Greatest character introduction of all time.
Virtually entire story was divulged in this scene.
Absoluetely
Loved this show as soon as I saw this scene. I knew it was something special and just got better and better. Until all the A holes demanded Laura Palmers killer be known. That wasn’t even the show. They had no idea what they were watching.
This show made me fall in love with Mr Lynch
@@Dread987 the finale made me fall in love with lynch, this scene made me fall in love with kyle maclachlan
Diane, I’m currently watching Dale Cooper’s entrance to Twin Peaks and this is probably the greatest introduction of all time.
...and at the same time most mind*ucking serial and big middle finger to the other serials. I love it.
Diane. 11:30 am. February 24th. I'm entering the comments section of RUclips.
LOL
Never seen so many Twin Peaks fans in my life....
Never seen so much racism in my life
This is honestly my dream guy.
well, we do live inside a dream so
Honestly same
Mine too
Which is, sadly, why you really couldn’t have this show today. If Twin Peaks had been made in 2021, Cooper would be either an anti-hero (like Walter White in Breaking Bad) or a total goober (like the male leads in virtually every sitcom). He also would have slept with Audrey in that episode where he found her in his room...
@@robertbusek30 yeah well if he did I wouldn't blame him but it was actually pretty wholesome how he handled it. Almost like a father figure
He talked more in this scene than in the entire third season.
😅😅
They totally butchered Dale Cooper in S3. I didn't really like S3 at all. I wish I had skipped it. Nadine/Ed/Norma storyline was the only thing that was somehow worth watching it and it was only 2 episodes.
@@Silkl4shI'm sorry to hear that. I think the exact opposite, everyone's stories in s3 were amazing, (Albeit cynical and depressing), except for Nadines' lol
He played five parts though!😂
The entire third season
Damn fine Upload!
... and hot !
after 3 years i decided to watch twin peaks again. on the first episode after 20, 30 minutes i was thinking something is off... and then agent cooper appeared and i thought "yes, that's what was missing"
It’s interesting, isn’t it, that Frost and Lynch chose to introduce him so late in the pilot.
That’s why The Return is so uncomfortable too. For most of the show we don’t have the comfort of the agent cooper we know and love. Lynch is amazing at manipulating the audience’s feelings
@@guen4413 exactly what I was about to say. “The Return”, as great as it was, always felt a little “off”. Until part 16 anyway.

Never seen so many trees in my life...
... mmm and this cherry pie !
It is false. Kyle Is from Washington State and there are so many trees over there 😜🌲🌲🌲 precisely Douglas firs
The character is from pa. The writer has obviously never been to pa its 80% trees here theres a reason its called pennwoods.
This is actually the greatest fucking scene of all time. Hahahaha
Tool& twin peaks? My man
First time watching this it took me about 20 seconds to be completely sold on this character
one of my favourite character introductions ever, i wasnt sure if i was sold on the premise of the show but this alone made me binge watch it
It's my birthday today, such an honor to have it coincide with Cooper's arrival 😭❤️
Once a day I give myself a present, like watching Special Agent Dale Cooper enter Twin Peaks for the first time.
I envy those watching this massively influential iconic TV show for first time. It changed the way I view all media :-)
I watched Twin Peaks for the first time about 28 years after it originally aired. Ended up consumed by memories and feelings from the early 90s.
Some of the acting aside, these first two seasons are just incredibly beautiful. If there was a slighter chance of being killed or maimed in some way, I’d love to hang out in Twin Peaks for a few months back in 1990-91.
Yeah, when I tried to watch Twin Peaks for the first time a few years back I had to stop because it gave me such a strong feeling of nostalgia.
Its like the most nostalgic show ever. It transcends cultures, and languages

