@@damonhayward7929 The box fully loaded weighs Approximately 75 pounds. It’s a little awkward to lift alone unless you are a pretty stout fella. Easy enough for two people to each grab a handle. I was in my 40s when I built it so back in those days I could handle it alone okay. Now that I am in my 70s I need to unpack a few things for easier mobility. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
After watching your video, I had to have one of these, built one right away and stocked it just as you have (it's got everything you could need to cook a meal!). This is the best chuck box design I've ever seen. It just so well organized. I incorporated some magnets into my box in order to hold things in place such as my spice rack, a small LED light inside, etc., which has worked out well. Every time I camp, folks are always stopping in to ask about it (or sneaking up to take a look when I'm not around :) ). I recently printed a QR code that links to your video and attached it to the box so others could look it up and see how it's made and build one for themselves. Thanks so much for such a great video and sharing such a good idea!
ratliffgreg WOW! So cool that you built your own! LED light & magnets are a definite plus! I would LOVE to see a picture of your Handiwork! Maybe you could send me some photos at pungoprairie.com ? Thank you for the QR Code and the link to my video! Very Considerate of You to do that! Thank You So Much! Happy Camping! Stay Well My Friend!!
Hot damn!! I've been watching kitchen box videos for inspiration for making a sewing/textile repair kit I want to take to festivals, and yours is the best so far!! I LOVE how you've created different levels of working space! And you totally blew my mind that there is an adapter for refilling those 1lb propane tanks!!!! I remember when they were $3-4 each, now they're like $10 and the adapter is only $13! That single tip is gonna save me SO much money!!
Excellent video! Your box is brilliantly executed. Even better, you took the time to give details, dimensions, and reasons behind each step. I love the fact that you obviously love to cook, and you appreciate the need for proper tools to do so. Hear, hear!
So....I'm not sure what I was expecting to see, but that was pretty awesome. Every time I thought wow, this can't get better, another section opened, and was FULL of well thought out, well used space. super utilitarian, no bling, just a great camp kitchen
Definitely the best design I've seen . Would be easy to pack for overlanding, and eventually incorporate into an overlanding trailer setup. Doesn't have a big footprint, but has everything you could possibly need.
👋 Hi from southern New Mexico🌶️🌵...Another fantastic build. Have to share this with friends. Thanks! God bless you. Angels all around you and Tally and family.🙏💖😊
Hello Sir. This chuck box is a piece of art!!! I will be making this for next years Canada camping/explorer trailer project!!! I do have a a few ideas for changes but this video redefines what a chuck box should be!!! Very well done!!!
Outstanding Bill ! Every space used and yet not cluttered. Parker Brothers need to come up with something like this for young cowboys and cowgirls.....some how “Little Miss Suzy Homemaker “ just doesn’t scream “ COME AN GIT IT ! ! “ like your portable kitchen does lol , I’m going to make one of these to use for camping and cooking outside . Thank you for sharing Bill . . 👍👍🇺🇸 God Bless
It's so much fun isacca! But even more so to hear from folks like you that are enjoying my videos. I have four more in the works right now while I am at my camp in the Virginia mountains. One will be a short run through of a smaller version of the chuck box that you see in this one. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant Bill, great comprehensive vid. I'm building one after I get the utensils and gadgets. I can't copy yours faithfully because of the difference between our gadgets but it's all there. Been looking for ideas for some months, yours is perfect, the best and solves all my problems for camp space saving and pure comfort. Thanks and appreciation from Australia.
Thank you for sharing your design, Bill! I have watched this video 3-4 times. We just sold our camp trailer and are going back to tent camping! My two girls love going and their favorite part is the eats!!! I am going to build this over the winter to be ready for next spring. I've been camping all my life, with my dad, boy scouts(built the patrol box as a project with my dad), and of course, bivouac during my service years. This is the best chuck box I've ever seen. Again, thank you for sharing your design, you didn't have to do that. God Bless, sir.
Thank you John! Several folks have built their own version of my chuck box and sent me pictures. Please send photos when you build yours. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for taking the time to share this amazing setup. I think I just found my Alaskan winter project....next hunting season, we’ll be much more comfortable in moose camp. Excellent work!
My god, this is better than Mary Poppins bag! Stuff just keeps coming out of here, and it doesn't get any better than this! What an amazing box. This is the Elvis Presley of all chuck boxes - The King! I'm going to make one just like it. So inspiring! I absolutely love it! Democrat from California sends you greetings!
Ha ! Love it MJ! I did have fun creating it. Several folks out there have made their own reproductions and sent me pictures. If you do make one for yourself? Please send a photo. "The Elvis Presley of Chuck Boxes". I Love it! Thank you MJ & Thanks for watching!
Bill that is the best Chuck Box I have ever seen. been researching looking for inspiration for a better version than I already have. I think I can stop searching now........ you have given me a good basis to design my own now. Thank you sir for the inspiration. That is the most thought out box I have ever seen!
I planned on making a chuck box for an extended summer camping trip. Youi have a really great design. It gave me a lot of good ideas to consider when I make mine. Thanks!
Wow!!! Just awesome... I love your camp kitchen setup... ALL OF IT!! I've seen that burner/oven unit, but I don't bake too often when camping, mostly grill. Your chuck box is the best I've ever seen!!
Just wanted to say Thank You for sharing your design! I have just completed my Chuck Box copy of yours, and we love it! Thanks so much, I could not have made such a nice box without your instructions.
