Guys I have tragic news, someone broke into Kevin’s shop last night and stole the hood for Mullet. Suspect was described as 6’6” had a mullet and yelled “hoods are for p***ies” when he ran out the door... please let us know if you see this man.
I don’t think people understand how challenging it is to have this kind of apparent reliability and performance on a first time out. Kevin is a professional and should be used as example of how to run a small race service shop.
I hope his yt channel gets the subscribers it deserves soon. The content kevin uploads not just on mullet but all of it is so underrated its not even funny. Guy turned building race cars into an art form and should be considered the standard!

Man Kevin is an unbelievably talented builder. I can’t imagine being able to make a custom one off race car/ street car that basically rolls out of the garage for the first time drives 3 hours then it’s pulls a 9, 8 and 7. The attention to detail had to have been excellent.

Thats what i was looking at. First passes, running into the 7's of all things and that things going straight as an arrow. kevin just puts in so much precision into these builds that you know that alignment is to the 1000th of an inch. Insane.
He really is though. The first time I met him was at the very first C&C's. He looked me right in the eyes, gave me a firm hand shake and thanked me for coming. He has done that with every single C&C's I've been to. All around humble and genuine dude

We can all wish for a woman like Maddie she suports cleetus in everything and is so happy when Cleetus is happy. They both deserve eachother and the future looks very good for them

Top tier craftsmanship. Cleet picked the right guy. This might be the most impressive build I've ever seen from a performance standpoint. Others evolve to this point. Mullet, Kevin, and Cleet have just built an historic car that only has 3 passes on it.

The next weekend Runs in the 6,7, 8 and 9 second brackets and wins all of them I can't get it to do 10's find 's a vacuum leak . .( MTH of freedom) learning how to drive on two wheels in a Crown Vic weld posi trac and no wheelies jackstand
Beautiful car deff the cleanest in the fleet rn but it did throw the alternator belt leading to loss of head lights & It rejected the first tune turned it all down to zero boost, then pretty sure it kicked into overdrive when it wasn’t suppose to & then vice versa when he expected it to then nothing happened, also window trim was dust in the wind🌬 But besides all them small issues it went flawless😂heck I mean that is compared to the other cars McFarland Fabrication has put together in the past..It deff didn’t piss oil or lose ice water down the track durning the pass just because someone forgot to close it 😂, & it didn’t throw a drive shaft/piston/or a rod.. It also threw the parachute🪂this time & the seat fits him🦒perfect.. I’m deff stoked to see it race next week after them bugs get fixed.. That’s A BIG Fire🔥Me 🆙

Going straight is all on Kevin, he set this thing up about perfect. A couple little adjustments and a few more finishing touches and it will be ready to go play for real. Building cars is one thing, I get excited to see them go and be successful.
Every one needs a Madi. She’s so supportive and it’s infectious. Kevin is so dang awesome and cool as the other side of the pillow he seems like another awesome person to have in your corner.
Most people will not appreciate what it takes to build a brand new race car and have it run and drive right straight out the gate 7.9 on it's 3rd pass and look like it was only jogging is a credit to KSR .
When I met Kevin at the freedom factory he gave me knucks with the same enthusiasm even after a long day racing at the track, as you said, he is definitely a good dude!
If you watch Leroy's passes his turbos are cherry red by the 8th and almost white hot by the big end of the track. Think back to Leroy's first 7. They had to drain the water out if the block and just barely squeezed it out. Mullet's turbos were just starting to glow. The car didn't sound like it was trying because it basically wasn't. It's running less than 1/3 of it's max boost and has tons of adjustability and tweaking possibilities for suspension, weight distribution, etc. Running 7's on the first outing / shake down runs is absolutely amazing. Not even breaking a sweat. I have a feeling this car will be able to outrun it's chassis cert before too long.

KSR was the right move for sure, Mullet will be the prize of the fleet, and safe too! So straight and controlled, and with all the data to make it even better.
I mean all credit has to go to Kevin and KSR Performance & Fabrication for the relentless effort and attention to detail that he and his team have put into this build. And obviously Cleetus for commissioning the build! Hell yeah brothers!
Fair shout, there wasn’t a huge amount of coverage on that at the time as it ended up being an abandoned Jet Car project turned into 6 second drag car project. Can’t deny that the chassis and body work is exceptional though!