"Dance of the Dream Man" is used perfectly here
An underrated Cooper moment is when he boops Truman’s nose
Coming to rewatch this in February 24 th in 2023
Diane, I am currently witnessing one of the best scenes in all of media
Happy Twin Peaks day everyone 😊
Best character introduction ever of an amazing character! I love mr. Jackpots!
Did Lynch model the way he talks off Dale or did McLachlan base his speech off Lynch?
Mark Frost wrote Cooper based on Lynch.
My Autobiography A Fanfic It's based on me actually.
@@georgegisborne9217 Maclachlan's Blue Velvet character is also based on Lynch... he found himself a good avatar in Kyle and it really worked for them.
@@EvanLyman - Every time I watch either Blue Velvet or Twin Peaks, I find more little connections between the two.
Watching this on February 24th, 11:30 AM! Happy Twin Peaks day! :)
Happy birthday, Kyle! Peace and health for you and yous. Always remembering Catherine, your wonderful mother, her life cut short. May your life be always filled with Love.
This gave me a feeling of film noir, instantly, first time I watched.
The show is a wonderful but strange combination of film noir, supernatural thriller (one of the first of its kind), police procedural, and soap opera.
@@robertbusek30 Wondrous strange, completely. Such a unique blend of elements, even had an occasional 1950's sitcom vibe, and also shades of Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys (teen sleuthing). The thing is, I really dig a continuing story to begin with, so Twin Peaks was such a draw for me-- and then to find how marvelous it all was ... that Americana flavor of the town, the foreboding evil in some of the characters and events, the sheer quirkiness, and more. The show was flawed after a while (should never have revealed the murderer) but the big picture is that it was something amazing and immensely entertaining that still packs a wallop to this day.
@@eduardo_corrochio Well. Lynch and Frost never wanted to reveal who actually killed Laura Palmer. Sadly, the network forced their hands. I can kind of see both sides there; audiences only like to be strung along so far, especially when there’s a murder mystery.
@@robertbusek30 I guess there was nothing to do but choose someone or something that killed Laura. Frost and Lynch couldn't just drop it and leave all that to move on to a different mystery in town-- the audience would have a conniption.
I don't like when a series just keeps adding mysteries and not giving the viewer satisfaction for previous ones; "Lost" did that so much as the show progressed. I stopped tuning in after two seasons because it annoyed me too much, lol.
@@eduardo_corrochio Lynch says that the murderer was always intended to be who it was. However forced the reveal was, the way it was revealed was pure Lynch and probably the scariest scene ever broadcast on standard television.
Happy twin peaks day 2024 ❤️

>Fifty-four degrees on a slightly overcast day.
>Weatherman said rain.
>If you could get paid that kind of money for being wrong sixty percent of the time, it’d beat working.

when I get into town.
>Remind me to tell you how much that is.
>Lunch was, uh, six dollars and thirty-one cents at the Lamplighter Inn, that’s on Highway Two near Lewis Fork.
>That was a tuna fish sandwich on whole wheat, slice of cherry pie, and a cup of coffee.
>Damn good food.
>Diane, if you ever get up this way that cherry pie is worth a stop.
>Okay.
>Looks like I’ll be meeting up with the, ah, Sheriff Harry S. Truman.
>Shouldn’t be too hard to remember that.
>He’ll be at the Calhoun Memorial Hospital.
>I guess we’re going to go up to intensive care and take a look at that girl that crawled down the railroad tracks off the mountain.
>When I finish there I’ll be checking into a motel.
>I’m sure the sheriff will be able to recommend a clean place, reasonably priced.

Dammit Coop...if you'd just turned around
I got into this show during COVID and it’s one of my favorites

Woah I’m soooo in love with cooper😍😍😍
PS wouldn’t it be so cool if Diane was the name of the tape recorder😂
Until I saw S3 I was actually convinced he had named his tape recorder Diane. Even after she sent him earplugs 🤣
@@GepardenKthat's cute
I've literally been saying that Diane is simply the name of the tape recorder, not a real person.
My favorite scene from the whole show :)
I'm still on the fence regarding what came afterwards but those 30 episodes are something special that I adore, even the supposed bad episodes.
LOVE This! Best opening scene, EVER.
i'm going as him for halloween this year
Inspiring and awesome character 😊❤️😊❤️
I wish I was back in the time this show aired...

Does anyone else think the population of Twin Peaks seemed a little inflated? It certainly doesn't feel like a town of 51,000 people.
The production company made them add another zero basically. Frost & Lynch wrote it as a small town with about 5000 or so inhabitants.
It's really supposed to be 5201 population
Just checking in for my yearly visit

Happy Twin Peaks Day Today
He’s essentially reading the script’s exposition aloud for us. He still hasn’t realized he’s a character in a TV show yet. Some already have. You see… Twin Peaks is a tv show about a tv show called Twin Peaks. You can’t save Laura Palmer because if you do, there is no plot and hence the show would not exist. Any scene with flickering white light on someone while they speak? That’s them taking to us through the TV, us watching the show with flickering light on our faces.

This trees really are something. See, the shows intro credits roll over a sawmill. What happens in a saw mill? People saw logs. That’s terminology for snoring, because the show is a dream.
