    Great, honest review....just tells it like it is. Lots of power, people notice, cops notice, and you'll spend a lot of money both in purchase and ownership.

    I love this car, especially the hellcat version of it. It also looks much better than any of the muscle cars or sporty sedan cars ever known

  • @rkalla
    @rkalla 7 лет назад +9

    As the owner of the SRT 392, I agree with most of what Chris says except "blistering speed" - the car is fast-ish, but it's naturally aspirated and the power comes on very linearly and does not throw you into the back of your seat. It "pulls confidently" is the best way I can describe it but I always wished it was faster (for example, the same power numbers as a forced induction motor such that the TQ and HP were accessible lower in RPM range) would have made the car 30% more fun. Very liveable car though... the exhaust is perfection.

      Sounds like you need to spend more money and get a Hellcat.

    • @rkalla
      @rkalla 7 лет назад +2

      JazzedHellcat you are spot on, I regretted not doing so. I sold the 392 a month ago and am looking at doing an Chevy SS + Magnuson build... if that falls through I may go shopping for a hellcat charger right after the Trackhawk and Demon hit the streets (hopefully some nice markdowns available for Hellcats)

      Anthony Rogers hard to find for a fair price, GM ran 20% off in March for two weeks, new one was $39k out the door. now they are back up to 47+ which is obnoxious knowing if you pay that YOU are the one taking the bath on resale. I'm going to wait until year end and find a manual that had been sitting for a while.

      Riyad Kalla yea bro and right now I don't believe they taking any new orders since they not making anymore and seems like nobody is letting theirs go..... I was having the price issues here so I just got a 392 Daytona charger

    • @ricksmead2530
      @ricksmead2530 7 лет назад +1

      did you do the resonator delete? i have the daytona 392 and the mid muffler delete made it sound so much better but you still get no drone. as far as power your right on the money it runs hard for a big car but not insane by any means. I'm working on a pro charger now and it should run really well then. they only put down about 410hp at wheels but the pro charger is supposed to make me about 620 whp thats more than the hellcat

    I was a little surprised with this review. I've got this exact vehicle down to the color and there are a few things that I find different in my experience. The car has an ever present exhaust but it's not crazy loud bc its an active exhaust system and there's no drone at any speed. I've never had a car with an aftermarket exhaust and this one is find. I tried the mid-muffler delete mod and that was a bit much. I will agree that all my neighbors hear me remote start the car because cold starts even with stock exhaust are a bit rediculous:) It's very comfortable for long drives as I drive 3,000 miles/month. Grip is NOT good even with the 275 tires. Its very difficult to not spin the tires in sport mode and the throttle is very touchy. If you were winding down PCH and blipped the throttle, the car easily gets squirly. Just dont dip into the throttle while turning:) From a roll though, I can hang with a c7 corvette all day. You can eat stock mustangs and some Camaro SS or the Chevrolet SS all day on the highway:) Road trips can yield 22-24mpg highway. Mixed driving yields around 18-20

      This is my worry as I live in a smaller neighborhood with town houses...I don't really want to be the annoying dude waking everyone at 5, 5:30... Have your neighbors approached you about it?

    This is a great review. Well spoken and thought out. I would lose the background music though.
    I currently don't get police attention in the charger I drive now, which looks fast but isn't. I hope to pick up one of these ...hope I can continue to stay away from Johnny law

    I have a Ford Excursion 2004 limited edition that gets 11 miles to the gallon on average, so having a charger Daytona that gets bad mileage shouldn't be an issue. In fact if your getting a muscle car, don't think about gas mileage. that's not what they're for.

      @moodiiba 6 лет назад

      are you pretty sure they redesign to 2021? I wanna buy one and I'm afraid that they redesign it in 2019 :)

    • @agentd36
      @agentd36 6 лет назад

      mohammed ma I’m in this same boat. I read the 2019 refresh was scrapped, and new design will come out in 2020 as a 2021 year car. I would never buy a first year for a new design anyway so at best will get at least three years out of it and reconsider a trade-in. From what I’m hearing they’re going to water the engine down V6 TwinTurbo make this thing more European and less American muscle if that’s the case I’d prefer to have this year version over what’s to come. There’s also talk about Dodge or FCA being purchased by the Chinese so God only knows what that will do the brand and performance. Owning a 392 hemi would be pretty bad ass if they get rid of the hemi the brand will suffer. For 2018 the upgrade was adding stickers to the car and bigger tires. But I’m still worried about 2019 too, but most likely some of the older colors plum crazy and B5 blue. Since they just came out with the demon challenger using the current body style, I can’t see them changing it next year after all the hype

      An SRT version cost about $7000 more with comparable options. SRT has a different/better suspension but the Daytona has a 3.09 rear gear.

      Wrong I could have got a SRT for high $30s ($36k to $39k) I paid $44k for my Daytona and has a lot of things SRT did not...

      Roshan Hari he claims 3 grand. I believe it. I have a 392 as well, and it doesn't break traction while traction control is on. My winter car is a 2006 charger rt with snow tires.

    Beautiful car but I don't recommend it to anyone. This car is riddled with problems which Dodge refuses to fix, serious things to like electronics, paint and rust on new cars due to lack of attention to detail. Don't believe me... Look up RUclips videos on problems with the Charger.

    • @doyouevenknowme7494
      @doyouevenknowme7494 6 лет назад +2

      I just did and most were of the pre 2011 models. Second if you use RUclips to check for realbitility you are just dumb. Such a small sample size put that kind of stuff on RUclips. Not saying it isn't a smart thing to look out for but to make an assumption that this means every car is bad is just idiotic I can literally say the same thing with any car brand and say oh look on RUclips and see how shitty their cars are and you'll get just as many videos.

    If a white man complains abt too much attention from the cops in this car, u should believe him!!! I've heard this from black friends w/tinted windows...but maybe one of those "Back the Blue" stickers will help...I mean everybody loves some cops, right? U can't hate them all b/c u got some dumb asses out there who can't handle their authority...right? Plus it's probably more enticing to pull over a fast car than a minivan or corolla who's actually flying through the red light. U are a part of their fantasy abt pulling over a Hellcat!

      prolific , the daytona does look like a menace on the street , sports cars in general especially the exhausts. For this matter i got my waze app on and radar detector so if your doing a pull you got more eyes on the road for a heads up.
