- One of the most common engine protection additives is ZDDP, also known as zinc. Zinc molecules form a sacrificial chemical coating that can withstand high pressure friction in valve-trains.
Today’s engine oils are generally designed to protect original stock engines. If your vehicle contains a performance-modified engine, you may require more zinc in your oil. Pennzoil has oils for applications such as these like Pennzoil GT Performance Racing Oil and Pennzoil Platinum Racing Oil.
If you’re looking to purchase these special engine oils, give us a call at 1-800-BEST-OIL to talk to a technical expert to find the best Pennzoil product for your performance vehicle.
As always, remember to follower your manufacturer’s recommendations.

save yourself money STP is full of zink or zddp which is what you want,in your eng, especialy flat tapan engs.check all the quality lubes data sheets, the great lubes have higher levels of wear and friction additives, thats one reason they cost more.
Ya, it also wrecks your catalytic converter
I don't have one on my 67
its true zinc does help, I used zinc additive treatment before in my bike and car engine before, it feels smoother after adding it as if it lost some of the kind of rough rubbing in the engine..
It feels smoother? It's all in your head. What the Pennzoil man don't want you to know is. There are a lot of engine still out here with FT cams running just fine with standard oil. The whole zinc BS was created to sell more designer oil.
Hi denice ive tried stp oil treatment on my single, fours bikes and my datsun car before it does feel different, try it