It’s crazy to think Mullet’s first drive was a three hour road trip and then immediately rips off three easy passes and it’s in the sevens. Great job KSR!
That's probably the best thing he could have done it broke the engine In Properly. Why do u think leeroy lasted so long cuz it was driven on the street alot and broken In well. Drag racing is probably the worst thing to do to your car. It doesn't properly cool you basically roast your fluids and turn it off and when u don't change your fluids constantly you'll just wear everything that much faster. A circuit car will never cold start and race they run the engine in gear for like an hour to warm up everything. F1 and other circuit engines don't last just cuz they're built well that helps make power they last cuz they are properly maintained and cooled. Unlike most drag racing channels I see never mention maintenance as often as they should. All the fluids(including the diff🤨) and plugs should be changed every race/tournament. Especially on a drag car.
The way Kevin builds cars with his OCD turned up to 11 and every little detail taken care of is how i wish i could build cars.....you do an amazing job brother!!
You can. It just take that little extra determination to not walk away from each task until it functions as it should. You know Cleeter's still gonna break it. He has to, or he ain't trying hard enough!
Man, thinking about all the blood, sweat, tears, and broken parts it took to get Leroy down to the 9s, through the 8s, and into the 7s. Then here we have Mullet who runs a 9 right off the bat, then an 8 after a tune tweak, then a 7 for run #3. It's a whole new ball game now, and gott-dang, Keven can build one hell of a car. Never going to stop loving my boy Leroy, though.
Kevin is the kind of thorough most people wish they could be, but just will never have the patience for, myself included. And seems like an all around great guy. Great job on this spicy unit, Kevin and KSR!
I envy a lot of things this man has, but I’d trade every cool toy and every last penny to find a women that is as supportive and gets just as excited as Cleet like Madi does. Cleeter, you’ve got it pretty good!

Must be nice to be a genius, Kevin. Must be frickin nice. 🤣🤣

Kevin just made James life so much easier. A properly thought out build and direct connection to the builder. Although, he might not have much work to do on it. Looks pretty solid.
Leroy will always be the pride and joy that we’ve all grown watching with cleetus, however it’s nice seeing you in an enclosed solid piece of machinery
cool shirts, enclosed cars with BUGS ONLY ON THE WINDSHIELD, rugged radio head sets, quick switch to pump gas, not staring THRU the turbos driving on the highway, matching trailer behind mullet, ONLY thing missing is a backup laptop pre-programmed with data base. GOOD LUCK GUYS, STAY SAFE.

Nothing will ever replace Leroy. Tons of character, and still stupid-fast for a stick car despite having no body. Never going to get tired of seeing him run no matter what other wild cars Cleeter adds to the fleet.
Backing the trailer up and pulling out Mullet and the Nova is going to be eye candy at every track. Easily two of my top five favorite vehicles or all time.
what a crazy evolution over 5 years. I remember when cleet was JUST starting. I wasn't here for day one, but it was pretty damn early, like when he got Leroy. I look at what I was doing 4 years ago and what HASNT changed, then look at cleet and his crew and how far they have come. Soooo inspiring for what people can do when they reallllyyyyy hustle. Love it.

The running lights illuminating the engine bay looks pretty cool. This thing is going to be an absolute monster turned up. Three passes in and it's already in the 7's. That is INSANE!

Honestly, as amazing as a rocket car would've been, I prefer Mullet as a more conventional build. Watching Kevin's videos has been a great journey, and this way, instead of just coming out of storage for the occasional show, we get to see Mullet in all its glory as a street-legal monster during (hopefully many) Drag Weeks!

The parachute has a white tube connected to it. That's pressurised air from the compressor. So I guess they have one actuator for the wastegates and another one for the 'chutes. Kevin is just so good at his work
I believe Kevin did talk about. He mentioned that there is a G force sensor and if it senses sideways movement, as if the car hit the wall or got squirrelly it will deploy the chute.
Back in the day ... im 51, i did N.W Drag racing school... 240 inch digger went 7.59 @ 174 on my full out pass. mph low i grabbed the shutes a touch to soon, best day of my life. never been anywhere close since... low 9s. love this car!

@@BlueCollarBachelor i dont think they messed up so much as the entire plan for the car changed halfway through and many things had to be redone because of that. No fault of theirs.
@@BlueCollarBachelor what did they mess up?? He originally wanted it to be a jet car then half way through once jet was mounted they changed it to drag car. Troy built the whole chassis extended the body to fit the tires , the rear tubs everything....I don't think Kevin actually built anything on the chassis. A car ain't gonna hook and book without a good chassis.
His reactions remind me of kids opening "better than the last one" presents on Christmas. KSR did an amazing job doing the build. Be safe during the trips and good luck. Definitely "A Ripper" with Bald Eagle attitude.

