Ever wondered how a guy can hit dozens of dots like this course and then hit a deer at thirty yards 4" off where you KNEW the pin was? Crazy. Seriously. The best video ever made on this course👍👍
The fact that he can stand there at full draw as long as he needs in order to hit the dots and they're not moving is one part of of. Deer don't like standing still broadside at exactly 30 yards. Plus having very little time to actually take the shot.
@@bryanboone1528 I’ve killed a lot of deer pigs coyotes etc and I still have to get my mind straight before I draw down on even a doe. Especially when I’m in my ladder stand. I can watch these does for like ever but after I’ve decided which one I want I have to play out the shot in my mind which then puts everything in controlled sequence. Playing out the scenario before I draw requires me to focus on form and the exact spot I want to hit. Took a while to remember going to the basics is the answer. And I know there are so many people that may get only one chance at any deer and they see hair in the sight window and hammer that trigger. You gotta do what you need to with that type situation.
I've been to that shoot in redding CA several times great shoot. I live just a couple of hours away in Oregon like Ole Barrett archery there. Great video guys.
My cousin was an olympic archer. They used to do exhibitions at the mall for Hoyt. They would shoot tic tacs and put out candles at ten fifteen yards then they would take one of those old mechanical monkeys with the cymbals and shoot a styrofoam ball of its head.
I just want you to know that I shot the Texas state 4H bow tournament today and won it and lots of it u have helped me on I have watched like all of your videos it says I haven’t been a sub long but I have different accounts that’s why and u have help me sooo much I really appreciate what u do
Chrisbee! Your goal shoulda been 10 up and maybe finish even 🤷🏽♂️ just sayin dude! Kolby sounded like he needed some homemade chicken and rice soup! He just wasn’t digging it!
What’s the deal with sight tapes, why is there so many issues with them? I understand how they work but they always seem to be out or need adjustments. Definitely turned me away from a single pin. As always good content!
I once shot a fly at about 50 yards with a rifle. He was on my target and my ex brother in law bet I couldn't do it. Probably the single best shot I've ever made.
I am not allowed in my competitions to use my phone for any reference or communication. I can use it for pictures, but that is all. I am also not in a division that allows rangefinders, but that is because very few compete in the division with range finders and I want to have lots of competitors. All of this is my choice and I fully accept that.
I'm guessing it's a set yardage and there's a shooting line. It doesn't make sense that they wouldn't have a set range to make the entire field of competitors have a fair competition.
I havent shot that in several years. Shame it burned as bad as it did. I am betting if you have one shoot to go to, Redding is still the one. Great vid. Those cross canyon bears were my nemesis. I think they were ahead 9 to 4 on 22's
I don’t know why I bother you never ever never answer or comment back , so to all others , this is how I train for short distance , walk around yard and shoot random stuff , leaves , grass , etc, whatever . You will have to shoot 40 yard plus on sights to shoot close up !!! Just a small part of my daily ninja 🥷🏻 training !!!

There's several possible reasons. Weather can play a huge role, especially wind.

Nerves get the best of even the most disciplined people, I know I get to shaking when I'm about to shoot a doe let alone a big buck 😂

Do you change bow poundage when shooting in close to the farther shots ?
Yeah he goes up to 90lb for those shots

What is the arrow setup for an event like this?
A good video idea would be to do a review on zinger fletches.

These kind of shoots do you guess the yardage or or are you aloud to use a range finder?
Your aloud to use rangefinders

That kid is me
Shooting 5 yards or closer just seems so wrong lol
