Sheldon made that "I hope my boss doesn't see this" joke at least three times - had mans sweating.
Who said he was jokin?
being a factory driver is so much more than just laping on iracing
@@SirNuk3 TIL its also about getting your ass handed to you by an absolute chad of a RUclipsr
he made sure the joke made the cut
@@SirNuk3 I don't know much about sims this price, but this isn't actually running iracing though surely
You can really tell Jimmy is a much more developed and experienced driver now. Awesome to see the progress
@@jonathoncook8367 Too scared? Have you seen him race the Praga? Jimmy has done now quite a lot of racing irl and has shown incredible skill. I'm not saying put him in a LM Hypercar straight away but he is a great driver.
@jonathoncook8367 Not hard to keep it on track but hard to drive fast because every car is the same
@@jonathoncook8367It's pretty damn far from low level, mate.
So what is next, irl LeManns 24hrs race driver perhaps? What would be his rating for that, Bronze?
@@jonathoncook8367have you not seen any of his IRL driving? Praga champion won a few rounds of time attack. Doing the 24hrs of Nurburgring...
I love seeing Jimmy show up to a world revered race team, in basically pajamas, and beat their class driver. 😂
Really is. Have you used the sim before jimmy? "yeah sort of", and just smash out a lap like that. It's a craft that you simply can't measure in iRating.
Well yeah but he would get destroyed on the actual track by him. Simulators are not real life. People who play a lot will be better than people who don’t. This includes race drivers.
@@raskolnikov6443 maybe in DTM, but Jimmy has shown pro pace enough times on real race tracks to prove he can not only race but also be competitive with drivers who've done many multiples more races than him. The way he adapts to real life cars, tracks and conditions is genuinely elite level
I can't believe they let you back into that place
Edit after watching: I can't believe they let you leave without hiring you after what you did there lol
😂
It might be in the works.
call up jimmy for some development sim laps while the team is at the track👀
@@damoncuccia788It wouldn't be surprising at all. Even without competitive lap times, a driver with as much of a following as Jimmy's is a significant asset for a race team - major sponsor draw. I can well imagine that they might find an excuse to get him some laps in the real car and see how he gets on. It will only drive Jimmy's audience to pay special attention to the BMW's results next season, even if a single test is the only time he drives it. I'm already more interested than I was before watching this. There's no real downside to getting him a test in the real car so long as he doesn't put it into the wall or another car, and his performance in the sim would seem to indicate that the likelihood of that is close to as low as with their pro drivers.
I'm pretty sure Jimmy and Misha raced in a BMW at the Nurburing 24hr this year.
That honestly looks so realistic. That car movement and from my visual side even FFB. WOW!
thats the beauty of rFactor Pro + genius BMW factory mod developers that know the software inside out
graphics bit shite tho, get custom shader pack innit@@papalenny
Imagine how expensive the version without the 8 bit dash will be! :D
EA: Write that fucking down!
Jimmy’s slowly turning into a BMW development driver
which is a legit "Everyone liked that " moment
For real.
Man was joking about contracts, but sometimes those lead to serious conversations down the lines. Who knows.
Watching Jimmy grow and improve as a driver is my favourite side quest
It's been like watching a good friend that doesn't even know you succeed. Why do I love it so much?
It's hard to believe that only a few short years ago this guy was just a pleb in a shed. Now he's a semi-pro driver getting opportunities like this one. They are well deserved, and I think I can speak for many of his long time subscribers when I say we are genuinely happy for him. Keep up the great work, Jimmy!
Jimmy to Tier 1 DTM?? That was a stunning lap, gg Jimmy.
Nice one Jimmy! Though I did hear the sim cockpit later started filling with smoke, a situation that was narrowed down to 'super conductive sim-racer sweat' in the electrics.
For the edtior. Thank you so much for keeping this simple with minimal cuts to current memes or whatever else keyjangling needed. This is proper good.
seconded, and less zooming in and out of his face to put emphasis on something i already can see and hear him saying
That's the kind of day that might just put you in the eyeline of a team looking for a prototype driver. Time to at 5% to Jimmy's chances of a lemons drive.
I don't think you meant it that way, but Jimmy and a team of sim racing goobers in the 24 Hours of Lemons (yes, Lemons) would be spectacular.
