The part like groupset is cheaper here in Indonesia. The carbon is from China, then they assemble here Indonesia that is how they can sell it on lower prices
@@GCPerformance18 frame reach on the "XL" strattos is identical to the specialized tarmac size 56. So a westen brand medium bike is equivalent to polygon xl.
The crux of the polygon is the wheels. I’ve had the Strattos S7D for 2 years now and the wheels were the first thing to go. Overall, it’s a fantastic bike! Good job for showing bikes that people can actually find and afford!
yea I mean the wheels are nothing to brag about but then time i rode them for the 6 months yesd being they were super hgeavy, this was not an issue for the flat terain I ride on and also I found them very well handled. I would look to upgrade them when I could afford it but it would not be a must
@@GCPerformance18 of course, they’re round and they surely roll but if we are weight minded, they can go (but hang on to them so they can be used on another build!)
I bought a Polygon Path F4 as just an urban-get-around-town bike and it looks nice for the price at $799. Polygon has quite a few good looking carbon road bikes with nice components for under $3K. For a more budget brand they look really sharp, even down to the logo, it doesn't look cheap. Might not be the lightest, stiffest, most aero out there but for an entry into cycling you'll get a great looking bike with parts to grow into.
Polygon is great. I'm using Strattos S5 for my training & even racing events sometimes. Their alloy rim brake variant is dependable. Also being an Indonesian, made me proud of the quality.
I just bought an S8X and I'm super happy with it: Swapped out bars and stem (preference for narrower/shorter), tyres (32mm) and tubes (TPU), seatpost (setback) and seat. One thing to note with the geometry is that it changes a bit across the size range - my XL is fairly relaxed but the smaller sizes are a bit more aggressive in comparison to other bikes. Overall it's a nice all-rounder bike for the price, I find it comfortable for a couple of hours at a time and no regrets at all.
IMHO (which is biased as someone who lives in flat area), if manufacturers are not going to include deep dish rims when they upgrade a bike's spec to carbon wheels, I would rather they just include cheaper aluminum wheels to lower the MSRP...since most of us would just upgrade the wheels anyway to deep wheels. The average person who buys an Endurance bike does it for a more relaxed fit, but they still want to go fast and do local group rides...and aero wheels sell.
Greetings from Indonesia where the Polygons are made in a state-of-the-art factory. Their frames are now very high quality and look great. Best value going!

I think it would be great if these budget bike brands sold these bikes without the wheels, and made this frame and groupset available to bike for customization. This would reduce the size of the shipping box, which would reduce the DTC shipment costs and also allow the consumer to choose the wheels they really want. Taking 300g of an entire bike does not do much. But when you make a wheelset alone 300-400g lighter, the effect is quite dramatic going up a steep hill.
Hey there, I just wanted to share a couple of things. First off, I absolutely love your videos! I've been learning a ton, especially from the builds you showcase in your other videos like your SL8 . Secondly, I wanted to point out that Polygon isn't a direct-to-consumer brand. You can't buy their bikes directly from them. You need to go through an authorized dealer like "Bikes Online" to purchase their bikes. I'm not sure why they're the only ones in the US. In contrast, Canyon is a true direct-to-consumer brand. Trek and Specialized are also now selling bikes directly to consumers through their websites. I think you can actually sell these bikes but I'm not sure if "Bikes Online" has a contract with Polygon to be the only in the US. You should reach out to Polygon. Just wanted to clarify that. Thanks again for making these videos. I'm in the market for a new bike, and your content is incredibly helpful!
The Price Point is Perfect, they should offer a Carbon Stem and Handle Bars in my opinion and take the price up to $2999, im sure customers would prefer this and pay the extra money for a full carbon cockpit with Full Shimano D12 Groupset. You wouldnt need any other upgrades and could enjoy the bike until it's next general service.
