Was lucky enough to meet Chewy at Jocko's Origin Camp. His coaching on the shotgun armbar and top pressure was a HIGHLIGHT of the event. If you can make it to one of his seminars... GO!!!!
I think its a great idea to have more brackets Did my first comp at 55yo, matched against 20 year olds. pretty well got smashed. When they bracket masters as anyone over 30... there's still a really big mismatch if you are in your 50's My 30 year old self would kick my ass now
We were very much looking forward to this tournament in MB but it falls on same weekend as Tap Out Cancer in CLT. We’ll definitely join you all for the next one. Curious on how my bracket would’ve played out. I’m 47yo white belt @ 225lbs. There’s 11 people with age range of 35 to 47. Would we be grouped in groups of 5 by age or does weight take precedence over age in this instance? Thank you again for the great content.
No! Not with you on this one Chewy. Roll against whomever is there. Your BJJ will get better. 48-year old White Belt, and still have not competed against anyone close to my age. Bronze. Gold. Silver so far from three comps. One a month for the reat of the year. Blue by December.
My buddy Bob 'Nobre' Miles is looking for a competition. But none of them fit him, he is in his mid 60's 200 lbs and a 3-strip blue belt. In the philly area. Any advice for Nobre?
So what i heard chewy say, is he wants to watch a bunch of 20 year old college wrestlers. Grapple 40 year old Jiu Jitsu practitioners. He MUST hate Jiu Jitsu.
I’m 39 and had knee op. After every session both knees hurt - strangely more so the un-operated one! Any advice on how to protect my knees, any helpful supplements and whether knee braces make any difference? Thank you in advance
Awesome that makes me more inclined to do Gatlinburg now. I was going to do Memphis, but tore my meniscus in February and had surgery so I wasn’t rehabilitated enough to compete.
I love that you limit the seats available what a broski!

Are you planning on doing a virtual tournament too? Where I control someone remotely?

Is the Twister legal for the Adult NOGI Intermediate Devision?

Looking forward to my first competition (submission only) in a few weeks. Maybe someday I'll be ready for a Chewjitsu Open event.
I love hearing this. Now I am going to try to make one of these. Need to go against other old guys.
52, white belt, see you in Branson!