@@StarkRaven59😂Either would be great!
A group of sim racers podiumed at Le Mans before, I'm sure a group of sim racers could MAYBE finish Lemons if they're lucky.
@@SeaGLGaming Even the best teams MAYBE finish Lemons if they're lucky.
My favourite part of this video is Sheldons humbleness with zero excuses and congratulating Jimmy. That is the highest of compliments to Jimmys driving.
I remember watching the old video when it came out, thinking it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Apparently, its a twice in a lifetime opportunity!
Sheldon seems like such a nice guy, its nice to see someone leaving their ego behind for some fun
Jimmy's statement about driving it like a sim is perfect insight. But that doesn't detract from the mind-blowing laps he put in. He has learned to be a racing driver with consistency, adaptability, and working with the team. All of these elements that have developed more and more, and yet remained resolutely Jimmers.
Jimmy I smell a position as a factory driver in gt4 coming soon!
It just keeps on getting better. There’s a lot of power behind your position as an “influencer” even if you’re not as experienced behind the wheel. Just stay safe!
He could probably easily get the sponsorship to be in that position with how big of an influencer he is.
Not exactly factory
I’ve always heard that sometimes the best racing driver talent is not just how quick they are but how quickly they can find the limit and get up to speed and it Jimmy is showing that in this video. That’s really impressive stuff! Congratulations!
You could tell within a couple of races in original goldie that he really had something, the more real everything got the more his levels just rose to meet the challenge. What he did with that 330i was beyond impressive, doing that stint with a bent door and no rear view mirror, nearly actually avoided it too - opening lap escapes seem to be something of a speciality he has - when there's pace to show he shows it, consistently. For all the joking/not joking humility there is a pretty epic human and genuinely talented real life racing driver before us.
To run quicker than a BMW driver in the simulator is incredible. I could tell when you started really trying to push. What a God Lap.
F^^ing love content like this...I know I know how rare this is, but damn , the grin I had watching this. Thank you BMW and Jimmy you F**ing legend :)
Yeah that has to hurt a bit when a guy rocks up and beats you the first time in a simulator you've spent a lot more time in. I said he was mega fast in his stint in the last round at Nürburgring, but this does put quite a stamp on the improvement Jimmy's made over the last few years. I wonder how much Gordie's help was in shaping the improvement.
I would like to think Sheldon immediately moving in with donuts and beer after being beat in the sim is a direct attempt to fatten Jimmy up so he can't beat him irl.
Love the support and honesty between them. You mostly only find that at high levels of things. Cos they are driven by so much passion and for always learning/improving. Brilliant!
Fun to watch. I was lucky to watch the sims installed @ Daytona Speedway back in 2004. Watching how the tech has come to exist now, exceptional application, and to see Jimmer from shed to this rig running hot laps as fast or faster than a PRO, Perfection! You are a racing purists reality in real form Jimmer, Love ya man!!
Epic! awesome to see how your skill & experience is translating to any challenge!. Great video and well presented as ever. I love to see that nofication when theres a new Jimmer no punting video published!
It’s so great to see Jimmy getting to enjoy experiences like this. Amazing content. Nice to see Jimmy getting the recognition he deserves from serious players in motor sport. Thanks for bringing us shed dwellers along for the journey
Jimmy for Le Mans in 2025. Calling it here and now.
That i so rad. I've been following your entire irl racing career, and even though its just sim, to beat that time is astonishing. Really shows just how far you've come.
The video of your previous visit was the first video I saw of you.. before I even had a wheel.. had been binging your videos ever since.. even got myself a wheel and now running laps everyday..and it's so much fun.. also..awesome content as always..cheers mate. ❤️
Just showing that you have grown big time as a racing driver. Big respect for that.
And really cool that bmw motorsport gives you the chance to drive the sim again. Looks like a great time with sheldon and the engineers.
But don’t underestimate what you have done. These things could lead to great things. Hopefully managers at bmw motorsport also looks at this video.
You just have to feel proud of yourself Jimmy for everything you're doing in the professional racing world and what you've achieved with your youtube career. And the way you keep being yourself trough all this, a true role model for all of us. Enjoy these moments man! Cheers.
Good on both of you. Very cool stuff! Man the racing community seems like a bunch of bros. It's awesome to see.
