The bubble gum taste is a product of the yeast, usually get with Belgian yeast.

with the Malt Miller Guinness tribute you could add a bit of lactose to sweeten it a bit

I just bottled the Munton's Hazy IPA kit a couple of days ago and just had a sneaky taste tonight - it is very nice with a nice tasty citrus/orange and tropical fruit flavour! I am really pleased and impressed with this kit. i found the hop sock a bit of a fiddle as I like to use a funnel and jug to rack off my homebrew into the bottles, so there is a bit of hop debris in a couple of the bottles - but I am filtering it out with a good old fashioned large metal sieve when I pour it into my glass and overflow backup jug! I am now torn between the West Coast IPA 7 per centre and the more sessionable 4.5% American Amber Ale in your review? Should I play it safe and go for the lower alcohol sessionable/quaffable beer or take a chance that I might end up on my back on a Friday night in my living room after a couple of pints of the Muntons West Coast 7 per cent IPA?

      Hi Duncan
I like the West would do it without adding the sugar
The AAA is really the better of the 2 tho ,but all depends on your personal taste
      👍🍻

    Eyup chaps. Another great video.
What did you gas the Guinness tribute with? Was it CO2 or n2?
I want to start doing a Guinness style stout but woud need to get the stout font tap and n2 mixed gas.
Oh and I'm brewing the Dark Rock Citra. Just cold crashing it before kegging. Can't wait for this especially after putting the large bag of hops in that came with it...
    Cheers guys
    Dan

Hi guys just a quick question on serving stout Do you carbonate on CO2 and then switch to Nitrogen / CO2 mix gas to serve or do you just use the mix gas to carbonate and serve ? If so at what psi ?
Keep them coming it’s good to see local yellow bellies having fun 🤩

Hi Mitch I just the mixed gas
Carb at 30psi,leave about a month and serve,at around 30psi on the Guinness pump
      👍🍺

scoring -You can choose your own method of scoring, but it does mean that you have too many 10/10.
    Personally:
10 - You would deliberately travel and stay overnight for a pint of this one.
9 - You would travel out of your way to get a pint of this.
8 - You would tell people about how good it was
7 - You'd drink this all night in your local
    6 - Happily have a pint
5 - Good, but not pub quality
4 - You'd offer that to guests that you are subtly encouraging to go home.
3 - Needs to be turned into a shandy at best
    2 - A terrible undrinkable beer
1 - Terribile and does not even resemble beer
With this scoring method, most of your beers might be 6-7 and we would all be hanging on for the 8-9 and wondering if a 10 might one day arrive.
