This was a great video. These are the kind of real world problems that can stack up and make a flight really stressful and dangerous. I'm heading out to do some winter flying tomorrow and will double check to make sure my cold weather gear isn't going to obstruct my vision, make my helmet come loose, get on the prop, jam the throttle, etc.
Glad you liked it. Oh yeah the kill switch! I could not mash it with my glove on! You see me reach up overhead and bring my hands together right as I pass the airport fence? Yeah I had to push the kill button with the other hand. I’ve never had the chin strap pop loose before. I think maybe my hood got caught in the buckle when i put it on. with the gloves on i couldn’t tell.
Nice video buddy. Thanks for sharing. I've certainly had many days like that, but you still got up and got a flight and built some shit conditions experience.
Hey thanks for the positive outlook! It definitely helped get some nasty condition experience and gave me a few clues to look for on the ground as well.
I've never had luck from a hoodie. Just becomes a parachute, even if you try tuck them in. Very odd wind conditions that day. Great approach, just a tad long, it happens. Hooray for having your own windsock on the ground. Thanks for the share. Hopefully some calm and warmer flights soon!
I love my Bream Buster windsock! It retracts and to about 4 feet long and fits in the trunk, and there is enough spare mylar stuff on the roll to replace the streamers like 37 times.
yeah have to remember to start the watch app and gaggle and the camera. lol. three more items on the pre flight. i do like the information on the watch though. flight time, altitude, heart rate, and the big arrow pointing back to the airport.
Actually there are a lot of steps to this one! It’s an Insta360x4 video. Telemetry comes from my garmin fenix 7 watch, so i have to connect it to my phone and upload the data from the StuFly app. Insta360 has a great mobile app editor. So I exported the video to my iphone camera roll. The next stage was to open it in iMovie on the phone and record the voiceover, and adjust the video volume. Normally I use adobe premiere but this time I did the whole thing on the phone.

Just put it under your helmet
I have the same 360 camera with the gps watch, is cool but one more item to deal with. Good video 👌

@ yup its nice to see stats on video footage.
Good video. What editing software are you using for the telemetry overlay and are you using GoPro data or Gaggle data?

Learn pg and you'll get much better bump tolerance.
