As a Business Analyst myself who is looking to break into Product Management, this video hit home! Nupur's comment on having faith in your own skillset was just spot on. Thank you Diego for this, and all the other great content you have been putting out.
Hi I would like to ask that people from non technical and don't know about coding and programming can they go for product management field ... Btw I'm taking about myself 🙂 I'm BCOM Honours student Seeking for your positive response !
Hi @Preeti, absolutely! You certainly can be a Product Manager WITHOUT having a technical background. Check out this playlist I made that covers and end to end set of videos on how to break into PM: ruclips.net/p/PLcMv0LrPMqFW25VeO7fqCUQbhxGD2Khnv I also have this guide that can help you: pmdiego.substack.com/p/if-you-want-to-break-into-product Let me know if you have any questions
Great discussion, especially around why you want to get into a PM role and if it’s the right fit. Also, love the points about technology awareness. Lot of people get bogged down or carried away thinking about tech interview part and cut themselves short on other aspects.
Thanks Ashish! I’m glad you liked it! You are right, it’s super important to not forget that the PM interview is more than just studying for product cases or technical questions. The whole process of recruitment involves a lot of networking, communication and other soft skills
Thank you so much Diego and Nupur for such informative video. Appreciate it. I was wondering for resume, I’m software engineer want to change career to TPM. Do you think I should add the applications that I built or projects that I worked on as a section on my resume?
