I remember when this first generation RDX came out, it was one of the most sporty luxury SUVs of the time and it was awesome ~~ that 2.3L K23 turbo 4 cylinder had a lot of power (240 HP is still plenty fast), and it was just fun to drive with that SH-AWD system just giving the grip you needed. But of course, Acura didn’t sell that many of this generation RDX because of the lumpy power delivery, it wasn’t very smooth, gas mileage was abysmal, and it wasn’t as comfortable as people thought. Which is why the 2nd generation RDX brought that smoothness with its refinement and 3.5L J35 V6. But enthusiasts know that this first gen was so fun. Not the most luxurious in the interior, but lots of standard features that you got for the time and cheap compared to its competitors.
2006-2007 competition was quite weak: X3 was small and bad looking, Q5 started only at 2008, GLK -the same, but it looks really old nowadays and 1st RDX still looks OK
I don’t know what u mean by horrible turning radius, I looked up the turning radius of some of its same size competitors and it’s basically the same as all the other compact SUVs.
@@calvin4319 drive one, numbers may suggest otherwise but it was honestly a pain to park in tight space unless you had room to swing wide. Lock to lock just didn’t seem to turn the wheels enough compared to other cars.
My neighbor has one of these, except his is a 2011. I drove it once and it was incredibly fast! And even though it was a rebuilt title, it was still a very nice car.
Picked one of these up last year to daily drive. Coming from 90s Hondas I was unsure on how I'd like the handling of the SUV, but for its size, the RDX is plenty nimble. I know when released a lot of people weren't happy with its "lack" of comfort, but its the perfect amount of sport and luxury for those coming from modified cars that don't want to drive soul-less bricks. I already have a intake and exhaust installed, along with 19x9.5 wheels and 275/40 tires for added grip. I have a downpipe and injectors purchased as well, just waiting to buy Hondata so I can install the parts and then tune it. Should wake it up quite a bit and improve power everywhere.
I watched both of ur “0-60” test runs multiple times to confirm my finding and I can say with confidence, you did not “pre-boost” on the 1st try. It takes at least a few seconds to achieve “pre-boost” condition’s. Especially when your vehicle doesn’t have launch control, which could cut the time it takes to achieve it.
@@issavibez394 Yeah both the TL and TSX were based off of the Honda Accord, but the TSX was smaller than the TL, and was the more entry-level luxury compact sedan, while the TL was a mid-size.
I’m debating which to get, if I get used and older I only need it for 2 years but if I get newer(2017+) I’ll just keep it for 5-10 years.. 2010 rdx 7k but with 165k miles 2012 rdx 11k with 105k miles 2017 rdx 19k with 77k miles Or just go broke each month and get a 2021 rdx A spec 34k with 12k miles..

Just bought a 2012 RDX Tech with sh-awd, only 120,000km (75,000 miles), so excited!
man i appreciate you test driving the rdx! it's my first car and i really enjoy it, that turbo spool is crazy.

They are great!
Infiniti EX35 takes this thing out easily in my opinion. More durable, more powerful, better driving dynamics, better build quality.

I discovered your channel recently and love your style of fast driving. Can you review a 10th gen civic in future? Thanks!
Hi! Of course. Thank you for watching :)

The older 5 speed automatic pre-boosting does nothing beside bog the car and cut the power. Going off one pedal is faster here.
Hood gap is probably designed for heated to evacuate
Please do a 2008 TSX!
Will add that to the list!

Could you review a 2012 Acura mdx
