kill predators". They are beautiful animals and we don't need to hunt them. We need to teach our children how to appreciate and respect wildlife, not how to kill it.
Thank you for your video coming from a hunters perspective, please encourage more of your community to speak out against this cruel senseless act . It wasn’t a clean hunt or a predation issue .
Unbelievable that we entrust the state of Wyoming with some of our country’s most diverse abundant wildlife and Dept of Game & Fish silently fined him $250. Luckily someone in that department leaked it to the press, and the Daily Cowboy reported on it, otherwise this activity would have gone unnoticed. Please advocate for animal welfare and wildlife. Daily Mail’s video (taken from his FB page) of the bar’s patrons’ behavior implies guilt of the customers as well as the establishment.
People need to definitely understand this is not about hunting. This is about torture and the mentality that just because you don’t feel the pain means it doesn’t hurt is fucking gross. Thank you for posting about this.
The problem we are seeing right now stems from the war on the wolf. With the recent moves in Colorado, wolves have become so demonized in the eyes of ranchers, that we now starting see them become demons themselves.
The Sheriff who investigated is friends with Cody Roberts. Conflict of interest and this is why he hasn’t been arrested for felony animal abuse. He could be charged in Federal Court. But will he?
This upsets me beyond belief. To treat any animal this way is so wrong. I am a hunter, trapper and hold a respect for all wildlife. We are not like the man in Wyoming who did this to the wolf pup. It saddens my heart to the point I can't put it into words. Like the gentleman who made this video stated, we are hunters and sportsman, that guy with the wolf is neither in my opinion.
I'm damn glad your telling people that don't understand or may never understand the hunter. I've hunted my whole life I live off grid in Northern Cal on Oregon border . I do not shoot deer on my 140 acre ranch I enjoy watching them I don't shoot quail grouse etc . Bears and other predators when they get my livestock yes I will hunt them. Not one old time rancher that owned large acreage that I knew would shoot deer gamebirds etc on their land nor bear or cats unless they were being predators to their livestock.
I’m feel sick to my stomach every time I’m reminded of this incident, and furious as well 😡 My concern with hunting wolves is how do hunters know they are not killing an alpha wolf? Wolves operate as a family, and the family dynamics can be destroyed just by taking out an important pack member.
I was raised by hunters and I was always taught u kill it u eat it and at the same time u have to have enough respect for animals to not make them suffer ..that poor baby in the video how it looked so done and sad and it also disgusted me that no 1 in that bar did anything
God Bess you, a man of integrity and honour. This story filled me with darkness and profound sadness. What a cruel bastard this man was. Karma will find him.
Yes, he does. The Fish and Game personnel that did the "investigation" is actually one of his close personal friends...🤔 And then they tried denying it after many of the locals and neighboring communities pointed it out.
I'm glad you covered this, and so well. This is plain and simple animal cruelty by a disgusting human being. And I wanted to add, whether or not he is held accountable beyond a piddly $250 fine, it's the State Of Wyoming that will suffer financially. I don't think I want to spend my money in a state that condones such behavior without criminal consequences. So, several church groups here in Virginia have decided to cancel the Yellowstone vacation in favor of the Grand Canyon, and a letter to the Governor of WY, Mark Gordon, on why we had a change of plans this year was drafted. Not that he will more than likely care, but money talks in the end. I encourage everyone to share the videos, write or call someone, and not let this horrid act be forgotten about until Cody Roberts is punished accordingly and the laws offer more protection to predatory animals. Thank you for your video, be good.
Please don't let this story die! This evil, including those who cheered this guy on, especially the aunt who then put up a video telling people to mind their own business, saying wolves are evil.... SUCH EVIL PEOPLE! Jason wanted to raise $10,000 but 125,000 was raised by yesterday! KEEP THE UGLY STORY ALIVE, although I hurt every time I think of it.
While I appreciate that you are calling out Cody Roberts for his criminal and sick actions, I do wanna say though: all hunters kill. You may not do it with the same psychopathic intent like Cody Roberts, but at the end of the day, you're killing a beautiful animal that wanted to live. We humans don't have the right to decide over anyone's life, including animals. A lot of hunters confuse their love for nature with hunting. You can love nature and preserve the environment without guns, in fact, you can only do it without guns. ❤ Criminal animal abuse, like Cody Roberts' stems directly from the root of the problem: that we think we are above animals. We are not. They are here with us, not for us.
Even vegetarians kill. Vegetable farms, especially mono crop cover huge parts of the country and are nearly void of wildlife. Why? Toxic fertilizer and pesticides, farm equipment, extermination. Vegetable farms basically wage a war against fish and wildlife, whereas hunters benefit from promoting and managing wildlife.
I respectfully disagree, all live consumes or absorbs other life, there are no exceptions. It's no more wrong for us to kill and consume life, flora or fauna, than it is for any other species, period. They are both here with and for us, as we are them. It's the circle of life we all learned about in grade school.
@@bittybling6736 He is being investigated by the Sheriff Department and will likely be charged with animal cruelty with a stiff sentence. The game and fish Dept. gave the $250 fine because that was the max they had authority to do. Stop freaking out, this is still an open case.
Why is this different: As I grapple with the harrowing reality of an innocent animal subjected to torture and a brutal demise at the hands of a narcissistic sociopath, I find myself relentlessly questioning: Why is this different? Growing up amidst the backdrop of Chicago, I bore witness to tragedies that etched themselves into the fabric of my being. The chilling specter of John Wayne Gacy, who callously snuffed out the lives of 33 vulnerable boys, haunted our community. I recall the palpable fear that gripped us, mere miles away from his atrocities, and the profound disbelief that such horrors could unfold so close to home. Then, just a year later, the catastrophic crash of Flight 191, claiming all souls aboard a mere stone's throw from my own dwelling, left an indelible scar. Yet amid these profound tragedies, I find myself grappling with the stark question: Why is this different? In a city where senseless violence echoes through our streets week after week, each loss more heartrending than the last, have we become desensitized? Has brutality become so pervasive that it has morphed into the mundane? But why, then, does the torment and slaughter of a wolf thousands of miles away consume my thoughts? Why is this different? After agonizing over this question since the chilling events unfolded, a revelation struck me today. It crystallized with a clarity that rendered all other tragedies hazy in comparison. This was not merely about a distant animal. This was the first time on American soil that I witnessed a victim subjected to the vilest forms of torture, torment, and degradation, beside their perpetrator, for all to witness. It matters not whether the victim was animal or human, for what I beheld was a human being descending to the depths of barbarism. In Cody Roberts, I saw a man who reveled in the agony he inflicted, who callously participated in the calculated annihilation of his helpless victim. That, my friends, is why this is different. That is why Cody Roberts must be held accountable for his heinous actions. --M. Perri

Yes but his wife Holly thinks she has immunity for Robert's family white privilege

Not just wolves.
Coyotes