The only car I've ever seen that has to make smoke before I can tell that the wheels are spinning, it's just uncanny, it's so composed, nothing bounces, jostles, vibrates, wobbles... same on the launch - it just gets smaller and smaller. Does it still have the jet-stretch wheelbase or something? Only 17psi too, holy crap. I have a good feeling about this car!

Ruby runs mid 7's like NOTHING now, it's insane!
Leroy is a different type of car to be fair. Was their first project car. Then on top of that is a manual. Very different cars with different purposes

Compared to some of the other cars, this thing sounds like it’s not even trying. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us.
If you watch Leroy's passes his turbos are cherry red by the 8th and almost white hot by the big end of the track. Think back to Leroy's first 7. They had to drain the water out if the block and just barely squeezed it out.
Mullet's turbos were just starting to glow. The car didn't sound like it was trying because it basically wasn't. It's running less than 1/3 of it's max boost and has tons of adjustability and tweaking possibilities for suspension, weight distribution, etc.
Running 7's on the first outing / shake down runs is absolutely amazing. Not even breaking a sweat.
I have a feeling this car will be able to outrun it's chassis cert before too long.

KSR was the right move for sure, Mullet will be the prize of the fleet, and safe too! So straight and controlled, and with all the data to make it even better.
I mean all credit has to go to Kevin and KSR Performance & Fabrication for the relentless effort and attention to detail that he and his team have put into this build. And obviously Cleetus for commissioning the build! Hell yeah brothers!

Fair shout, there wasn’t a huge amount of coverage on that at the time as it ended up being an abandoned Jet Car project turned into 6 second drag car project. Can’t deny that the chassis and body work is exceptional though!

That's probably the best thing he could have done it broke the engine In Properly. Why do u think leeroy lasted so long cuz it was driven on the street alot and broken In well. Drag racing is probably the worst thing to do to your car. It doesn't properly cool you basically roast your fluids and turn it off and when u don't change your fluids constantly you'll just wear everything that much faster. A circuit car will never cold start and race they run the engine in gear for like an hour to warm up everything. F1 and other circuit engines don't last just cuz they're built well that helps make power they last cuz they are properly maintained and cooled. Unlike most drag racing channels I see never mention maintenance as often as they should. All the fluids(including the diff🤨) and plugs should be changed every race/tournament. Especially on a drag car.
The way Kevin builds cars with his OCD turned up to 11 and every little detail taken care of is how i wish i could build cars.....you do an amazing job brother!!
You can. It just take that little extra determination to not walk away from each task until it functions as it should. You know Cleeter's still gonna break it. He has to, or he ain't trying hard enough!
My issue is once there's more than 3 or 4 tasks my brain gets stuck in a loop trying to prioritize

Then here we have Mullet who runs a 9 right off the bat, then an 8 after a tune tweak, then a 7 for run #3. It's a whole new ball game now, and gott-dang, Keven can build one hell of a car.

what a crazy evolution over 5 years. I remember when cleet was JUST starting. I wasn't here for day one, but it was pretty damn early, like when he got Leroy. I look at what I was doing 4 years ago and what HASNT changed, then look at cleet and his crew and how far they have come. Soooo inspiring for what people can do when they reallllyyyyy hustle. Love it.

Honestly, as amazing as a rocket car would've been, I prefer Mullet as a more conventional build. Watching Kevin's videos has been a great journey, and this way, instead of just coming out of storage for the occasional show, we get to see Mullet in all its glory as a street-legal monster during (hopefully many) Drag Weeks!

The parachute has a white tube connected to it. That's pressurised air from the compressor. So I guess they have one actuator for the wastegates and another one for the 'chutes. Kevin is just so good at his work

I believe Kevin did talk about. He mentioned that there is a G force sensor and if it senses sideways movement, as if the car hit the wall or got squirrelly it will deploy the chute.

Back in the day ... im 51, i did N.W Drag racing school... 240 inch digger went 7.59 @ 174 on my full out pass. mph low i grabbed the shutes a touch to soon, best day of my life. never been anywhere close since... low 9s. love this car!

@@BlueCollarBachelor i dont think they messed up so much as the entire plan for the car changed halfway through and many things had to be redone because of that. No fault of theirs.
He did mention Profab in the last video of Mullet.

Troy built the whole chassis extended the body to fit the tires , the rear tubs everything....I don't think Kevin actually built anything on the chassis. A car ain't gonna hook and book without a good chassis.

The only car I've ever seen that has to make smoke before I can tell that the wheels are spinning, it's just uncanny, it's so composed, nothing bounces, jostles, vibrates, wobbles... same on the launch - it just gets smaller and smaller. Does it still have the jet-stretch wheelbase or something? Only 17psi too, holy crap. I have a good feeling about this car!