You totally deserve a drive Jimmy. Wishing you the best of luck 🤞🏻
jimmy im so happy to see you grow like this man- like just absolutely astounding. keep going my friend
Jimmy you look so much more confident in yourself being there, like you know you're a professional race car driver and team owner rocking up to your element!
That was really cool of the team at BMW to let you do that. Great driving Jimmy you just know Sheldon is going to have to spend some time now making sure he beats that time though being able to repeat the time in a real car is probably where he's got you Jimmy what a nice guy though.
Jimmy could you make a video comparing this to the iRacing bimmer? Would be very interesting to see how close or far it feels from a proper simulator
Probably not. NDAs and all that.
@@Tcgaming67 Agreed. No risking the charmed aspect of where you are and what allowed you to be there. Discipline. Integrity. Jimmer surely doesnt need the views like others, thank goodness for that. I wish there were more Jimmys in the world
Simple way to answer it find a car that is in iracing and in rfactor 2 (make sure it's a official one) and see/feel the difference that will give you a idea as it looked like it was running rfactor pro
@@blairwalton4456 rF2 fan here: rFactorPro is mostly a graphics engine to which teams attach their physics packages, that, I have been told, are in many cases done in "Dymola".
But, at least one Pro driver Ye Yifei said that LMDh in iRacing are way too much on rails and previously also said that the Dallara LMP2 on iRacing was a far cry from the Oreca in rF2 which, nonetheless, still wasn't as good as he wished it to be.
On the other hand, Guy Cosmo said that the Oreca in rF2 was very very close to the real deal on all inputs and behaviour and Pagenaud said the same about the Caddy DPi, even with the very forgiving previous tyre model it uses.
I really want to see an average of 10 laps on the normal rig vs 10 laps on the super realistic sim. I always wonder if its possible to lose a bit of time to realism 🤣
I would’ve thought you probably go slower in the super realistic sim, simply because you can’t exploit the flaws in the game like overrevving, tyre physics, etc.
@@GuilNascimento But Jimmer has recently upgraded his rig. He's also using a much more faithful mod of the Nurburgring now.
@@GuilNascimento im pretty sure the original comment is talking about the immersion of the physical rig itself, but on the same software. i would say the realistic sim would gain time, because you gain so much new sensory information that would be lacking on Jimmy's home rig. someone who is racing real cars would not become overwhelmed by it all, but utilise as much of that additional knowledge to go faster. if someone is a "casual" driver, then im sure they wouldn't really know what to do with that information and would likely make more mistakes without it -- that would be me :-)
Amazing video Jimmy, well done on being so competitive. Would love to k ow the tyre data after both runs you v him lol
It really is amazing to see jimmer grow as a driver man
good stuff
The thought of seeing Jimmy in an lmdh class car one day gives me joy. After watching for so long and seeing his level of skill progress so much, I feel like it's just Canon at this point. Big ups jimmer, you're an inspiration for all of us sim plebs like you ❤️
I remember watching the video of his first visit, absolutely amazing video he was like a kid at Christmas,I like how chilled he was this time and got the job done
Was just about to rewatch the last video of this sim. So cool of BMW to bring you and and check things out.
I started watching during Covid, back in the
We could say this a W for sim racers, but the truth is that Jimmy has come so far and experienced so much in the past few years that he can't be considered to be just a sim racer. So I say W for Jimmy.
Impressive driving man, great video as always!
Jimmy, your progress from sim racer to legit real life race driver is truly inspiring. We're all fucking proud of you.
You just keep achieving. Wonderful to see. Great lap
Insane improvement congrats jimmy
12:58 holy, that brake and cornering, chefs kiss. perfect catch, can't stop replaying it. NICE.
Every single video I've ever seen where you got training/tips from a pro driver, you could tell they were really impressed afterwards. That culminated in you now even beating the time of a proper pro IN HIS CAR. That's beyond impressive! 💪🏽
I knew this car would be right up your alley after all those years of prototypes in iracing. Nice!
friday evening + new jimmer video = perfection 😍
Well done Jimmy! You've already shown in real life that you have some serious talent. Great stuff and props to Sheldon for being so cool about it.
