Just bought a 2013 E250 CDi that I'm fairly happy with, but was very disappointed to find that you can't update the satnav to anything newer than 2015. OK so it's a 10 year old car but I could do without a separate satnav or my phone stuck to the dash to overcome 8 year old maps.
Usual issue with motoring journalists just testing the posh models. I drive the same car without the air suspension & it rides worse than a wheel barrow on it's rock hard run flat tyres. Comfortable it certainly ain't & I'll be getting rid of it. For Heavens sake, please test the cheaper models.
The jurno's usually get whatever the manufacturer gives them, they are usually are fully loaded so the they can best show off all the manufacturers features. There are the odd exceptions of course. Frankly I would only use them as a source of info, they have a symbiotic relationship, the car companies need the jurno's to publicises their cars, and the jurnos need the car companies to give them vehicles to "test" lets face it, no jurnos are going to be very truthful and say a car is utter crap, or they won't have any more cars given to them, and no more free trips to some unnecessary exotic destination for car launches, etc. :)
Love that car!

All the S213 estates have rear air suspension. Mines on 19's and rides no problem. You need to get off the run flat tyres though!