Hi Stuart, I was just here at my computer editing my next video, and saw your message pop up on the screen. That is so cool that you have built your own version of my design. You made my day! I hope you get many years of useful enjoyment form your craftsmanship. I would love to see it. Thank you for your support!
You can tell this is a product of several iterations - great share, thanks. I need somthing like this on the back of my squaredrop camper, very compact and efficient.
Incredible Incredible Incredible. Verry welll thought out, planned, and assembled. Bet it weighs a ton when fully loaded. This is a great blue plan for my future chuck box.
Thank you david! I am heading back to set up camp in a couple of days. I am taking along a smaller, more compact version which I will feature in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching!
Literally gone through 50 chuck box videos and this is the only one that actually looks useful. All the others waste space, are bulky, and are essentially storage chests. This is actually a portable kitchen. A whole kitchen in a small box. Awesome
Thank you diapedesis! I am delighted that you may have gained some inspiration by watching this video of my chuck box. I am a bit of a self taught "chef" so it is important to me to have a functional camp kitchen. Thanks for watching!
Hi Sir, you are the best, you need to put that on the market and make some money. I would be the first to buy it. Thank u so much for the demonstration.
Thank you for putting so much detail into this video. That chuckbox is an amazing set up, and I look forward to the upcoming videos you mentioned in a comment below showing the other/smaller versions. I do have a question about the one in this video though....Did you mention the weight of it with all the gear in it? Easy to move around with one person? I may have to tackle that project one of these days and build something similar to that box. The way it all integrates is pure genius!! Love it
Thank you Alicia! I will have to put it on a scale for exact weight, however I estimate the fully equipped box to weigh approx. 60 pounds. Thanks for watching!
just found your channel WOW ! that is one well thought out chuck box that thing is slicker than a chewed chitlin . subscribed thanks for sharing . Vernon
Just came back to this one after watching your recent post on the Mini-version. Maybe in 2021, we can get a build along video of this one...its still my favorite of all the boxes ive seen. If you could do the build video and put links to purchased items....i think you would have a HUGE winner of a video sir. Im watching this one again dixon....because its just that DAMN good! LOL
Really really nice! Two things I would change. A dowel or tension rod to hold those mugs and cups you could run it all the way through, mug handles and glasses should sit there. Second, i would use a peg or bolt to hold the plates two for plates snug and that nice platter. The rest is super! I like the water pump and basin too!👍
Bill, Tali girl and I are so happy that you have subscribed as well our friend! Thank you so much for riding along! If you do build a chuck box? Please be sure to send us pictures. God Bless and Be Safe!
Thank you very much Terri! I wish I had the time to build one for you. However with running three businesses, keeping up this little homestead, shooting video and editing for my RUclips channel, along with three different construction projects going on, I am stretched just a tad too much on time. Thank you for for asking thought and thanks for watching!
A tribute to Ingenuity! Whatever you might have overlooked, well, it wasn't. A decent cook can do anything needed, and if it needed more, then you'd have to be in a town and away from the outdoors or mountains which enhance so much better (unless you're look'in at your sweetheart across the table look'in back at you). I assume you didn't need to mention the icy cold stream for cold drinks and trout. Thank you for an excellent video about a more than excellent kitchen. Good luck from the Orange & Olive groves of East Tulare Co., Calif.
Thank you Robert. I just finished shooting a video of the smaller version mentioned at the beginning of this video, the "Lake Moomaw Mini Kitchen". Still needs to go to editing so I hope to have that one uploaded before too much longer as well. Thanks for watching!
Bill how are you buddy ...... I didn't receive my notification for this video.... I can't believe it this is awesome buddy. What a excellent video love it. Thank you so much for taking the time and do the video.....Great Tutorial!!!
I love this Chuck Box I am a beginner in wood working do you have any kind of blue prints I know you gave measurements but it would be easier for me if I could see it all at once again great Chuck Box
Unfortunately Corinna no blueprints or plans. Maybe sometime when I get caught up on all my other projects around here. Thank you & Thanks for watching!
That is the most functional Chuck box I have ever seen. Been looking for a good design for years and yours is the best I’ve ever seen. The question I have, I made a 12x12x7 ft talk wall tent and made a frame system for it very similar to the one you use. I really like your cooking fly off the front of it. How does your cooking fly tie into the front of your wall tent? Is it connected with Velcro hook and loop, or does it snap to the canvas on the edge of the end of the tent? Great video and thank you for taking the time to do the walk through with the measurements.
Bill, I love your chuck box design. I've been looking for a design like this for some time. I am currently purchasing the materials to build one and I cant find the lantern hook you're using. Did you fab that yourself or purchase it? If purchased, where did you get it? Also, I'm curious about the front grab rail. I'm sure I already know the answer, but can you lift and carry the box with that rail? Love you're whole setup. Thanks for the video.
Hi Greg. Thank you! I fabricated the lantern hanger from a piece of metal stock from a home center. The grab rail is a marine type. I have a smaller version of the chuck box where the front panel does not open and swing down. On this one I have the same grab rail that serves perfectly fine as a carrying handle. If you were going to try to do that and still have a drop down front panel, you would need heavier duty hardware then the screen door type hooks & eyes when in the closed position. Thank you for watching my video and your support of my channel! Good luck with your build. Be sure to let me know how it turns out for you.
I've been camping for 50 years, and this is the most EPIC chuck box I've ever seen. Nice work Sir.
God bless you, sir. This is the best chuck box I've ever seen.
Thank you GunGuy!

Nice job Bill, I like your shirt too.
