  • Hello again friends, thank you so very much for stopping by. I hope you enjoy this easy Lanyard tutorial. If you would like to make this longer, just add several inches to both cord ms and add some extra square knots. I am 5'4 so this length was perfect for me personally.
***Please remember : if you are using a different SIZE, or TYPE of cord, it will use a different length. Factors such as each persons spacing of knots, and their tension, will also affect the length of cord needed to make a pattern, ALL PATTERNS in fact. I always advise to cut extra cord length when trying s new pattern for the first time because of these variances. From there you can gauge how much YOU personally need to use given the above examples.
I want to hear from you, what tutorial would you like to see? Let me know in the comments below and I will chose one for an upcoming video:)

I worked through the first 47 square knots, but then I saw the remaining cords were uneven, the two on the inside so much longer than the two on the outside, and I thought I had done it all wrong. Then I saw you do the switch knot and I actually laughed out loud. Very clever! I now have a lovely mint green lanyard. Thank you once again very an excellent tutorial.

He he! Yup, it’s my little secret for making these or else it gets complicated to pull the cords uneven lengths etc, not to mention how incredibly annoying it is to pull extra long cords through for almost 100 knots!
I’m so happy it worked out for you!🙏🏼♥️✨

Interesting, I’ve made 100’s and never once had one come undone. You might want to make sure your gathering knot is super tight and not over top of knots. That’s another reason I leave the space where my gathering knot will be.

@@soulfulnotions2648 I just meant that it's a good tutorial and that it makes for an a ttractive lanyard (lol. Can a lanyard even be attractive?). And I suppose after 3yrs, I wouldn't be called a newbie, yet I like it, too.
If you're talking about the other message about knots- that isn't me. I was sent a notification. I was curious about it and wondered who and why they sent me a message. From what I saw, it looked as if it's tutorials to learn knots most people who macrame wouldn't use. It seemed to me, that english wasn't their first language.
      Happy knotting 😊 !

Any idea how much more cord I would need when using 4mm braided cord? It's not the same brand, but looks almost identical besides being 4mm vs 3mm. I've followed other tutorials but really liked how you did yours a tad different with the switch knot in the middle. That's one thing I didn't like about the other tutorials. Without the switch knot the lanyard doesn't lay flat and even, its ends up kind of twisted. Think I'll just guess for now and see what happens😆 Either way..beautiful work ❤lovely video, and great instructions!

I used 16ft instead of 15 and mine wasn't even close to right I could only do 37 knots and one side didn't line up with the other

@@soulfulnotions2648 I followed it step by step aside from using more than called for I pause the video several times to follow the steps and had no choice but to shorten stitches when I realized it wouldn’t line up. What step did I miss and how did I do it wrong? would the type of paracord have anything to do with these errors cause mine isn’t aloe infused

The colour is called Aloe, it isn’t aloe infused. And as stated if you aren’t using the exact same cord from the same company there are going to be variances. Please read the description below the video. I have made at least 200 and used the same length cord every time. I wouldn’t purposefully mislead people . Good luck