I love your journey Jimmy, from Sim shed to race driver back to multi million sim.. fantastic, I'm so happy for you 🎉
Props to the camerawork and editing 🙏
Podium with the Black Falcon Bilstein BMW 330i at the Nurbugring, and now outlapping the DTM BMW champion, get this chad a contract.
Amazing work Jimmy honestly your hard work is showing it’s fruits. Such a megachad
Thats really impressive, jimmy! congrats!
So cool you got the opportunity to drive the WEC car.. what an honor! And you are properly quick! You continue to represent us sim racers in the best ways possible 🔥
Great to see how you improved in the last 2 years! Keep going faster mate.
This is really motivating seeing his growth over the years. Jimmy you are Amazing!!!!. This is what I want in my life life as well, I am working on improving myself so I can my wins in my personal life.
Get this man a contract with BMW lets go haha awesome to see!
Congrats Jimmy. Racing IRL has improved your driving a lot, especially when it comes to the steering wheel movements.
Wow I remember watching the previous BMW sim video and thinking Jimmy was on to big things, the last few years have been insane and now you're lapping faster than the DTM champ, this is wild.
the quick twitch steering on braking entry on the last lap is impressive!
i'm sat at 3am beaming with pride for a total stranger! I love you so much jimmer, you have inspired so many of us
Boi the experience gained in the BMW at the Green Hell and in the Praga have worked wonders for you Jimmer. From watching you streaming GT2 several years ago live to now, your progress has been stunning sir 👏👏
Living vicariously through Jimmy daily. I dont care if its Sim Racing Stewards or content like this video, thanks for sharing with us. You never fail to put a smile on my face.
oh jimmy this was awesome watching your improvement through the years is crazy!! maybe we see jimmy in T1 DTM?!?!?! that would be the ultimate flec after beating sheldons time.
Sheldon looking fresh as the proverbial daisy, Jimmer red faced and soaked with sweat.
Another great vid.
Jimmy has come so far. Amazing. Living the dream. Thanks for sharing with us.
Really happy for your achievement Jimmy!! Good things are coming for sure ❤!!
That was awesome! I am beyond jealous! Congrats man!!!
Fantastic work buddy!
been a believer in Jimothy since 10k subs. what a ride!
Just goes to show your years of passion and hard work pay off and you fully deserve to be driving these cars in the real world mate.
Great Job, Jimmy! Humble to the end too!
So proud but yet so envious, well chuffed for you buddy 👏
Jimmy might be a Generational Talent
What a cool lad, cheers to Sheldon! And congrats Jimmer
Mega! Loving this type of content. It’s a shame I no longer have the Simutec studio in Milton Keynes, would have loved to get you on the sim.
Well done BMW and well done Jimmy. Can't wait to see the new prototype racing for real. Great video, btw.
I'm sure Sheldon could have done a little more with a bit more practice....but Jimmy is there. Amazing to see how hard work finds the 2 seconds that talent alone couldn't.
Nice Jimmy! It's one thing to do some fast laps and it's another to win a race.
Jimmy, man deserves a pro seat…F4,F3,F2….or something in WEC or IMSA…dunno their junior categories….he’s proving that he has what it takes
Really cool to be able to follow along on your racing journey. keep up the great work!
You are a champion in real life racing Jimmy never forget. I sincerely hope racing teams are paying attention to your skills and current form.
Now I need to know how close the Race Sim Studio counterpart feels to this sim. I love that car.
Bravo Jimmy! Blown away by your final lap there.
This is amazing! Loved all the banter between you two, and fact you beat Sheldon's time got me excited af! Great job Jimmer!
Lemans 24h confirmed or what? 😁
my god, if jimmy ended up in a lemans 24h race, i'd be up all day and all night rooting for him.
Jimmy is quick as hell, the mans an extremely talented driver
Something about this video seemed to up the ante a bit. Really nice pace with the editing. 🔥🔥
I am cracking up at that picture they chose for the Welcome poster, too good.
almost no surprise, Jimmer is a class act.
Amazing experience, looked fantastic. I would probably of moved the brake bias forward a few clicks.
So modest in his talent is Jimmer.
Can't wait to see him smash some more irl championships given the right sponsor deals.
If you can't tell already. He's pretty fast.
SVDL! Him and his bro are proper-quick drivers, so to be up with them is mighty impressive!
Seems like a nice guy too.
