This is a good, genuine win - though the fight isn't over. Arrowhead still needs to reign in their Community Managers and Soyny will undoubtedly try to bring something else around, but this is cause for celebration -a victory for Super Earth.

They might be making a tactical retreat, but the real victory here is that the Helldivers community has now learned that they can make even a megacorp flinch. We bloodied their nose, and they might come back around, but we've seen them bleed and... if it bleeds, we can kill it.

Valve has given us the weapons to make megacorps bleed with enough of us. This is why PC gamers love Steam so much, we have means to voice ourselvea. This is what Epic Games doesn't understand.

Take it with a grain of salt. The rootkid anticheat combined with the PSN TOS would have given SONY right to all the Data on your PC, and the right to ban you if they, or the AI they've pattented, find something they don't like.
Sony have shown their hand and their intent is clear.

Feels so good too! I got to enjoy the game for free after the refund of 71 hours!
And now that I know Sony was actually in the production of the game I can feel even better in NOT re-purchasing it. A two for one deal, can't beat it.
Keeping it real, they will eventually bring this back. They’re just letting this heat die down and they’ll slide this in as quietly as possible.

the reason that sony back down was more for legal reasons as some countries threaten to sue and no company can sustain multiple lawsuits internationally at the same time

While I don't want do be a downer here, I do want to urge some caution here. The devs and sony just didn't follow through with it, it costs nothing to keep the game as is.
They are not really apologising to the community they just didn't follow up and might just add new inconveniences later down the line with the new lesson to just not announce it publicly.
Wait a couple of weeks or months before repurchasing the game, because getting the next refund won't be so easy
True, I was mostly speaking to people like me who couldn't get a refund and only had left a negative review and uninstalled the game. Though I still urge caution at ► 2:48 for everyone to be cautious.

Yup its a well known strategy bend the knee now and as soon as the their backs are turned go back in for the kill.
It has been seen countless of times as soon as the community moves onto the next big thing, the company will hurry to reinstate the unpopular decision once more.
Why? Because they know the second time around the backlash won´t be as huge as the first time and even IF it somehow succeeds and they have to bend the knee once more.
Well there is always a third fourth and fifth time.
The community have to win every time, they just have to win one time.

We did not want or need a dishonest apology - we wanted them to reverse course. They're not suddenly friends.
My review will stay negative and my game will stay uninstalled. They only gave ground, they'll find a way to punish us for it.
I want confirmation on steam. But the moment I get it, review become positive.
